I have a Witness in 45 ACP. And yes the slide cracked after about 1000 rounds. EAA exchanged my old slide for a similar slide like yours at no cost. And it is one of the most accurate pistols I own. Everyone that has shot it has fell in love with it. Great pistol!!!

I got the 10mm Tanfo Stock-1 and did a full Xtreme and BOLO upgrade. 6 lb DA and 1.75 lb SA trigger weight with no pretravel and no creep. Everyone wants me to built them one now... lol

The one thing i like, the tanfoglio is made of metal, i was also told that the tanfoglio is the European version of the 1911. I cant wait to get buy one. Unfortunately the Bren Ten was an epic failure due to manufacturing and supply chain problems. But now you can have the gun the Bren Ten was supposed to be at a great price! I like the looks of the Tanfoglio Defiant Pro in 10 mm but haven't seen one for sale. Plus retail is supposed to be $1000. So The EAA Witness line seems the way to go. But they also import some very high end expensive Witness match pistols. Just traded some guns and bought a Sig Sauer 220 5" Hunter 10 mm single action only with the Kryptec Finish. Haven't had a chance to shoot it much. It has a steel frame instead of aluminum. Yes it's expensive but I couldn't resist once I held one. Cheers
I really messed up and didn't buy one way back when they were cheap seems like you could get a hunter about $800 or less BUT the g40 MOS I picked up later fit the bill nicely and is seriously accurate and obviously reliable

As per the slide cracking, which recoil spring do you use for 10mm? I heard they used to crack in part because they came with 14lb springs. Now most guys recommend using a 20 or even 22lb spring! With the tiny slide, I can barely work the 18lb spring! Which spring weight do you use on your Tanfoglio 10mm?
this gun is single double action I have one it has to be carried cocked and locked the double action is for when you have a bad primer great gun no matter what caliber you prefer enjoy

I guess CZ feels the need to quickly recoup R&D costs from early adopters that Tanfoglio has already long since paid off. @Lando Calrissian A fudd is someone who has no interest in weapons outside of hunting, and thinks that weapons for other purposes should be illegal. And in the case of 10mm, that just means that 10mm is more popular than ever, so how could the cartridge be "dying" if it's getting more popular?

I had a shoulder rig made by Andrews Custom Leather down here in Florida. It's the Spring grip open front model so it's fast to draw and can be adjusted to fit a wide range of full size pistols. It's not cheap but very comfortable.
Icarryone I can deal with either. Both have pos and negs. Aside from that ....I’m trying to make up my mind ...the lower bore axis is a plus for the EAA....but....decisions decisions....
The only thing that might be considered wrong with Tanfoglio is that they have to many choices, if you say I want a full size 10mm with a steel frame, congratulations, you have just cut the number down to about two dozen guns. Seriously, they have a 10mm for every day of the month if you include the Poly frames.

14 rounds loaded in my magazine makes it swell and it rubs bad as you try to insert it. 13 rounds and it's good. But the mags are marked for 14! Two different Tanfoglio 10mm pistols (Witness and Match), two different 14 round magazines. Same problem all the way around. Never had steel mags swell like that before with other brands. Disappointing.

I own the all steel finish version that has a rail. These are very underappreciated guns. I was surprised with how well made mine is.

My experience with their customer service was very positive. They exchanged the slide for me without a hitch and it has shot just fine ever since.

The Tanfoglio 10 mm with the Wonder Finish was the 1st 10mm I shot. After that I was hooked. Got one for hunting whitetails. Now I want them all.

The Stock 1 is a very accurate handgun for sure - but I'm not certain if the triggers are compatable with the Elite Match.

I have a custom holster made by Hughes Holsters for this 10mm. 14 round magazines are available for the 10mm but not for the .45 version.
