- In this video, I show my Mora knife collection and chat about their qualities.
I've become quite a Morakniv fan over the last few years. They're not perfect, but i go through the ' pros and cons ' of each one.

Gotta love that accent! Greetings from Bristol (UK). Can't beat a Mora for camping - as you said, ideal for carving and food prep.
nice to listen to that very celtic accent... since I saw Mora's for the first time, I loved them! and as everyone, with time passing by I also formed some sort of collection... all in all if I had to choose just one, I would go for the Companion, since it has the best price-utility ratio. Said this I have to state that my favorite and main knife is the Bushcraft Black. And if I would have to concentrate on a set for some specific tasks I would say that a Companion/Bushcraft would do the woodworking, the carving would go to the 120, a Flex would do the food-prep, and the batoning and heavy tasks would go to the Robust/HD... Besides Mora I also own other swedish knives, like Hultafors, which offers great quality to amazing prices! My next target is however the Terävä Jääkkäripuukko inspired by the cutting edge issued to the Finnish Army... greetings from wild, wet, windy and wonderful Western Patagonia, Chile
I'm glad to hear the HD Companion in carbon rated so highly, as its the only one that I have. Think I'll give it a touch up.
You’ve got a problem, a glorious problem. I only own two moras and love them both. Bloody brilliant collection.
Mora Knives are the best and not just for the price but beef. HC or Stainless Steel. I mean the robust is indestructible as seen in a video with “this knife is indestructible” as the title. They tried hard too.
I do wish there was a $50 or so priced5-6” blade with full range available. Either way, always happy to have two mora clipped together having from my side.
Love your content. You are the kind of down to earth guy I’d love to jump across the pond and come hang out with and get you to teach me some bushcraft skills. Then I’d get you to come to Mississippi, USA and we could do a bit of whitetail deer hunting! Like I say I really enjoy your content thus far. I would love to maybe send you a couple of USA made hatchets and bushcraft type boy’s axes to try. I too have a very good collection of axes and hatchets of all types. I have a True Temper Tomahawk and a True Temper Boy’s axe that my grandfather bought me over 50 years ago now! I used all throughout my Boy Scouts years and then for many ,many more. Now I have a new obsession in part thanks to you, MORA KNIVES! DAMN IT MAN! 😂😂😂(there are a lot worse things a 62 year old guy could spend his hard earned money on these days, but to be fair, my bushcraft knife addiction has been in full swing for about 4 years now. I do like the Mora knives and for the money, the hit way above their weight class! Now saws, I’m thinking of saving my money and just going straight to Sillky saws. )
It’s decades I collect and use knives excessively but 98.3 percent of occasions I unintentionally take my carbon companion to get the job done. And I use to put all my moras around me and check them all once or twice a week.

Moras are awesome. I live in Finland, here there are Moras everywhere. I have quite a large collection of really old ones that I have acquired here and there. I use the Mora basic every day at work but tend to use more Puukkos in general.

I've been a knife collector/user since 6th grade and for years I blew off mora knives. I thought they looked more like kitchen knives than real working blades.
A couple of years ago I decided to get one to use as a kitchen knife because of so many people saying good things about them. It took me awhile to warm up to it but eventually I started using it for things I didn't want to use my good knives for. After a few months of using it I truly understood how good they really are. I've got a half dozen of them now and use them for pretty everything except for things I need a bigger knife to do. You've got a nice collection of them. I just picked up one of their carving knives and really like it as well. I wish I would've tried them sooner.
Pretty much exactly like me. I'll admit, I'm a knife snob. I'd only want expensive, custom knives. Spent an absolute fortune on them. I can honestly say, if I could do it all over again, I'd buy a mora and that would be enough.

I sort of got into things from a different point of view. The best fixed blades I could get hold of were Sheffield or American made hunting knives or military Kabars back in the day. I was a skint kid so most of these were battered second hand things. The idea you could buy good knives brand new for all sorts of uses when the Mora's came along and not spend loads of money was a total revelation. Still haven't spent more than £80 on a knife and I'm good with that.

Nice presentation. I like to hear your opinions on various aspects. I LOVE the More spoon knives (if you can only have one get the 106). I often buy the blank 106 and fashion my own handle and leather sheath. One suggestion: could you hold the knives still as possible for as long as you're talking a about it? It's usually only in focus for a spit second, then I rewind and pause to see it closely. Thanks and cheers!

Nice collection. The only critique I can make is to advise that the orange/black knife right after the 510 is actually a Clipper, not a Companion. As is the green/black one right after that. Very nice leather sheaths towards the end, also.

Moras are great. Even so I own a lot of more expensive knives they just work sooooooo good.
I've also got a lot of expensive knives, but it's a mora i use must of the time.
One of many great vidios studying you spoon carving techniques and so far so good just want to ask you what feels best in your hand in-between the mora companion and the mora classic would love your opinion 👍
The companion is my favourite. Fantastic value for money.

I like the accent
i love my old mora companion MG carbon, recently i bought the HD version but haven't tried it yet, still using my old one and i hesitate to change cause never felt underknifed with the old one even though i have lot of other more expensive knives. Is it worth the upgrade to the heavy duty or will i lost some carving properties with the more thick blade of the HD? Any thoughts?
For carving, you will lose some feel with the hd as its a thicker blade. However, they're cheap enough so give it a go.

I've been arguing back and forth on whether to get the Mora Garberg you may have made my mind up, I have loads of Mora's I've collected over the years, they're so easy to get a great edge on them. Did you keep the secondary bevel on your Garberg or take it to a zero scandi, I did this with my Mora robust and it transformed the knife.😁
I sharpened it as soon as I bought it. It’s a great knife.

i want to know why some people prefer carbon
I prefer the carbon version because it has a nicer ‘feel’. Carbon steel is easier to sharpen and take a beautiful edge. Each to their own, I suppose.
@@welshwoodsman i bought Terava Jakaripuuko in 80CrV2 and mora 511 carbon because i thought they had good edge retention and toughness.
then i learned in knife steel nerds website:
1.that 1084 and 80CrV2 have almost double the toughness of 1095 with same edge retention
2.that stainless steels had better edge retention
3.that some stainless steels have even better toughness than 1084 and 80CrV2.
for example i bought Mora companion stainless because it said there that AEB-L, 14C28N, 12C27 and 13C26 all have better toughness AND edge retention than 1084 and 80Crv2.
i kind of feel like i just assumed for so long that carbon had to be better because it sacrificed corrosion resistance but i was just wrong all this time.
thats why i asked.
i guess that it makes sense that carbon can feel nicer or be sharper or easily be stropped back.
im trying to think of a reason to keep using my Terava in 80CrV2 after i get the Companion is 12C27/14C28N.....
i guess i will only use Companion from now on if it has more toughness more edge retention and even stainless (which i wouldnt normally even look at)

No I haven't. I wanted one of the new anniversary edition first run of numbered ones. Sadly mora wouldn't post to the UK so had to lose out. Good old brexit 😪
