    Just a friendly reminder that this piece is named the Kreutzer because Beethoven got into a drunken fight with George Bridgetower, the violinist to whom the sonata was originally dedicated, after Bridgetower insulted the woman that Beethoven liked. He named it after Kreutzer, a better violinist, purely out if spite. The more you know!

    I was struggling, untalented, unmotivated lacking the ability to count after 8 years of playing the instrument. Watching Shigatsu made me realize that without emotion, music cannot tell its story. I learned this piece after 2 months. The practice was frustrating, but the results justified my near decade of work put into violin. Thanks you, Shigatsu, for reviving classical music for this generation.

    • @isthisfeitan
      @isthisfeitan 7 лет назад +88

      People should understand that this piece is very difficult technically. Beginners shouldn't try something like this just yet; keep on practicing starting simple and going up in difficulty as you move on. If you wanted to learn this as your first piece, it'd probably take years.

Now I play stuff more along the lines of this. I'm not NEARLY this good, I haven't even been playing for 2 years yet. But this anime helped me remember to add emotion to my music, and that it means the world to the audience, and that they can tell. I absolutely love all the music from this anime, from the actual soundtrack, to the songs they played. I will NEVER let this anime go.

    • @pornstarnarek
      @pornstarnarek 8 лет назад +9

      The Megan Pixel She doesn't have the quality to be a teacher so she shouldn't. Being mad and visually upset has no benefiting effect for a person teaching any subject, so a teacher who does that a lot should switch jobs, or work on their problems back at 'home' (which are the roots of those negative behaviors.) So try not to be emotionally swayed if she does that. As long as you're enjoying drawing, and using her criticism to fix your art, then you're doing everything right so don't let it upset you

      Same
      I though studying music in college would be fun. After all I love violin.
      Once I started college I learned that music majoring in college is not for your enjoyment. You have rules that didn't exist when it was just casual. You're being held to the standards of "masters" who have 10+ years of experience. Just because it was something I was passionate about did not mean I excelled. I quit and now play for fun. I don't need to be perfect with my intonation or my bowing. No one docks points for smiling. Not everyone is cut out for pro music.
      I will never have the finesse of someone who's studied 20 years. I won't and I'm okay with it. I just have fun now and leave it to the people who can handle the harsh criticisms

      it sounds similar but they aren't comparable, it's much more precise and true to the original piece will this is just a interpretation, i don't think that this would be acceptable as a recording of the song, it's not the song this song is it's own version and isn't really comparable.

      Classical Music always sounds different depending on the performer, I only listen to certain versions of certain songs, because I don't like the others. For example I prefer the Shigatsu version of Love's Sorrow and 'Wrong Notes' Etude but I don't really prefer the Shigatsu for any of the others.

      There are tons of renditions of this song by other musicians on RUclips. You, however, chose to listen to the video that is the rendition shown in the anime, has "Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso" in the title, and has a background and thumbnail of a character from the show. You can't honestly have expected it to not be full of comments about the show.

    I started to attempt this music about two weeks ago, I figured out where I should fit in page turns and listened to the recording multiple times to know the pace when reading the music/ being able to catch myself when I make a mistake. I have about half of the first of 6.25 pages (because the 7th page only has 3 lines XD) for the first movement.

    I'm probably the only one who found this video just by searching the name of this piece and wasn't looking for a piece that was connected to whatever anime this was featured in xD I was just looking for a new piece to learn in violin. I do like this piece though, so I think I'll learn it :D

      Mikuro Amami Thanks! I'll probably watch it then after I finish the current anime I'm watching and the next one I plan on watching.
      This piece wasn't too bad actually. There's some octave figuring that's pretty tricky, but other than that, it's fairly straight forward. I haven't try playing with a pianist, not sure if I ever will (since I'm just learning this piece for fun now, though I might go back to this piece for a future performance.. idk xD)

      +Swag Master OJ I know. I downloaden the sheets in the Internet like two weeks again and tried to play some parts. Like you said, some parts aren't to hard, just a bit fast, but thats okay. But I'm terrible at playing the beginning for exampleand all that octave-stuff. And I hate it when you first play normal the pizzcato and than you have to switch to playing normal really fast again.(。ŏ﹏ŏ)
      I'm currently bussy with some pieces I currently play (for school and an ochertra), but I after that I would like to ask my teacher if I could play that :)
      ( I hope my english was alright)

    • @OAJpnh
      @OAJpnh 8 лет назад

      +Mikuro Amami (alright enough for me to understand ~) I'm alright when it comes to fast passages, but when it comes to octaves (with string crossing) then not so much.
      I don't have anything to really work on other than audition music (since I'll be auditioning for the philharmic of my city soon) it's not a super challenging orchestra but much better than my college orchestra.

    I was 11 when I watched Your Lie In April, I only watched a few episodes but watching Kaori play, I thought she looked so pretty. I wanted to be just like that and so I got a violin and started playing! I might not be as good as this yet, but I’ve kept it up for 7 years now, and someday I’ll master this as a reminder for why I started playing ^^
