    Love your childish enthusiasm 🙂. I am also very vocal on the trails. I did the WAL last year. I may try this one next. Thank you for the video.

      Childish enthusiasm - that’s a great way of describing me 🤣👌 I defo recommend you try this trail! I’d say it’s just as good, I’d not better, than Y Wal!

      Lolz, Whites Level is the only one at Afan I've not done, heading there Sunday so doing a bit of you tube recon! Don't like the climb though! There is a shortcutish if you head into the village and then up!

      @@jjmtb1762 oh really?? I’ve only done this one and Y Wal, loved both but preferred this one. Yeah the climb is pretty savage 😂 I would like to head back at some point and give another one a go … if there was 1 you would recommend which would it be? My riding has improved drastically since so I’m up for a challenge haha 🤘

      @@JamesLonngren blade is worth a crack mate, lots climbs but up top by those massive windmills is nuts, sweet little trail that takes right near them, and loads of long single track decents 23k in length. skyline has recently reopened if you fancy a challenge 45km!! Bit closer to England is Cwmcarn, bout 20 mins from the Severn Bridge. Again two singletrack loops cafall on the one side and twrch on the other, also two banging black graded downhill trails y mynydd and peddlehounds, couple of vids of these on my channel. Also worth a look castell coch/Fforest fawr and mountain view bike park just off the A470 near the m4 on the way to bike park Wales.

    That trail looks so good, i'm putting that straight on my list. What are them Vitus bikes like?

      Afan is a must visit in my opinion!
      I can’t speak for the other models but I believe they’re all pretty awesome. In terms of value for money - up there with the best! The components they chucked on my bike for the price I got it is pretty crazy. I’ve had it for a year now, it’s served me extremely well!

    Would you recommended 29xc or or 27.5 trail/enduro?

    • @JamesLonngren
      @JamesLonngren  2 года назад

      That’s a good question tbh! I think it depends on what you want to prioritise? The 29xc will feel great on the climbs (which there are a lot of… 😅) but I would IMAGINE on the descents it might feel a bit twitchy? If you go fast that is. The terrain is really rocky and rough and throws you about if you try and go fast. Being the adrenaline junkie that I am I wanna go as fast as possible downhill 😂 so for me PERSONALLY I’d want to ride the bike with longer travel 🙂

      I rode afan on my both my 29er alu hardtail (with reba 120mm forks) and 26" steel frame hardcore hardtail (with z150 forks; yes it is a heavy beast)..... The 29er is ightning quick on the climbs, and the sheeptrack was easier as the larger wheels just rolled over the rocks, but it doesn't inspire confidence on the decensts (I feel it just handles too slow).... The 26er is a bit of a nightmare on the climbs (just have to take it slow, and pump out a shed load of power to get it up, highest gear is 32T chainring and 36T cog) but..... On the descents it comes alive, fully planted, super fun, feels great in the burms, so its all a matter of preference.... If you prefer to charge descents, my opinion is that smaller wheels are better, if you like climbing and taking it easier on descents, larger wheels are better.... I also rode it on a 26" full sus enduro bike (140mm travel front and rear); for me, I get the most fun from my 26" NS Surge hardtail; I love that bike!
