Nothing wrong with Chinese knives. They are highly automated too. Perhaps their heat treatment are not up to mark but their finish is equally impressive.
@@freenational Swedes also make the best steel on Earth. Both on bucdget steels ( Sandvik family) and on High End steels (M390, Elmax etc) It's not only the heat treatment, the Chinese worker, is payed 1 dollar, to work all day. Chinese also are aiming more to quantiy instead of quality. Not to mention, tht their master diceivers! I mean, they can make something look like it's high quality, but in reallity, it's a piece of junk.So...No compariosn. @@freenational Actually a lot of things are wrong with most of chinese production knives. Starting from cheap and low quality steel to lousy heat treatment and poor finish. This is incredible. I am a fan of Morakniv. Your products scream Quality and excellent manufacturing processes. I hope I get the chance to visit this factory at some point in my life.
For me, there is no product that better defines value than a Mora. Exceptionally high quality at an exceptionally affordable price. I’m a loyal customer for life, and I recommend them to anyone and everyone!
Mr. Thomas Eriksson is quite a man of character. He speaks of how the robots grind the blades but never come with suggestions to improve the knifemaking process. Apparent in the statement is his strong value for the people who work at Morakniv. It is a testament to the quality of the company and its products.
Impressive. The recognition of lost skills and innovation by utilizing robots. An old company embracing new tech (investing money), maintaing quality, and not gouging customers. But using efficiency, to keep prices down. A fan of their knives. Now a fan of the companies management.!
Husker Du from the Texas Hill Country!. I was given my first Mora knife when I was 8. My Mormor and Morfar had gone back to Sweden in 1968. My Morfar was from Garsas. Just bought a knife and a hatchet. Love my heritage!
great to see how one of my favorite knives was made.. my favorite part of the tour was the lady at the end working in the shipping dept with the Mora Companion knife strapped to her thigh....
Big fan of your knives. I have a robust carbon and a companion hd stainsless and these are my best knives and not only for the price but for overall quality. the factory is ultra-modern and aims to recycle and reuse materials as much as possible while polluting as little as possible. Congratulations for all this good work
I'll never forget how I batoned my first carbon steel Mora through a thick piece of red oak. As the wood fibers twisted, the knife got bent so badly, I was sure it would be ruined. But when the oak finally split, the knife sprang back to being straight. Amazing quality.
Thank you for sharing so much information regarding what is arguably the most popular & competitively priced knife brand in the World, in my opinion. At 72, I've spent 54 years in mechanical manufacturing & design & can appreciate the speed, efficiency & accuracy of your operation. The people that belong to your company can hold their heads high & know that they are all well respected by the knife buying community.
Really enjoyed this tour. It's the reason why I own so many Morakniv. I have several moras 25+ years old and theyvare still going strong. I could not ask for a better product and many thanks to Morakniv.
Nadie da tanto por tan poco, adoro estos cuchillos. Sabes que estan fabricados para ser utilizados no como el 80% de la cuchillería que es de exposición
Thanks for the video Thomas. Wonderful of you to walk us thru the inner sanctum of Morakniv. Please express our joy & appreciation to the Mora family, have a happy holiday and we look forward to what 2022 will bring.
For the money, Mora owns the market in affordable knives made with quality and good materials. I own the Mora Bushcraft Black, and the Mora Garberg and I love them both! I bought my son a Mora Companion for his first knife and years later he still has it, and it's GTG!
It is very good to know that the product we purchase is made with primacy and attention to quality. Morakniv is to knives, what Victorinox is to pocket knives! Two companies synonymous with quality and excellent customer service!
I can’t even guess at the economics of it, but it would be wonderful if you had a separate shop that still used only the old techniques. All of the wood handled classics, made by craftsmen, with a forge and anvil, hand grinding wheels, hand shaped handles, hand made leather sheaths, etc. I would be willing to pay a hefty premium for a true classic. Plus, such a shop, designed for public tours, would help further preserve Mora’s legend. Excellent video tour.
I have many Mora knives. I also have very expensive handmade bushcraft knives. If I have a gnarly looking bit of wood I need to split by batoning it's the Mora Robust I'll go to every time. It's a beast of a tool!
I have used knifes for different tasks, almost everyday since i started to work after finishing school, about 20 years ago. A Mora knife have never ever made me disappointed. My favorite is the Mora 2000, thats a lot of knife for a good price. Keep up the good work. 👍
❤ Morakniv have several..Good video of the making of one ..Or should I say Thousands.. I did walk away with the visions of Wolverene from X -men though 👍😅
For being sincere,I wasn't great fan of yours, but after knowing about the history fully of tradition and efficiency and buy some models and use them, became an enthusiastic man of the trademark.🇸🇪🇧🇷🇸🇪🇧🇷🇸🇪🇧🇷👍❕️
Fascinating - thanks for sharing. It is really comforting that Thomas stresses the fact that robots are used to do the hard-work jobs, but cannot help in innovation, where they rely on their human experts.
I always tell my friends one Opinel and one Mora is all you need. It's so affordable that I don't worry about breaking a Mora, that is of course if you can even break one... Mora is a working hand's best friend. And thank you Morakniv for being AWESOME. See you at 260 year anniversary.
Amazing, now i understand why they are so cheap, but Amazing built, ive been using these for the last 7 years and i love them, i have multiple models of each, to use, to collect, some for food, others for fishing, i love them all, Amazing how many they are able to produce in a day
Thanks for the tour! This was amazing. I've been using Moraknivs for about 18 years now. I love these knives so much that I'm not even going to hesitate on replacing my carbon Garberg that I recently lost.
Get a Bushcraft Black, it's a better knife than any Garberg. (better handle, better blade design and edge geometry, cost's half the price if not less than that) At that price, you can get a Bushcraft Black and a Kansbol and still have money left. By the way, even Kansbol or Mora 2000, are better than the Garberg.
I'm from Brazil and I'm waiting the Amazon diliver my first Morakniv knif. I was waiting by a good oportunity to buy one of this knives and now it's time! It's an amazing experience to see where and how diz product is made.
It was AMAZING to see how clean the whole plant was . Thanks so much for the great tour 👍. I own several Mora's & there great knives . All the best to the employees at the Mora factory !! 👍
Thank you Thomas for the interesting tour of your great factory. I own some moras, some even twice. I love the classic line and have some special models. When things get tough, I use the robust. I work with wood with the Classic, 511 and the carving knives. The Compagnion MG HD has proven itself very well for bushcrafting. I only use carbon knives. Excellent video. Impressive and inspiring, as well. My wife and I own about a dozen Mora knives. I use them for wood carving in my shop and for bush crafting. We both use our Mora knives for general camping and hiking tasks. They are a delight to own and use. (The Craftline Carpentry Chisel and the carbon steel Garberg are on my wish list.) Thank you for making such a fine product!
Great factory tour. We are very satisfied with your knives, proud owner of classic No. 3 and complete kitchen selection. Best knives we ever had. Keep up the great work :).
Excellent. I really enjoyed your remarks on how the machines work tirelessly in hard conditions, but will never have a suggestion or idea for improvement.
I have carried a companion for over ten years, it has been on so many adventures and never asks me for anything in return. I hope one day to try one of your traditional wood handled knives, thank you all for giving me the tools I trust.
