1:29 - Blonde roast is good! I used to go as dark as possible, but then I learned a little bit about how coffee beans are roasted. As it turns out, the lighter roasted beans (blonde roast) actually tend to have more caffeine than the darker roasted beans. Apparently, a lot of the caffeine is lost in the darker roasts (due to the roasting process). Moreover, I found the lighter roasts to be less sour/acidic in flavor than the darker roasts.

There's only one exception I can think of. At one point in time in my life, I ordered the darkest roast available at a coffee shop in South Korea. I drank it black. It was the best dark roast coffee I've ever had. It had a strong, rich flavor, but it wasn't sour, it didn't upset my stomach, and it didn't leave me feeling jittery afterward.
