As a born Detroiter and someone who lived within a mile of Teamsters Local 299 in Det., I am very familiar with Mr Hoffa and have been since I was 11 yrs old. In 1975 when Hoffa disappeared, I was 22 yrs old and recall that day vividly because I had to go to the ER at Sinai hospital that day . As to where he made the phone call, it makes more sense that he would have used a phone outside the restaurant, since he would have still been looking out for the party or parties he was expecting to meet .He certainly would not have been able to see him/them from inside the place, especially from the basement .
Thanks for the coverage..the mystery always was apart of my growing years here in Michigan. The restaurant we went a lot back in the day and was always one of the main topics. Thanks for visiting!
Still one of the great intrigues of American history, simply because there's no reason for it still to be a secret as to what happened to him - and yet it still is. With all the things that are now known about the mafia and the rest of the history of that time, why is it still a mystery where JRH is? Good video Scott
The fact that his body is missing, at least as far as we know, is telling. Whoever killed him, made sure the other side knew who killed him. If not, just shoot the motherfucker and leave him on the street, They did not, the right people have to know. It was a warning, we can remove this asshole from the table, no trace, now what do you do? And if the mob killed him, why didnt they make it obvious but not provable? It looks like Mr Hoffa was a small boy in the big boys game, he was killed and they all knew why and who, and went on from there. And why not, the feds may remove him, just to show the mobsters and the crime familys (like the Daleys in Chicago) that you need to behave. Yes you can sell drugs and keep females as your property (prostitutes) but keep out of federal politics. Why not? That Hoffas body was not found, tells us that a serious message was given. Very, serious.
I would say that first of all, if an individual is still on the street and in the mafia, the number 1 rule is keep your mouth shut and most likely the individuals who carried out the hit have passed away and if any of them are still alive, they don't want to spend whatever years they have left in the joint.
Thank you for showcasing this even though I live here there's a lot of history here as you said a lot of history is not just about the Motor City but it's about the people who built Motor City. Thank you for all you do. And thank you for all those days with Adam the Woo it helped me ReDiscover your channel because the algorithm that RUclips uses doesn't always give you the proper notifications. Wow Scotty. What a story. This one got to me and I had to read and watch a documentary on Jimmy Hoffa immediately. He lead the life didn’t he? He spoke with conviction and some people didn’t like him. The locations you showed brought the story (Jimmy Hoffa) back to life. His disappearance theories so horrendous. One really wants to know what really happened to him. So many theories and the investigation still open may bring out some truth someday. It will close the chapter for many, especially his family. Thanks Scotty. Take care ❤️✌🏼💕
What a true Detroiter Mr. Hoffa was! The man is a legend!! I grew up hearing the name as a young child here in Detroit! That pic of him flipping of Robert Kennedy is a trip!! RIP Mr. Hoffa.
@Aimz Z I have seen a picture of him giving the finger to SOMEBODY (THAT was obvious), I just didn't know who (I mean, it could've even been some "nobody" who pissed him off)!

I truly don't think he is anyplace that he would ever be found. Think about it. Why would you hide a person like that in a place that he would be found at any point in time? It is most likely his body was burned in a crematorium or disposed in a similar manner. Someone like that you would NEVER want to be found even by accident. I work with his great nephew so this topic is very interesting to me.
I remember when I was young, my dad telling me that when Jimmy Hoffa disappeared at that time they're was a lot of construction of bridges and overpasses in Toronto. The story goes that they brought him here and dropped him in one of those cylinders that was eventually filled up with cement, so somewhere along one of the 400 highways,he's incase in concrete holding up a bridge or overpass. R.I.P. Jimmy Hoffa, one day we will know the truth.
After JRH got in the car with the Andrettas he was taken 5 minutes away to 680 West Long Lake, the Licata home. He was killed there and his body taken to Central Sanitation and placed in their incinerator. His body was gone from the earth within 3 hours of his death.

redcomic619 I agree. The book was incredible, we will never know if it is 100% truth but Charles Brandt layed out a brilliant set of facts and sources backing up the information. Wow, Scott another awesome video!! 😎 I have always heard his body was buried in a wall or in a floor... Sadly Another unsolved mystery... God bless you and keep on keeping on sweet man.. 😇😊
Hey Scott this has always been a big mystery with a bunch of crazy theories. There is a theory that he was abducted by UFOs and later used as an experiment for the national reconnaissance office. The main thing many people talked about was the fact that he's a union president who aligned himself with organized crime and used the money from Union Workers to help organized criminals. That's why many people lost respect for him. It's too bad...... I can't imagine if I was his son. Thanks again, be safe and we'll see you later!
Excellent video, as always. I've studied lots of Hoffa material over the years and the Frank Sheeran story matches the circumstances of Hoffa's disappearance. The FBI always had Sheeran at the top of their suspect list and his boss, Russell Bufalino, had the motive and power to order the hit. Most significantly, Hoffa would NEVER have gotten into a car unless someone he trusted was also there. Hoffa trusted Sheeran with his life and, wrongly, believed that Sheeran was more loyal to him than he was to the mob. As for the DNA found inside the home, the fact that it doesn't match Hoffa's DNA isn't important, imo. If the home was used for the Hoffa hit, it's likely the same home would have been used for other hits as well. What IS important is that blood was found underneath the floor in the home's vestibule, the same area where Sheeran claimed he shot Hoffa (which would also have been where other hits in the home were likely carried out and/or the body/bodies would be laying).
Out of all the stories that have been told about Hoffa's demise the Sheeran account makes the most sense. Whatever happened to Hoffa it happened quickly and proves you can keep a secret.
I sometimes have weird ghost visit dreams if I watch your graveyard visits before I fall asleep. One time it was Elvis. When I woke up the foot rest was pushed out and I never sit at that end. True story. Peace.
Wow, a lot more info on Hoffa then I knew of. VERY interesting, and so cool to see the places you visited! One thing I look forward to when my times up is finding out what really happened to Hoffa, who really killed JFK, and did Marilyn really die by her own hand, etc., etc.. @@leethomas5830 I agree he was taken by frank to 680 w.long lake from red fox.But then taken to a foundation of a new building in detroit, the gmc renaissance center.with concrete ready to pour. Hoffa was picked up at the Machus Red Fox at 2:45pm, driven 2 miles north to 680 W. Long Lake, garroted while walking from the Marquis into the garage, then disposed of in Hamtramck at Central Sanitation. His body ceased to exist on Earth within 60 minutes of driving away.

It was a three point plan. The hit team, prob Sheeran or Tony Pro.Then the disposal team who got rid of the body. These two teams didn't know eachothers actions. Lastly the mob convinced certain wiseguys of what really happened to Hoffa, only prob was there was scores of different stories, each wiseguy believed the story that they were told or purposely spread the wrong version of events. The perfect plan.
Scott, I wanted to bring to your attention the website of "Historicalarials.com", you can enter any address, and it will appear on the map, and then you can view historical arial photographs typicallu going back to the early 50's, as every 10 years or so the tax authority will take arial photographs for property tax assessments. I use it all the time to get a vibe for a place in history. I can see the strip mall on the map in 1973, great arial view. Hope this helps, love the channel bud!
I don’t think we will ever know, perhaps but I doubt it! In some ways it would be nice to know, in other ways, that’s for his family to decide! I personally didn’t know him or any of his family, thst I know if! Great work as always Scott! Take care and get back home, shady misses you! ♥️
I'd like to think that Jimmy Hoffa didn't die. There's a video of him on The Dick Cavett Show which originally aired on October 31, 1973 and Hoffa struck me as someone who was intelligent enough to stage his own disappearance. Could he still be alive at 108? I highly doubt it, but stranger things have happened. I've been to Detroit, but didn't stay. I got lost at the time and completely forgot about Hoffa having personal ties to The Motor City. You've inspired me to go back one of these days.
Thank you for this video. I was a Hoffa researcher a decade before "The Irishman" was ever thought of. I have been near Bloomfield many times as my father worked under Hoffa through Ford Motor Company of Michigan in Westland MI for many years.
The fact that they found blood under the floor in the home, even though it wasn’t Hoffa’s, makes Sheeran’s story even more believable. It demonstrates that the mob occasionally used the home for hits.
If you read the article on Jimmy Hoffa, it says he made the phone call at Damman Hardware which was located behind the Machus Red Fox restaurant. So it sounds like the call wasn't from the basement of the restaurant after all.
Just stumbled on to your vid about Hoffa. I haven't thought about the Jimmy Hoffa case for years. Until the barrel with a body inside showed up at lake mead from the 70s. I would've bet the farm it was Hoffa & had mob-hit written all over it lol. I would've lost that bet though. Awesome vids 👏👏🎬🤘
I Lived in the neighborhood Behind that Restaurant during the mid. 60s and we would take a trail that would take us to that Restaurant so we could go to a store in the plaza next to the Restaurant! I was young like 5 or 6 years old and had to be with my older brother or sister!
Used to pass by the original, Machus Red Fox all the time, when i lived in Mich in the 70s My parents used to have a Machus red fox ashtray. I lived in Milford, another place they thought he was.
Hey Scott. Look into my Great Uncle Santo Perrone. He was in the Sicilian mafia in Detroit. Back in April of 1948 he placed a unsuccessful "hit" on Walter Reuther. I'm not saying he had anything to do with Hoffa but my uncle was a powerful man.
I knew ur great uncle, one night in a bar there was a guy who told me to "go get my fucking shine box", we then waited until the bar closed and me and ur uncle and another buddy beat that guy and stabbed him and buried him in northern new york, but then we had to move the body because they were building new apartments where we buried him. Your uncle was a cool cat
Fantastic video who knows what happened to Jimmy hoffa is he alive is he dead we will never know great to see the restaurant he made the call from and his boyhood home too thanks Scott
Giacalone and Provenzano met with Andy Karagas at Macus a couple days before Hoffa disappeared from there. I drove Andy to that meeting and I sat at another table while they met.
The thing that surprises me the most about it is that someone with as much street sense as Hoffa , didn't sense that the meeting was going to be a hit.. I'm surprised after waiting a few minutes he didn't take off and gotten the hell out of there. .but he was so desperate to get the union back. He should have just let it go. But If he survived that day and left before the meeting participants arrived, who's not to say the mob gets him months later or a year later. If Hoffa would have backed off maybe they leave him alone.
Hey you do a great job on your videos, i just wanted to let you know that sammy the bull Gravano has a podcast where he talks about Jimmy hoffas death. Its called "our thing" podcast
I used to work for a guy on middlebass island (one of ohios erie islands) . While at his house collecting my check, he was telling me that jimmy hoffa has ties with his property. Sure enough, he showed me (and one of the other guys) a few.photos of jimmy hoffa and a coiple other guys in the very living room that we were standing in. He asked us if we wanted to see something else that was interesting. He said we were absolutely not allowed to take pictures either, unfortunately. On the back side of his lot, surrounded by thick woods was a small above ground tomb that said the word "duke" at the top of it. There was also a light fixture at the top of the tomb in which he had recently cut off the electricity from. He said he had gotten it on high authority that thats where jimmy hoffa was burried. Anybody else on that island that knows anout that grave site refuses to talk about it. Id like to see this investigated.
Watched the Irishman recently not knowing it was based on the Jimmy Hoffa story. It's a must see. If you haven't already watched it I strongly suggest it.
That Planet Fitness was Dammans Hardware. That road- Telegraph Road was the inspiration for Dire Straits song Telegraph Road. Legendary Oakland Hills Country club is right around the corner from there. Clubhouse burned to the ground last year.
One of the things that really stuck out to me while watching The Irishman was how they portrayed the Machus Red Fox in the movie. They showed it being out in the remote countryside by itself and not along Telegraph Rd in front of a strip mall. They got the look of the building and front sign pretty well but the location was completely incorrect. Normally Scorsese is a stickler for the little details and normally gets things right but he totally missed the mark on this one.
I love that you showed the photo of the police searching the trunk of the car. Obviously people believing he was put into the trunk. Anyway I look down and see the plate, and “HRH” directly below the trunk. I wonder if that stands for “Hoffa Rode Here.” Obviously i’m not being serious but that popped in my head. I was like whoah kinda creepy. Lol
Noting: this is one of your older videos. That I'm just watching & thank you for sharing. Not just the Mafia he piss off some politicians also maybe knew too much dirt? (there's that) And also a theory where his body could be? Downtown Detroit the Renaissance center was being built at the same time of his disappearance and back then a lot of concrete companies had ties with the Mafia. (Just a Spooky connection) Andiamo restaurant now has a location in the Renaissance center. And in the last few years another theory he's buried in a 50 gallon drum in a scrap yard in New Jersey. There is one fact that we all know Geraldo did not find Jimmy Hoffa. Lol
So I have heard …. Jimmy was killed , put into a car and crushed into a cube then the cube was put into a vat that melts the metal and made into rebar . This info was given to me by one of the “ Family “ .
I am from Windsor Ontario and the big game we use to play was let's find Jimmy Hoffa and I remember when they dug up that backyard was it in the late 80's early 90's I can't remember
Hey Mike I'm from here I can answer that, the two together the one Hoffa was in is for truck drivers the one next door for warehouse workers and the lone building is for medical benefits Im in the 337 union thanks to Mr. Jimmy Hoffa, also auto workers are in the UAW union✌🏻😎 what up Scott you rock brother
Definitely not but I’ve found anyone not from there refers to most of south east Michigan as Detroit. I grew up in Auburn Hills but have lived out of state for years and when people ask where I’m from I usually say Detroit area or suburban Detroit because people don’t know where Auburn Hills is.

Didn't they say they thought he was buried in cement? Great video Scott
I 96 was being poured only 13miles away south of restaurant 🤔 legend says that way truckers can drive over him .
@@leethomas5830 I agree he was taken by frank to 680 w.long lake from red fox.But then taken to a foundation of a new building in detroit, the gmc renaissance center.with concrete ready to pour.
But i have on good authority that tony jack said where he is,(this is pasted from a coversation) .
Ten years after Hoffa disappeared Tony Jack was at a four-day Teamsters conference at the newly opened Omni International Hotel in Detroit.
"Let's take a break, let's get out of here," Tony Jack said during the meeting. An entourage of intimates got up with him. The hotel was across the road from the Renaissance Center, but the two were connected by a long glassed-in walkway that stretched across the 10 lanes and wide centre median of East Jefferson Avenue. Marvin walked beside Tony Jack was standing ready to light his cigar.
When Tony Jack passed the middle point of the bridge, facing the Renaissance Center, he nodded toward the huge tower's foundation.
"Say good morning to Jimmy Hoffa, boys," he said.
"Say good morning to Jimmy Hoffa, boys..."
Hoffa's body rests in the concrete footing of the Renaissance Center, which was under construction at the time of his disappearance.
Theres loads of theorys ,this one is never forced for a reason ,its true.? or is it ,lol.
Always questioned the Hoffa disappearance
This was cool, thanks!
You did such a good job explaineing everything love your channel ✌
Brilliant again scott,

I remember this event from 1975.
It was a HUGE event back then.
"Check my trunk" . . . I love that line.
Very interesting always love your videos
Great video!
Thanks for the content brother 😊

WOW THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! I have always wanted to see the inside of the Machus Red Fox. I think you're a cool guy.
Never heard of that site thank you so much!
@@SCOTTONTAPE just realized the link I sent is to some spam site, but if you google historical aerials" you will find it. Keep up the great work.
Oh! This sounds awesome!
Love this channel
Thank you so much Ashley!
Rip Jimmy great post Scott on tape
Missed this one until right now. Jimmy Hoffa stories are legendary. I enjoyed the movie The Irishman. I paint houses too!
Thanks again. You are a godsend
Really those, your 👍 love how you tell your stories and show the places of what's happened to the people!!! 👍☺️
I don’t think we will ever know, perhaps but I doubt it! In some ways it would be nice to know, in other ways, that’s for his family to decide! I personally didn’t know him or any of his family, thst I know if! Great work as always Scott! Take care and get back home, shady misses you! ♥️
really interesting. Thanks Scott x
Being from nj... with my grandfather owner of racetrack here... we say he was broght to Meadowland..yes setting up a meeting would be a set uo
New sub...love your videos dude!
Thank you for this video. I was a Hoffa researcher a decade before "The Irishman" was ever thought of. I have been near Bloomfield many times as my father worked under Hoffa through Ford Motor Company of Michigan in Westland MI for many years.
Dammans hardware - it was behind the restaurant in the shopping center there. I grew up right there
Scott your very cute! Thanks for the video! I always wondered what happened to Jimmy Hoffa!
Another great story, Scott. RIP Mr. Hoffa.
They will never find him, great mystery. I love you
Jimmy`s gone but never for gotten. Will never know.
17:15 "some say new cars were made out of him, I'm not making this up" lol
Great research! Great vid. You might wanna check out the Mythbusters episode on Hoffa too.
I WAS ONLY 4YRS OLD, I HEARD OF HIM, BUT DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT HIM, THANKS SCOTT
I Lived in the neighborhood Behind that Restaurant during the mid. 60s and we would take a trail that would take us to that Restaurant so we could go to a store in the plaza next to the Restaurant! I was young like 5 or 6 years old and had to be with my older brother or sister!
Used to pass by the original, Machus Red Fox all the time, when i lived in Mich in the 70s
My parents used to have a Machus red fox ashtray. I lived in Milford, another place they thought he was.
I say this theory. He got flipped and he is in witness protection. He became a secret witness behind the scenes and rewarded with a new life.
But probably dead now...in case he is still alive, would be very old!
@@pablotupone4190 Yeah, 108 years old.
Joe Sanford who was Andy Kargas?
The thing that surprises me the most about it is that someone with as much street sense as Hoffa , didn't sense that the meeting was going to be a hit.. I'm surprised after waiting a few minutes he didn't take off and gotten the hell out of there. .but he was so desperate to get the union back. He should have just let it go. But If he survived that day and left before the meeting participants arrived, who's not to say the mob gets him months later or a year later. If Hoffa would have backed off maybe they leave him alone.
Strive for greed. That's what power does
SAY THAT LOUDER!!!
I always heard Jimmy Hoffa was buried under the west end zone of Giants Stadium in New Jersey
Yes, but that looked into and not true.
Lol... Go BIG BLUE!!!
The hardware store would have been where the Planet Fitness is now. That plaza was build around 1968
That Planet Fitness was Dammans Hardware. That road- Telegraph Road was the inspiration for Dire Straits song Telegraph Road. Legendary Oakland Hills Country club is right around the corner from there. Clubhouse burned to the ground last year.
Great video , watch out , you be missing next
One of the things that really stuck out to me while watching The Irishman was how they portrayed the Machus Red Fox in the movie. They showed it being out in the remote countryside by itself and not along Telegraph Rd in front of a strip mall. They got the look of the building and front sign pretty well but the location was completely incorrect. Normally Scorsese is a stickler for the little details and normally gets things right but he totally missed the mark on this one.
Read the book "I heard you paint houses" It will tell you what actually happened. The movie "The Irishman" was total garbage..
Lol
You can see that the parking lot was repainted and the stripes rotated 90* when you see where the car was parked
I didn’t know anything about jimmy hoffa but what interesting videos
You’re right. Even when you’re in the suburbs, it’s Detroit. Once anyone in metro Detroit leaves the area, they are from Detroit not Bloomfield.
Lol
Why did I laugh so hard at the way you said “the worm hole of Hoffa?”
Did you eat there while you was there? Looks very nice.
So I have heard …. Jimmy was killed , put into a car and crushed into a cube then the cube was put into a vat that melts the metal and made into rebar . This info was given to me by one of the “ Family “ .
I am from Windsor Ontario and the big game we use to play was let's find Jimmy Hoffa and I remember when they dug up that backyard was it in the late 80's early 90's I can't remember
why did the Teamsters have three office buildings in the same block? Maybe one was the local for GM workers, one for Ford and one for MOPAR?
Hey Mike I'm from here I can answer that, the two together the one Hoffa was in is for truck drivers the one next door for warehouse workers and the lone building is for medical benefits Im in the 337 union thanks to Mr. Jimmy Hoffa, also auto workers are in the UAW union✌🏻😎 what up Scott you rock brother
That is a nice place
Nice video Scott, very interesting! BTW did you lose weight? Looking thin in the face
Bloomfield Township is not Detroit. LOL but it's all good dude love your videos.
Definitely not but I’ve found anyone not from there refers to most of south east Michigan as Detroit. I grew up in Auburn Hills but have lived out of state for years and when people ask where I’m from I usually say Detroit area or suburban Detroit because people don’t know where Auburn Hills is.
