Love this movie! Great soundtrack. I was a young woman when it came out and I’ve always said “when I grow up I want to be Ruth Gordon. I’m old now and I think I’m pretty close to my goal!
Saw the film at 19, went right over my dumb head. At 20, Ruth Gordon spoke at my 1985 graduation from AADA in NY. Saw the film in middle age and was bowled over. Now it's one of my 2 favorite films of all time, along with "Synechdoche, New York"
My favourite film ever. Watched lots of films that featured Bud Cort after watching this. Ruth Gordon brilliant. Music great. Just love this black comedy so much.
Best film ever! I ❤ it. I liked it already when I was a young girl, now, as an elder lady myself I find it sooo great. Espacially the scene, when she throws his bracelet with written on "Harold loves Maude" away into the water saying: "So I know always where it is."
I have watched this movie for 50 years. I return to it over and over especially when facing adversity. Cat translates its overarching themes beautifully through his songs. It’s NEVER too late. Trust me on this. 🦊🖤🐾☕️🚬
This movie and I go all the way back when I saw this in the theater with my girlfriend, Elaine who picked this one out. As Elaine and I walked out of the theater, I didn't know if I liked it or not and thought about it all weekend. By the time Monday rolled around, I decided I really liked it. The more I thought about it and the more I rewatched it from time to time, the more I loved it. This was way before you could rent videos at your local Blockbuster. I always wanted to find the soundtrack to Harold and Maude but it was never available in the USA for some reason. Eventually I was able to compile my own Harold and Maude soundtrack from the Tea for the Tillerman album and Cat Stevens Greatest Hits, Volume 2. Took a while, though.
This movie is sooooooooooo utterly underrrated . . . mystic message -> Think obout our finiteness or our immortality (aka etheric / astral body a la Rudolf Steiner ! ! ) Wishing you BIG LUCK !
@@AL_THOMAS_777 Thank you for wishing me BIG LUCK. Right back atcha. Many years ago in Southern California, near where I live, I saw Bud Cort working out at a fitness center. I instantly knew who it was and thought about saying something, but I decided to let him have his privacy.

Have never seen this movie and didn’t know when I clicked on it in my recommended, to listen to the song, that there’d be someone hanging from a rope depicted. These kinds of things need to be labeled in the title. My sister hung herself. :’(

"Must Watch" film. Well worth the time. The food for thought from just under 3 minutes should tell you.
I just saw this movie just 2 weeks ago and I love it😇
This film makes me laugh and cry 😆😭
Me too 😄
A wonderful, yet perfect match, huh . . . .
In the end, rays of hope illuminated Harold's path as he learned to engage with life and transcend his nihilism through communication.
Ich werde Euch nie vergessen. Im Regen....Germany Bavaria...1000 Daumen nach oben❤️

Best movie ever ❤️❤️❤️
Man, what a classic.
Ruth Gordon was so adorable......
Oh gosh Ruth, showed me how to live my life,as to be a free spirited woman . Cat Stevens has always sang what the world was going through
The movie indeed has been THE inspiration for many "aquarius folks" to be (utterly) FREE . . . (Cat Stevens)
I love it
Gefühlte 300 x gesehen! Wollte mir damals einen alten ausrangierten Bently kaufen um ihn als Leichenwagen umbauen zu lassen! Voll meschugge! 😂
There has never ever been an UNIMOG funeral car !
This movie was a trip.

Maude always made me think of the older version of Holly Golightly.
Ruth Gordon was such class… really made the film along with the Cat Stevens music.

Great film!
I was near Harold’s age when the movie came out. Nearing Maude’s age now.

Sure, sure, sure it's a great movie and all but you haven't lived until you've seen "Harold And Maude" in a cemetery.

did the cities really used to be filled with garbage like that or is this a Hollywood thing?
This isn't true at all for germany. They don't let you.
