This Simple Change To Shoot A Handgun MUCH Better. Years Of Frustration Fixed!

- Here I discuss how conventional 3 dot sights on handguns are a detriment to shooting a handgun well, especially under stress or during defensive engagements. A lot of problems and frustration people experience shooting handguns comes from these sights and they just don't realize it.
People spend years trying to fix their grip, trigger squeeze and so much more when this was the issue all along.
I illustrate the problems and the 'why', and provide you a solution.

Survival IS Paramount
The first change before a trigger or other "upgrades" to my 10mm M&P was the XS big dot sights and a blacked out rear on my Performance Center 9mm. Under self induced pressure I have noticed an improvement with both.
Dawson makes great sights! Great video!!!
Great idea......very effective
Damn good information.
Thanks buddy!
Changing to this configuration definitely decreased the time it took for me to acquire a sight picture with my shooting. I don't know why it took me so long to change, but I'm glad I did.
Great info! Thanks!
Excellent information. Really enjoyed this one, Gary. Thank you.
Thanks for directing me to the Dawson precision sights, what a world of difference
Excellent info as always. I have been trying to tell people to go with the a fiber front and black rear when asked about sight recommendations....everyone always thinks they need 3 dot night sights and think I’m nuts when I tell them I hate them and don’t own a gun with them.....well except my duty weapon but thats a whole other issue lol.
Very interesting video - makes sense. I've always had some innate dislike to my pistols with 3 dot night sight configurations, and this explanation definitely provides some clarity as to why!
I’m glad it helped. Thanks for watching! -Gary
I'm learning so much from your videos, I feel bad that I haven't come to one of your courses yet.
That intro 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks man!
I have definitely seen and felt an increase in my performance at competitions since going red-fiber-front and blacked-out-rear. Only downside, only one time, in direct sunlight, fiber got so bright that I thought I was shooting a red-dot. Forgot to check if it was lined up against my rear sights. So after clearing 11 plates quickly I ended up sending 7 shots low of the last plate and being totally confused as to what happened. The rest of my squad thought it was hilarious.
Xs big dot sights love them
Tell that to Hickok45.
Your explanation is clear. And thought-provoking! Should I black out that rear u-site on my Hellcat? I might try that as an experiment. I could black it out temporarily using some sort of tape.
Yes. You can start off using a sharpie or a paint pen...
In the short term for testing I suppose a sharpie would be useful to black the rear sight out.
Yes. I do it all the time on the range for students and that alone makes a big improvement. -Gary
