This was a life changing experience for me. I already loved Simon and garfunkel as a 15year old but seeing this film and also being to visit America that summer really made my year. 50 years on I think they are still my favourite performers
One of my goals, when saw that movie back in '67, was to drive an Alfa convertible across the Golden Gate with Mrs. Robinson on the radio. But by the time I got out to that part of the world I was pushing 30 Alfas left the American market. I had a crappy interview for an Airline Pilots job in Fresno and didn't want to hang around so I rented a car and drove the SF to fly back home. I got to drive over the bridge, Simon and Garfunkel on the CD player the car was a Toyota Camry. My employer asked how did it go I told him the whole thing, and we then when out for a steak dinner. A week later I got checked out in the Beech 99 and I flew that airplane for 6 years. All in all, it worked out pretty well. Never been back to SF, Fishermans Wharf was pretty good I had a fresh barbecued salmon and some clam chowder.
It comes from the time when I was young, full of dreams and thinking that I could rule the world. Dreams went out, but this song keeps on doing my head and my heart.

“Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?” ― Tennessee Williams.
I love it when actresses get a chance to reveal how women operate in these circumstances; you know when they want something from a man. Every move she makes, every bit of her wardrobe, expression, cigarette, moving, stopping, sitting, leg up, and then smiling at a younger man. She's an older woman who the actress uses to every advantage to communicate in every way that she can harness your attention and make you want her. Essence is more important than beauty. Bancroft had essence.
As good as Dustin was in this movie, I think now its Ann that really sets it apart. There is one scene when he asks her what her major was in collage, and she says art, and her face just goes blank to show her character had dreams and goals, that will never be realized. One of my favorite actresses.

When Paul Simon wrote this song it was first titled "Mrs. Roosevelt". Eleanor Roosevelts father died from alcoholism and it was at a time rumored that she had a secret addiction too. Thats what the song was initially about. The lyrics get a very different meaning if you read them that way.
I too had a fascination with older women when I was in high school. College. I ended up dating a few older than me. It was great. Love this movie. One of the best ever made.
Watching this video reminds me just how excellent of a performance Anne Bancroft gave in The Graduate. And what young man wouldn't have wanted to have their own Mrs. Robinson?
I watched this movie with our then babysitter Linda when it first came out on TV. So late 60's, early 70's. I was maybe 8 years old. The next day I was humming some of the songs & my mother whipped around toward me, wanting to know how I knew of this music. We never saw Linda again. She got a phone call later that day from mom saying she's fired and to stay away from us kids! LOL...
@Josianenah, not a good idea, I had a friend and his mom showed up one day when I was about 21. I thought about it a few seconds and then slapped myself, not to suggest I believe she would have agreed then, but I'm glad it didn't happen. too creepy.
yeah right, came to prefer older women in my early to midtwenties, they did not seem to play the silly games as young girls often do. And secondly were so much more experienced than their young counterparts. Good times, enjoy while you can.
I love this song but when he is alone with Mrs. Robinson I d much rather hear the dialogue between them than the song. I can still hear the back and forth in my head. I’m saying Go for it Benjamin. She’s HOT!!!

Hey, hey, hey
Sitting on a sofa on a Sunday afternoon
Going to the candidates debate
Laugh about it, shout about it
When you've got to choose
Every way you look at this, you lose
Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio?
Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you
Woo, woo, woo
What's that you say, Mrs. Robinson?
Joltin' Joe has left and gone away
Hey, hey, hey
Super! Brilliant, beautiful song and creation. Thanks my dear Tina 💕
So they are......
@@joanaisabelcolltruyol3090 aaaaaaaááaaaaáa.

They are cool

Wonderful film clip from a wonderful film. Two amazing actors. Every young man’s dream. Every old man’s dream - in reverse. Love Anne Bancroft.
Memories, that's what this film does for me, obviously ground braking in it's day. Amazing how music defines a film.
l I love the bit where they run off at the end at the wedding, anyway great film thanks for upload
Hermosa mujer...
Inolvidables !! Que razon que llevas !!
When Paul Simon wrote this song it was first titled "Mrs. Roosevelt". Eleanor Roosevelts father died from alcoholism and it was at a time rumored that she had a secret addiction too. Thats what the song was initially about. The lyrics get a very different meaning if you read them that way.
Seriously? Wow, I never never knew that...and you're right, that adds a whole new level of meaning...
I love how country songs tell stories of love, life, and resilience - they feel so authentic.
One of the greatest movies of all time about the 60s
Ann Bancroft really was beautiful women. She died way to soon! Mel Brooks loves her to this day.
The sixties would not have been without Simon & Garfunkel
This songs conveys a lot at the time I was a brat, looking to invite and go out with older ladies.))
me too...............
I too had a fascination with older women when I was in high school. College. I ended up dating a few older than me. It was great. Love this movie. One of the best ever made.
How pleasant it is to recall those years! I mean the years when the song & me were young ;)
Anne Bancroft is magnificent. A gorgeous cougar ahead of her time.
but before yours?
Watching this video reminds me just how excellent of a performance Anne Bancroft gave in The Graduate. And what young man wouldn't have wanted to have their own Mrs. Robinson?
Some songs just transgress time... Sunday afternoon with my girlfriend n dog n a drink n enjoying this song and life...im 50😊
Way past time for you to learn the difference between 'n' and 'in'!
LOL...
Love this song dear Tina, you know all good tunes, good video to,miss you, thank you sweetie ❤️😇🙏
Masterpiece! And the movie as well!
What a song ! I will listen to it all.day long!!!A French Man!
What a beautiful song, so nicely, so enjoyable, with this songs.
You did really great. Really enjoy your Lovely song. Love you as always.
What an awesome film! All actors play their parts so of the charts cool!!
I used to sing this song as a child and then one day it became so relevant...I am Mrs Robinson love young men
@Josianenah, not a good idea, I had a friend and his mom showed up one day when I was about 21. I thought about it a few seconds and then slapped myself, not to suggest I believe she would have agreed then, but I'm glad it didn't happen. too creepy.
It’s magical and I wouldn’t change a thing Fabulous 💕
i dated older men, and got tired of them. now i too have become msr robinson, and there's no going back, ever!
yeah right, came to prefer older women in my early to midtwenties, they did not seem to play the silly games as young girls often do. And secondly were so much more experienced than their young counterparts. Good times, enjoy while you can.
Great song + great actors and actresses + great movie makers = GREATNESS !!!!
Anne Bancroft looked so amazing in this movie. So beautiful.
Great song……I have never seen the movie. On my bucket list. 😋👍
Lovely song. Saw the movie "The graduate" in 1969. Sixties were so special....!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic song. The song would have been big without the movie but the movie would have been lifeless without the song.
Anne Bancroft's facial expression during that kiss is priceless -D
Hi Sophie
I love this song but when he is alone with Mrs. Robinson I d much rather hear the dialogue between them than the song. I can still hear the back and forth in my head. I’m saying Go for it Benjamin. She’s HOT!!!
Whoever decided to put the comments besides the songs playlist is pure genius man, or just beautiful just beautiful keep up the good work!!!
Oh well... Movie is a class!!! And Simon and Garfunkel.... treasure of the U S A !!!!!! Dreva.. love from Australia ❤️
