Seeing Ocon smile when talking about Cars makes me so happy. Big fan of these kinds of videos where drivers go more in depth about things that happen in the car, etc.
Ocon is such a two faced guy. After almost sending Alonso to the wall at high speed twice because he couldn't legitimately beat his teammate. One of the dirtiest esp in wheel-to-wheel

The taxi movies are amazing, and surprisingly, the cars are actually real. Not props or anything. They did some ridiculous engine swap in em.

It has nothing to do with beeing smart, it's even sad people think that way.
I love how he went into detail and was very matter the fact with analyzing how realistic or not these scenes are. But understand it's about the spectacle and isn't condescending.
It feels natural seeing Esteban speaking French over English. I wish he did more of his interviews en français.

Love how eloquent yet expressive he is when speaking French. Loved his confidence too, the smile he had while talking about Cars or his emotions when he talked about Niki Lauda.
You can really tell that Esteban is so much more comfortable in French than in English. For some drivers it's not as clear but he's so much more eloquent in his own language

No matter what you think about Ocon, there are some things you have to concede: he has passion for the sport, he has brains and he has a really pleasant speaking voice in French.

@@ezrachristian718the issue was he only raced that way alongside Alonso, anyone else was like the gates were opened. 0 defense. But if Alonso was next to him he went for attack. Still a good driver but needs to clean it up.

There's a mistake in the subtitles at 06:39. When Esteban says "sauf si une voiture est bridée", "bridée" doesn't mean the car is hybrid. It means the engine is powered down / limited

I really hope Alpine can improve greatly and catch up to Aston Martin. And that Ocon will defeat Gasly. I believe he can easily. I've been impressed by Ocon since he entered F1. His Brazil race in 2016 was a highlight.

After all these years, we finally got the Cars reaction, and it's adorable watching Ocon smile throughout the segment.
Ocon was great in this. I might even say his explanations were more informative than Danny Ric's
It was said by a few engineers in f1 teams that Danny Ric's knowledge about mechanical aspect of cars was very lackluster

Little mistake in the traduction at 6:42. Ocon wants to say 'unless one of the cars is restrained" and not "hybrid". In French it gives " sauf si une des deux voitures est bridée", it sounds the same but it's not the same

We love Estie, love this kind of videos where you can see the passion they have for the sport in a different way, and how fun is that the cars the animated movie is more accurate than the ones with "real" cars

He didn’t really take into account the fact those muscle cars were most definitely modified at least to some degree, obviously it’s not ever talked about in the need for speed movie but it’s pretty easily inferred they’re not stock. With that it’s most definitely possible those cars could have aftermarket transmissions installed which could be a 4speed automatic overdrive a 5 speed or 6 speed manual, and technically with enough time and money you can swap a 8 speed or 10 speed DCT although that’s a very rare swap for a classic muscle car. Also you can most definitely lock the rear wheels and drift using a cable operated emergency brake although it’s not gonna be easy.
@@jacob-bell It's really not worth all of that when it comes to a classic muscle car. You really shouldn't go past a 6-speed manual because those blocks back in the day couldn't extract the most out of their power.

Esteban is easily one of the most likeable drivers on the grid and is way more talented than people give him credit for.
What? I literally can’t stand him. I’m sure he’s a fun guy but as far as a tv presence it’s a no for me ( Maybe I’m biased because I’m French Canadian, but he sounds so smug to me, on the other hand I really like gasly )
This was really amazing. He seems to know a lot about different types of racing cars. It was interesting to listen to. And I love that he mentioned Lewis. because of course he did. And the last part was sweet as well.
His dad is a mechanic:) I suspect the emotional and educational investment carried a lot of weight alongside any financial support his parents' put into his racing growing up 🙏
If you've ever ridden in a fast boat for more than 2 mins without sunglasses you'd know that it would be impossible for Sly Stallone to keep his eyes open like that driving around like that.

Hearing Esteban not speak english is the most odd thing in this video.
He is much more articulate speaking french so I glad they went that way. I always assumed he was a bit slow or something but I guess hes just not the best english speaker lol. This was a great video though to see him like this.
@@SuperBKDK Exactly! Like by no means do I think he's dumb or not well spoken I just typically only hear him speaking in english in short sentences because it's on track radio or post race/session interviews.

Wow is French such a beautiful language, I get why French speakers speak English if they're famous and all, but it is very nice to hear such a nice flowing language like French sometimes.
In the Ford v Ferrari segment at 6:42 he does not say "Unless one of the cars is a hybrid", he says "Unless one of the cars has a speed limiter".

In touge conditions and in every race in tokyo drift drift helps to go fast. Even rally cars drift to take low speed turns.
@@ajaychaitanyareddy Rally is a different thing.... That's on the kind of surfice that it's inevitable to do. Other than that, drifting is never aiding you to go fast. You lose constant speed, it's important to have a good exit and take all that speed onto the next straight, with drifitng the car stays unnessecarily long into a bend and makes a sluggish exit

You're right that breaking traction can be the fastest way around a corner on gravel, but only to the extent that the minimum steering input and maximum corner speed demand it. Nobody is "drifting" in the spectacle sense in stage rally.
