  • Today, Robert from Corvette World shows us all about the C8 Corvette as he would do with someone that is buying a C8 for the first time. This is a very informative and in depth walk around that is great for anyone that has had a C8 for a while or someone that has just bought one. There is a whole lot of technology in these cars and this can be a nice reminder of things you may even have forgotten your car can do. Thank you to Robert for taking the time to do this for us.

    THANK YOU! I pick up my ‘24 this weekend and my salesman has already told me he knows nothing about the car! He’s just gonna give me the keys and say there you go 🤦‍♂️. This helps A LOT!

      Did you request your 15% discount and your three free oil changes because you paid full price but were subjected to an idiot salesman who promised you a totally different experience
      They didn’t do that for me either the Customer house or depend on the BS that the shills on the Internet promises will happen

    My C8 salesman I. Miami was very knowledgeable about the car. He helped me pair my phone, get the trial on star set up, and demonstrated the one person top removal process for my coupe.

    If you push in the start stop button and hold it in a few seconds without your foot on the brake it will go into a mode where you can make any adjustments to the controls on the car without starting it every time. Learned this on my c7 and also works on my c8. Nice feature. Just push once finished and will turn off.

    Gotta say, I was unbelievably disappointed when I went to corvette world, Dallas. I was there two days ago, as of this message. I am probably going to buy a new 2024 2lt convertible, but I wanted to check out, in person, the cars and all the potential options. I called ahead of time and whoever answered was enthusiastic that I come by and see them -- but when I arrived, with my partner, despite being numerous salespersons available, not a single one bothered to approach me. So I directly called over one; don't even know his name because he didn't give it, and tried asking specific questions about what options the current 2023 I was looking at had. Instead of telling me anything about the car, he just told me to read the sheet in the front windshield. Stared at me while I picked it up and tried finding the info I wanted out of the unfamiliar and poorly organized sheet. So I went back to talking / thinking aloud about the car, and he said nothing. Then walked away.
    Basically that happened with 2 other sales people, where I was completely and entirely unavailable to get any interaction, let alone professional interaction, from the dealership. I cannot fathom why. I was there dressed very nicely; moreso than anyone in this video--not that I'm trying to be critical, but I'm indicating I don't think my appearance was somehow an issue.
    I run my own business, and after I walked out on them, because again, NOBODY WOULD TALK TO ME, I couldn't stop thinking about how utterly enraged I would be with my employees if I saw them treat a customer this way.

    I bought my 2023 from Robert a few weeks ago, and Im extremely satisfied with his professionalism.
    I’m not happy with GM’s decision to remove the rear hatch key lock. If the solenoid ever goes bad, regardless of a dead battery or not, drilling a 3” hole on the hatch deck (according to GM) is not acceptable.
    GM needs to step up to the plate and offer 2023 and newer owners a key lock for the hatch.

    I have so many dumb questions like cam you switch modes without the car being on? ie i forgot to put the exhaust on quiet and don't want my meighbors yo hate me in the morning.
    Can you run the PDR in the background and still use the other features on the touch screen, or does it have to stay on when it's on. I ask because i want to have a dash cam running at all times, but don't want my screen occupied by the camera.
    Should you hold on launch control until after 1500 miles, or is it ok to use after 500?

    What about the front end lift activation? How do you adjust the memory function or is it fully automatic?

    • @user-fb4kn3dj1g
      @user-fb4kn3dj1g 5 месяцев назад

      For the front end lift, this is assuming you purchased this option when building the car: you have to have it as an extra, otherwise the car doesn't just lift itself. To operate the lift, there are 3 buttons above the selector lever for the drive mode and to the right of the P/N/D/R buttons on the middle console, under the screen. On my 2024 HTC, it's the middle button and shows the front silhouette of a car with an up arrow over the hood. When you want to make the car lift, just push that button and you should hear the lift motor whirring. It takes a couple of seconds for the car to lift, so go slow if you're about to go over a speed bump, for instance. Then push it again to return the car to "unlifted" status. For memory function, are you asking if the lift works that way? No, I don't think so. I think you have to physically push the button each time you need the lift to activate. Even though the car has cameras and sensors galore, I don't think it's programmed to engage automatically. But I'm still a very novice owner... will try it next time I come to a speed bump!
