Thanks to all of you who have supported this channel, either by subscribing, liking, or commenting,

I'm sure all the joy division fans out there really appreciate the work you're doing. Please don't stop what you're doing
Thanks very much! Great to see so many people enjoying quality music,
I really appreciate it.
I never thought i would hear the Ian Curtis recording in this quality based on the ones i've found on youtube. Thank you so much, this is amazing!
One of my favorite tracks ever.. good remaster, thank you for this upload !
this is so much clearer than the other two versions i listened to. i wrote the lyrics down a couple months ago trying to figure out what he’s saying and everything was correct except the last 3 lines of the lyrics
Could you share them?
@@joaolucasdasilva2461this one is most recent since i changed the last parts of it
This is why it’s so unnerving
Would you say the same old story?
This is why the wheels are turning
Turn away and turn towards this time
Listen now the savior’s calling
Come again and we will be there
Traveled fast but now I’m stopping
Think again and change its way this time
Oh, I’ll break them all, no mercy shown
Heaven knows I got to get somewhere
Crash and burn, the things I did
The times she cried, too frail to wake this time
I’ll break them all, no mercy shown
Heaven knows I got to be somewhere
Avenues all lined with trees
Picture me in ten year’s time, watching
Watching forever
Watching forever
Where I will go, they will go
Where I will go, they will go
Wherever I go, they will go
and this one is from 13 weeks ago which was my last edit to the song before listening to this video

@@azariahportillo Thank you for posting this! it's probably the closest anyone has gotten to the original lyrics. I've been listening to JD's Ceremony for a while and it seems this could also be the first verse, but it's just a theory:
This is why the cold (it all?) unnerves me,
Would you say (We just hear?) the same old story?
This is why the wheels are turning,
Turn away, turn towards this time.
Listen now, the savior calling,
Travel then, (Travel Far?) and we will be here.
Never stop, but now I'm stopping.
Change again, and change it's way this time.
2nd:
Oh, I'll break them all, no mercy shown,
and heaven knows, I've got to get somewhere.
Crash and burn, this sinking ship,
the times she tried, to fail (too frail?) to wake this time!
Thank you.
Viva Ian Curtis!!!
A little too late for that mate
Oh my god, this is awesome, I thought there were only 3 recordings of this song played by JD (and two of them are of the same performance). How did you get your hands on this?
You can also hear somewhat clearly the original lyrics. Thank you for remastering this, you are a hero!
This is one of 3 recordings, this one being the first, a rehearsal at pinky's studio in Salford, Manchester (at least so we are told.)
The next two were a soundcheck, and the live performance of Ceremony at Birmingham High Hall University on May 2nd, 1980 Which was their last concert.
I got this recording from the website "toanendblogspot" which has many joy division recordings, and rehearsals, I hope that helps, and thank you very much for watching!

@@cestulvarzebuskal8643 Are you sure? It was listed and advertised as the 5th
Edit: never mind you’re right, apologies the source I used was incorrect, thanks!
I love JD, but this song really does work much much better with Barney's singing than Ian's. This version is good, but New Order's is just sublime.
