    And then the older generation who built this country are freezing to death only eating one meal a day and cannot afford any luxuries nursing homes try there damn hardest to give good care but are so undefended amd understaffed it's disgraceful

    • @katharineeavan9705
      @katharineeavan9705 Год назад +23

      They can afford freaking spas in their second homes but care workers should work all hours for pittance in unsafe, understaffed conditions to barely manage to keep older folks alive while the (mostly privately owned) care homes drain away the houses and savings the residents worked their whole lives for. We have a care staffing crisis and yet the norm is still minimum wage for a vital service that should be giving people quality of life for the massive amounts of money they have to pay for it, but is barely managing a rushed bed wash in the morning with no spare seconds even for conversation.
      We already knew Rishi has no working class friends, because if he did they'd have decked him so hard he ended up in a care home himself. Same goes for most of those in power.

      Care homes in my area i know are around 1,000/1,500 a week, like who can pay that even with help, it's too much greed from the company's themselves and the councils, I can't stand these politicians absolute scumbags

    • @katharineeavan9705
      @katharineeavan9705 Год назад +20

      @@aktlr-qf2vt We can't. Carers allowance isn't enough to live on, so we have to work full time, which means we can't be there to care for our elderly. Those who try usually end up sick and unable to work themselves after a few years of thankless drudgery.
      Care homes aren't supposed to be abandonment, anyway. They're supposed to help give residents back levels of independence and social lives they were no longer able to maintain in their own homes. A full care team in a building specifically adapted for people with age related disabilities to be able to do as much as possible for themselves is almost always going to be better at fostering independence, quality of life and self esteem than being sat in your kids' spare room and becoming dependent on them for your every need. Unfortunately, that isn't what most care homes are, even though it's what they're supposed to be.
      Plus, not everyone wants to have their kids look after them even if those kids are willing and able.

      Boris Johnson, partygate, he partied whilst every one was in lockdown. He couldn't stop lying about pretty much everything. His cabinet started to resign around him and he basically was forced to quit.
      Liz Truss, came in and tried to impose trickle down economics on the public, didn't go down too well. Then just didn't listen to any of her advisors and turned out to be useless. So she had to resign.
