Reflecting on how much you want to journal about each day is something I’ve been pondering as well! I’ve been thinking about all things from the Hibino 2 pages per day to the 5 year with 1/5th of a page per day 😂
Hahaha, I can totally see how those two books and the entire spectrum in between are worth considering. I always like hearing you reflect on your journaling and planning in your videos 😊
Some suggestions ; hobonichi a6 techo for daily journaling, it's half the size of the a5 so it should be the perfect amount for you. The weeks would be perfect space for planner. And for the media tracking, maybe the monthly pages on either the a6 or weeks would be enough space and not leave lots of empty space. So essentially, you could combine everything into 2 books, maybe for keeping it organised, you might like to keep the media tracking with the journaling in the a6, and the planner separate in the weeks..... (O wrote this pefore you mentioned keeping journaling and planning separate 😅). the weeks mega might have enough nite pages for the daily to-do lists you mentioned.... Also for the projects, you could have a running to do list on the blank right side of the week... From my observations, you have the books, but maybe flipping their usage and purpose will work better for you.... I hope this helps.
Thanks a lot for the suggestions! I think they make a lot of sense, and as of right now I've already moved into the Weeks (my old media journal) for planning and it works great. I have an old A6 (that used to be my catch-all for a couple of years), might play around with that for a bit to try some things out 😊
I can completely understand the decission to split journalling and planning into two seperate books. I also have them currently in one book but honestly work shifts and daily todo's are not really things I need to save for future generations. So I'm thinking that next year I want a "disposable" planner part that could be a Muji A6 or Moleskine pocket and the journal can be an undated notebook that will last me as long as it lasts. Hope you get to try a Papertess desing.
Yeah, I totally understand that! That's actually also something I was thinking about as well, which books to keep for a long time and which books to maybe not keep at all.
I think it’s great that you’re thinking about what has worked and what has not to make a considered choice for next year. The Take a Note is so simple that I think you could easily replicate its layout in any of the a5 books that you currently own (to save you from buying/shipping). Even though I have no plans to switch anything- I’d like to see more videos on the Papertess planner. Just to look😂
Your discussion on "how much space do I need to journal" is why I am going to try Hobonichi day free next year. It has the "calendex" that I use daily and the monthly that I also use almost daily - & that is big enough for my holidays & appointments. This way I can journal a "line" or 2 pages and it's no big deal. (& I can also decorate a bit without worrying about using the space that I might need for journalling or planning.) I have never had more than one planner before, but I am going to try the horizontal TN for meal planning next year. & on the blank half I can collage.
I'm using the PaperTess Yearly B6 planner this year and I LOVE it. Any of my planning videos from this year will be in that; feel free to check them out. I love how thoughtful you are! Good luck on your planner peace :)
Glad you like it! 😄The cats are fuzzy stickers that I put directly on the cover of the Hobonichi weeks, and then I put a regular clear cover on top for protection. I bought the stickers years ago, but I think the brand is G.C. Press.
Use Take a note in Sterling ink to replicate a little bit. You have it anyway so, you might as well use it and see if you like it. I just think I won't dabble into plamners anymore. I miss bullet journalling way to much xD hopefully in may next year I will have my very own bullet journal
That's true, it's quite easy to just try out layouts on the blank pages. And the flexibility and customizability of a bullet journal is truly unparalleled, I can see why you like it!
Love your Weeks cover ❤ Still time to go back to it later in the year so if it isn't working right now it's ok, but I'd be tempted to prop it up on the desk just for the decorative cute/cheerful factor haha 😊 After years of experimenting I'm now simply a diehard Hobonichi fan here so I'd suggest trying the Cousin, but still interesting to see other brands in use so thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you! Right now it is indeed just sitting on my desk as decoration, haha. I have tried the Cousin in the past and liked the types of pages a lot. I'm just not a fan of the design, such as the use of red in monthlies/weeklies and the colours for the daily pages. That's why I'm a big fan of the Common Planner, as everything is in greyscale. I can totally see why you love Hobonichi, though! 😊
@@ruonpaper Ah yes that makes sense. I'd prefer the Cousin without the colour too. I always prefer the English 'Planner' (with the black cover) over the regular A6 for that reason. But having used the Cousin a couple of years I don't seem to notice the colour too much any more 😊
“It’s so cute!!! It’s so cute!” Nah you’re so cute! Lololl 😂❤ I’m also so excited for all the new releases!! Come September and we will be window shopping and go crazy again for fresh new planners lol. It’s always so hard to keep up with planning that I end up just using the blank unused pages to write random things. I’m not cut out to be a planner girl unfortunately lol.
There's just something so irresistible about pre-printed planners! I think using the unused pages for random things is a great way to use up nice paper, though 😊
I have already checked that one out as I'm always influenced by Brontë, LOVE her videos. However, I have fallen in love with thin paper and Hemlock & Oak uses quite a thick, 120gsm paper. The books look very nice, though
Hi Twine & Paper is coming out with a hybrid B6 planner that might work for you. I have pre-ordered one for next year in hopes it will work for me. Good luck!😃
Hello! I am using the take a note sort of the way you want to use yours next year. For keeping track media I consume and the daily (half page) for journaling, it is working so good for that. Also, I started the year with the B6 PaperTess Design as a planner but did not work for me, the main reason the paper.. but I still have it an I am willing to send it your way, just need you to pay the shipping (not sure were you are locate it) I am on the US - Texas. Let me know. Love your videos and your hand writing.
Thank you for your comment! 😊 I'm glad to hear the Take a Note is working well for you. I'm located in Europe, so unfortunately the shipping from the US is quite high. So maybe I'll see if someone in Europe has one or I might try the undated PaperTess Designs. Thank you so much for your offer, though, appreciate it!
I mean, your Weeks is very cute! I was really inspired by your media journal and was thinking about maybe adding it to my 2025 line up, but I've been struggling to even note down the tv shows and movies I'm watching on a weekly basis. 😅 I've been seeing a lot of intriguing content around the Take A Note planner. I agree it's gorgeous, and I think the thicker paper might help with some of the ghosting / bleeding issues that some people have been experiencing with Hobonichi's TRS paper? I hope you're able to find a 2024 version of that or the PaperTess planner to test it out from someone. If I see anyone selling one, I'll point them in your direction. :)
Thank you for your comment! I totally understand that struggle. When you have a lot of time and inspiration on your hands, an elaborate media journal is so much fun. But when you're busy and don't have much time or creative energy, it can easily start to feel like a chore. I'm very interested to try out the thicker Tomoe River Paper, on paper it sounds like a good balance between nice and thin but less ghosting/bleeding, but I've never tried it before. 😊
Last year i used HB A6 but not work well much😅 and i've been using the Take a Note A5 for the past 6 months (you can check it out on my channel). I really love their layout and the TR 80gsm paper quality. And I will continue using the TaN planner next year❤😁

OMG WHERE IS THAT KITTY CLEAR COVER FROM!! It’s precious!! 🖤🖤

It's very easy to replicate the TAN and PaperTess layouts on your Common Planner if you're unable to find anything.
I might just try that!
Bronte Swanick mentioned Hemlock and Oak, a Canadian planner brand in her most recent RUclips.
I have already checked that one out as I'm always influenced by Brontë, LOVE her videos. However, I have fallen in love with thin paper and Hemlock & Oak uses quite a thick, 120gsm paper. The books look very nice, though
