  • I clean and sharpen two old blunt and rusty mora's, I show a few techniques how to do this without power tools.
    I also do a slight spine modification to my Fallkniven H1 3G and show you the convex grind sharpening technique of "mouse pad" ..

    Nice! My favorite way to clean rust off knives and axes is to hit the spots with 2k or 3k sandpaper as soon as you see rust form, and then rub in some Flitz by hand to "polish" it up. Quick, easy and the finish is pretty! If you'd like to keep the patina, skip the sandpaper, and just buff it well with Flitz by hand and it will keep the darker patina but remove the red rust.

      I use an 8×2 Norton Crystalon Fine stone (silicon carbide) for 5 minutes and a soft Arkansas stone for 5 minutes, strop lightly for final burr removal and they're sharp a.f. Sandpaper is way too slow for me. $30 for a new Norton 8×2 s.c.

    Perfect timing!
    I ordered two Bacho Morakniv clippers at the end of 2020 and were supposed to originally be in the mail the same week but factory felt after factory delay, today I got a mail that they're on their way :)
    They're basically the old Mora clipper with the more pointy sheath and the checkered handle.
    Only other difference is the stamp, it now has a fishy on it hehe.

    • @RobEvansWoodsman
      @RobEvansWoodsman  3 года назад +1

      The old handles are better, like everything in life they don't necessarily improve things.

    • @Stormcloakvictory
      @Stormcloakvictory 3 года назад +2

      @@RobEvansWoodsman they arrived in the mail today.
      Yeap, just a nice green Mora clipper but different logo.
      I forgot the size difference hehe.
      They nearly identical but the companion is nearly a mm thicker (comparing stainless with stainless) in the spine it seems but I don't mind, and slightly smaller in overal size.
      I do prefer the checkered grips tho, already feels much better.
      Anyway these are brand-new so the clipper lives on to this day, but just a different brand stamp.
      (And only in stainless)
      Edit: and notably, they came with true full scandi's unlike I'm used to with almost all the other Mora's I gotten.
