Thank you for this. I originally watched your vewlix setup video and used some of the info to help me out with mine. I also have an Astro city that using a ras pi atm. I think I'll give batocera a go though as it looks fairly easy. Thank s for the videos.
That’s awesome!!! I just recently updated my Vewlix with a new beefed up PC and running Batoparrot. Good luck with your Astro City build and feel free to reach out if you have questions. I’ll try my best to have an answer.
Hey, thanks so much for this, great instructional video. Downloaded Myzar Batocera from link you posted and I get to 21:59 and try to get into the Myzar server via Ports->Download, however, my monitor just goes out of sync and doesn't return unless I reboot the computer, which isn't good. I'm running a WG D9200 with VGA (out of the 9200) to DVI converter to Nvidia HD7450. Batocera fires up fine into the main menu and looks great, however, I'm trying to get to the Myzar server scripts in order to set monitor, download bios, etc and the screen is just goes blank after going into the Download section. I'm wondering what my next steps should be. Looking for discord/telegram support perhaps and thinking of SSH'ing into Batocera to pull some logs and see what's going on. Any thoughts would be awesome. Super sweet gaming cave man, hard work paid off. Can't wait to get mine up and running again.
Hi @shoreRider2. I'm sorry to give this news but unfortunately, the auto-download feature was completely shutoff due to this creep www.youtube.com/@AmitenTV abusing the hard work done by the Myzar team by stealing/making profit from a 1TB hard drive he's selling of the image fully loaded. The Telegram sharable link to join the channel has been disabled as well. I do not own Myzar nor the Telegram channel. I will need to sadly update this video description and voice this is no longer available until further notice. Very sorry about the work you already put into this.
@@MikeyNightchilde Thanks for getting back to me. That's terrible how some people ruin it for everyone else. Unfortunate that we have to manually do this now, however, retro emulation is a tinkering hobby and we'll just have to go back to the good ol days of modifying cfg's and ssh'ing into the machine. Thanks again for your channel, you're a great teacher, keep the content going! Maybe an update on how to do this manually? subscribed!
That could be something if I ever get my hands on the Recallbox RGB Jamma pcb. I have a both MiSTercade Jamma and MiSTer JAMMIX I've been thinking about making videos on as well.
I hope you do more videos on Batocera Linux if you have time. I run it myself. Put my optiplex 3020 into an ASUS AP201 case and one of the last EVGA NVIDIA cards that supports DVI-I. I don’t have a cabinet but I have my lovely CRTs.

@@MikeyNightchilde that is awesome! Thank you for sharing this. I would have not expected this. Does this pc pretty much allow you emulate everything in the 4:3 era? Naomi, PS2, Taito Type X?
@@JohnDoe-te3uk Totally!!! Those you listed, no problem. I've gotten even higher if you max out the RAM and GPU. I have PS3 and modern titles like Granblue Fantasy Raising Versus currently running. @@andrescalapt_ There are a couple great FB groups that are Candy Cabinet, Vewlix or Sega related. I’ve seen these go on sale there a ton lately. Vewlix/Chewlix fans & Sega Naomi Candy Cabs are great starts. Also, arcade-projects.com is a great forum with a Marketplace section. Hope this helps.
That all depends. If your monitor can accept 15khz, then the image will show. Setting up your PC BIOS does not require 15khz. However, the signal will be lost the moment Batocera finally loads in 15hkz.
@@arcadiapark1992 That's awesome!!! Glad to hear you got it working. As far as your question, PCIe NVMe drives offer superior performance over USB. PCIe 4 can give 7,000 MB/s or more as opposed to the highest USB4 can only max at 2,500 MB/s. Hope this helps.
The 15khz and the CRT exploding, is that only related to when you use your screen capture hardware, or is that applicable if I am going to run a pc straight to the jamma harness?
Definitely PC straight to JAMMA harness will damage. In this video I am running a Y splitter from the DVI-I/VGA out of the PC. One is going directly to my CRT and the other to my upscaler which shows the current khz. I did this to not only be able to capture the PC video but to also demonstrate the actual frequency sent to your chassis & CRT. Keep in mind you do not have to worry about these issues if the VGA to JAMMA converter you own has Protection Mode like the jammaASD or JPAC. Those will gate all signals higher than 15khz to be sent into your chassis. Hope this helps.
This video is golden.

Petition for a video like this but with Recalbox instead or other software, is very hard to find this types of guides for other OS options

If not using upscaler to capture card and just using monitor, will image be lost once it goes into 15hz
