Thanks to you both for the informative video. This process makes a lot more sense to me than the ceramic applications and I will be trying it out on my 2022 Stingray. Darren mentioned a solution of alcohol and water he uses to decontaminate the paint before applying the Undrdog Pro product. I would expect that is in lieu of the Undrdog Purps product, but wanted to confirm this along with alcohol/water mix percentages. Thanks again.
It’s a 90% isopropyl alcohol 5-6 ounces mixed with 28-30 ounces of distilled water. This solution mix is great for cleaning everything, this is what you use between all steps of paint correction and clay bar, it will get the car super clean. Also used on the glass, plastic, wheels, leather before coating. This solution will get any oils from touching or leftover compounds off the paint.

@@doughooks7411 Hey Doug, I got my car in February. I was really lucky. In July 2021, we jumped off the PA Turnpike and went to one of our local dealerships. For once, “I was that guy”, you know, the guy that you wish you were when trying to get something you really want. I asked the salesman that greeted me if I could get a reservation on their C8 list. I was told they don’t have a list. The first person through the door with a $5,000 deposit would get their first and perhaps only allocation. (This dealership receives only one or two Corvette allocations per year.) The next morning I was there a half hour before they opened with my deposit. The Corvette Specialist was on vacation so I had to return 7/22/2021 to work on an initial order. I “kindly asked how much will I be paying”? To my surprise, I was told whatever the MSRP comes in at! 11/8/2021, the allocation was received. If I wanted to make this cycle’s deadline, I had to submit a final detailed order by 11/11/2021. 2022 Red Mist 2LT HTC, Z51, GT2 Seats in Jet Black Napa Leather, Black Seat Belts & Calipers, Mag Ride, Front Lift, Battery Protection Package, Carbon Flash Painted Mirrors & Z51 Spoiler, “Jake” Cargo Liners, All Weather Floor Mats (I highly recommend these), Tow Hook (Hopefully never needed) and the Standard Wheels. The build MSRP came in at $90,115 with a $50 credit for the Park Assist. The Park Assist and Splash Guards were on constraint. Still waiting for the Park Assist, but got the ACS Rock Guards. The “mud flaps” lol are a little pricey at $529 (Tax included), but in my research IMO they are the best product out there. I’m 66 and the Carbon Fiber doesn’t do much for me, so other than what comes with the seats, I didn’t have any in the order. IMO it’s pretty expensive for what you get.) Actually, a lot changed as to my final build: went from the Coupe to HTC, from Elkhart Lake Blue to Red Mist and decided to add Front Lift. Was very glad to have my wife onboard and she loves the HTC. Was easy, like in the blink of an eye to add around another $11,000 with those changes. It was February 14, 2022 when the C8 arrived at the dealership and since I’m in PA and there was a lot of stones and anti-skid materials on the roads the dealership was very happy to keep my car in their showroom for about 2 weeks. For the dealership, I was told it was a big deal for them to have a Corvette in the showroom for a few weeks since they only get 1 or 2 like I said earlier. Justin HPO through his Vlogs swayed me into having PPF and Ceramic Coating done. So the guys from Blackout Tinting picked up my car in late February and used an enclosed trailer to take the car to their shop in Latrobe PA. They returned it to my house in about a week. PPF for the entire car ran $6,000 and it seems to be doing well for the first 1,100 miles. I got half price for the CC. It was hard from March until late April or early May to keep the C8 in the garage until the stones were pretty much gone/cleaned up by the DOT. HOW ABOUT IT! These cars are FANTASTIC!!! FYI: In real life, my first name is Doug Take care, enjoy the C8 while you can! It’s almost time for mine to go into Hibernation. I’m not sure of your location. See you in the Live Streams. @@kerry_glock Okay. I guess I didn’t know that you already had it or I had forgotten…likely the latter😂. Great story on your journey, and I appreciate you sharing it! I have a 2016 Z06 that I bought new from Bomnin Chevrolet in Miami back in August 2016. MSRP was $96.8 and I got it for $77.5. I waited until warranty was out and had it modded by Vengeance Racing with a stage three package that took it to 681/675 wheel and I love it! I didn’t really want to get rid of it so I decided to keep it and also get the C8. There is a local dealership that I bought the C8 from who only charges MSRP and I put my name on the list in March 2021 behind nine others with a 5k deposit that would go towards MSRP. My number came up In January and I had planned on the red mist coupe. In the meantime, my wife told me she loved the HTC in rapid blue, so I decided to surprise her and get it for her since I would be keeping the Z06. My order was a rapid blue 3LT, twilight/tension blue, HTC, Z51 w/mag ride, front lift, battery protection, Jake floor/liner protection pkg, Spectra gray wheels, black calipers, and carbon fiber interior. I also did body colored accents, spoiler, mirrors, and top/nacelles. All body color. Total build came to $96,615.00. My park assist was also on constraint so I got the big $50 credit and am also still waiting on that. I had the dealership install grill and intake guards, and ACS 1VM splitter and side skirts and ACS rock guards. All extra parts were shipped to the dealership so my wife would be unaware of the surprise. As to the surprise, she had not seen the twilight/tension interior in person, so when the car was ready to go I had the dealership send me a text saying they had one up there with that interior for us to look at. We got there and it was finishing clean up so not in sight. We sat in the back office and talked about why our number had not come up yet (obviously it had and she didn’t know) then they finally brought it in. We could not see it but could hear it. When we walked into the showroom and saw it, my wife said it was the most beautiful car she had ever seen. She soon found out it was her car and was very happy and surprised. After delivery I also contacted Justin @HPO via email to get the skinny on PPF. I am in the southeast but not close to either of his shops so I went with someone locally and did full XPEL PPF ($6K) and XPEL CC ($500) and am very happy with it. We still have 70+ temps and rarely get snow so we have year around capabilities with the cars. My Z06 doesn’t get out much when it is really cold because I don’t always get great traction despite having put a set of TOYO 888s on the rear. I am 57 and my wife 56, but we both are car nuts and enjoy them very much! I love the ease of the HTC as opposed to having to remove and stow the targa on my Z, but I despise the look of a soft top convertible. I am also a subscriber on Brink, HPO, and Racer X, and I do see you on Octane Hour and HPO streams but rarely watch the Racer X show. I may need to bring that into my cross check also! I’m sure to see you on the shows and will definitely say “hello” when I see you there! 💪🇺🇸
@@doughooks7411 both cars sound fantastic! Your C8 build is very close to mine. Great choice on those liners. I strongly recommend them “if you can get them”. I sure wish they’d get around to getting the Park Assist out to us. I have a 2009 C6 Z51. Maybe you remember the Magazine Article back in 2009 “The Killer Zs”. My 2009 arrived in one of our local dealerships in the Altoona PA area in December 2008. I began to keep my eye on it. I would take my son to his music lesson when my wife couldn’t do it. For 4 months time, I’d drive past the dealership and the C6 was still in the showroom. I said to my wife in April, I’d like to buy that car as a retirement present to myself. Well, she said you’re not going to have 3 Corvettes, so you need to sell one. I had at that time a 1976 and a 1995. I sold the 1995 and used those funds towards the 2009. I bought the C6 for $52k it had a $58,600 MSRP. Was lucky because that dealership would rarely sell any Corvette below MSRP. So I still have the 2009 with only 7,200 miles on it. Congratulations on having a ZO6!

It’s the same as the pro/auto, the only reason it’s called Marine is because of the size of bottle which is 100 ml. Using the code brinkofspeed you can purchase for under $120, this is enough to do 3-4 cars. The Undrdog Marine is the best value coating product.

It’s rated as a 5 year coating product, how often you wash your car and what type of elements it’s in day to day will impact that. Also you want to use the proper soaps when washing. For normal person 3-5 years should be reasonable lifespan.
It’s really too bad that general motors doesn’t let you pick your color for the seats and the interior like you said white wouldn’t be my first choice for seats Or interior

FYI: In real life, my first name is Doug
Take care, enjoy the C8 while you can! It’s almost time for mine to go into Hibernation. I’m not sure of your location.
See you in the Live Streams. I usually do Vette Syndicate, BOS Octane Hour and Racer X
Thanks!! Sounds & looks like the way to do it. Congrats to Darren on his stupendous 70TH Anniversary C8. My 70th is scheduled to be built this week at BGAP. It is also a White Pearl Metallic TriCoat HTC Z51 GT2's with spoiler delete. Thinking about putting a Sigala Z06/Z07 2 post High Wing & the INDY 500 top graphics on it. What do you think about modifying it Mike?
😊Awesome and congratulations on your build this week! I do like those Z06 wings, they look nice.
Love that color and the wheels are really nice. Is that Arctic white?
Pearl White Metallic only available on 2023 models.
@@nrdemon1031 Thank you
Great looking C8 Darren!!!
Thanks! A few more goodies to come, stay tuned 😊
Thanks Kerry
👍
Tasteful mods…well thought out…stance dialed in! 👍
🙏 Thanks, stay tuned we still have some other mods coming.
1st off your c8 is the shhhh! I'm getting a HTC c8 early 2023. Want to know how to protect it against road rash.
Xpel and Undrdog coating and be careful driving.
@@nrdemon1031 I'm getting it for the looks. It's a very beautiful vehicle. I am contemplating sending it to Hennessey tho' for the supercharger upgrade. Just in case I gotta go catch a few kitties😂
@@tracyallen2351 I’m not sold yet on the big engine mods, not sure how reliability is over time and wear and tear on transmission and axle. Get a set of ForgedLite Wheels to make your car stand out, Mike has the contact information in the description of this video.
great coverage!!! Keep up the excellent job!!
I never understood why get the front lift if you're gonna lower the car doesn't that defeats the purpose
The front lift still works even if lowered.
Yes I understand that it still works but when you lower it isn't it equivalent to not having the front lift if you understand what I'm saying
@@fredholland5723 it’s about having a more aggressive stance and eliminating the gap between the wheel and fender. I sue the lift all the time which makes it easier to drive a lowered car.
Yes I agree it does look much better but if you lower it does it comes up to the same height as it would if it wasn't lowered what I'm trying to say
I'm tempted to get one of these ,but ithink I'd miss the manual in my C7 too much.
What would suggest using on king ranch leather?
This product would be fine, just clean the seats good first.
Thanks for the product info I'll definatly get some all of that.

Thanks Darren I got the undrdog OMG THIS STUFF IS AMAZING EVERYONE SEES THE DIFFERENCE ON MY CAR ..
Glad you enjoyed it.
That looks awesome you guys.
Thanks Earl!
I think I see a speck of dust on it!
I thought Tyvek Suits would be required or is that at Mark’s garage?
Lol 😂
Can you share the link to the towels and applicator?

Very informative video!
How long do you feel the product will last on the interior/seats?
Good question, I will probably do refresh
In 1-2 years depending on the Wear. In theory you could do two Coates.
Mike cool thing your friend did with lowering and off-set for those beautiful aftermarket wheels. I did the same for my jacksonRacing Supercharged FRS with aftermarket wider 9 inch wheels no rubbing with fender very little wheel gap perfect . Hey gonna have my wife like and subscribe to your videos. She will be a fan lol😊
Hello, any tire rubbing? Looks great!! Thanks
No tire rubbing at all.
Hey Mike,.... have you tested the Underdog product on top of PPF? How does it work?
Our friend Trevor at The Detail Lab uses it often over ppf, it also works well on Matte finish and vinyl.
Love the wheel and tire setup. What is the front tire size?
255/30/20
Use SIO2 from Griots or P&S.
Seems like a lot of effort for a brand new car and new paint
Same effect less cost
Good information, great looking car, love the wheels!
👍😊
Forgedlite wheels, the are 💯 forged and weight over 10 pounds lighter per wheel vs. oem wheels. Theses wheels also have a lifetime structure warranty. Very happy with them and highly recommended.
Beautiful car!
Awesome ride man! Did you ppf your car in any areas before you applied the coating? Thanks
I didn’t, but that is a good point if you had ppf’d then you would coat over that once that was done.
@@nrdemon1031what made you decide against PPF? Will this coating be enough protection?
@@eddiev737 I knew I wasn’t keeping the car long term. My new z06 coming I will do ppf, track pack.
Hey Darren, who did your spring lowering? Did you take it to Classic?
What can you do to keep the liquid from getting into the perforated holes?
It’s such a small amount it won’t be an issue.
just wondering why he used the marine coating and not the auto?
It’s the same as the pro/auto, the only reason it’s called Marine is because of the size of bottle which is 100 ml. Using the code brinkofspeed you can purchase for under $120, this is enough to do 3-4 cars. The Undrdog Marine is the best value coating product.
I want to use the underdog on my paint, but am I required to use their products to wash and maintain the car or can I use other products to detail the car or use other car soaps. Will it impact the initial coating. Can I use other detailing sprays or car soap. Thanks
You can use your other favorites products doesn’t have to be theirs. I will say my experience is the Soap is really good.
That white is a deal killer.
How long did he wait for that car in still waiting for mine
I had the allocation in April but had to wait for the constraints to lift before they built it with all then options.
He waited 29 months for this car.
How do you remove the streaky leftover on the windows. I guess i left it on too long. It's very hard to get off now?
Add more to it and then wipe it off.
You can also just polish it off and start over, that is what I would do.
Just bought a 24 stingray 3lt z51 and was wondering if lowering will affect the warranty?
Amazing!! Love it!
Thanks Jose. 😊👍
How long do you recommend waiting with such a sealant on the paint to be sure the factory paint is fully cured?
So many opinions on that, most would say 4-6 weeks after your car is delivered.
Will PPF still be necessary with the underdog or not?
Yes, two completely different things, you put the coating over the ppf Film.
How does it compare to F11
Haven’t used that product.
Cannot wait till you get your zo6!!!
So how many washes or time does this undrdog coating last?
It’s rated as a 5 year coating product, how often you wash your car and what type of elements it’s in day to day will impact that. Also you want to use the proper soaps when washing. For normal person 3-5 years should be reasonable lifespan.
How slick are the seats after adding that stuff to it?
No change in texture, no slickness.
It’s really too bad that general motors doesn’t let you pick your color for the seats and the interior like you said white wouldn’t be my first choice for seats Or interior
I agree.
Price you pay for an anniversary edition otherwise you can choose
Where do you get the underdog products
Link in description of this video code BRINKOFSPEED gets you 15% off
getundrdog.com/discount/BRINKOFSPEED?dt_id=158118&
Just FYI they have a Pro PLUS now.... that stuff flashes in like 30 seconds so be careful.
It’s isopropyl alcohol mixture
Thanks for sharing 👍
Hey what about the (70th anniversary head rest) adding it to your 2023 c8?
Where do you get the 70th emblem? Car looks amazing!
Disregard. Found them on the paragon site!
Thank you for sharing
Darren is the guy you want to buy a vehicle from LOL.
How much were the wheels?
They are $3,300 shipped with matching lug nuts. Make sure to mention Brink of Speed for $100 off which brings them to $3,200 and free Ceramic coating on the wheels. Talk to Jose at Wheel Designers
I see you have the door plate
What do You mean that’s the only way you can get that dash?
The 70th anniversary card that come on either Carbon Flash Metallic or Pearl White Metallic is the only way to get the suede alcantara dash on a c8. The other models even if 3LT package are leather.
@@nrdemon1031 thanks for clarifying. I ordered the 3LT HTC (non 70th) with Alcantara. I was hoping to get it everywhere. Does this mean I get it everywhere the 70th gets Alcantara suede except the dash? This information is hard to come by.
@@BSnydr not sure I think it depends, if you get the “dipped” interior which I think is only the red or natural interior you get the center console and pretty much everything minus the dash.
@@nrdemon1031 sorry I should have been specific. I ordered the all 3LT with GT2 seats. I selected black with red stitching seats, steering wheel and interior. I wanted as much black Alcantara as I could get. If I would have known in needed the 70th anniversary edition I would have paid extra. Thanks for responding.
Mike give us a list and procedures
If you scroll down in the description you will see a previous video of my Hypersonic Grey car, we go into detail on all the pre coating steps.

Claybar???
