- Afan Forest MTB Trails will give you such a buzz you'll go back for more. Very natural trails offering all elements of MTB riding. There's something for everyone here. You can tackle most trails here at you own speed and skill level and end with a huge smile on the face.
I've been here serveral times now, but decided to venture this huge playground on my own. Now familiar with some of the trails I actually had one thing in mind. Beat some times on Strava. I don't compete with others. I compete with myself. If I can get better each time then I'm heading in the right direction in this sport.
For almost Oct Afan Forest was just stunning. Pefect weather and just stunning views to keep you going.
Afan lodge was my start point and having stayed there in the past for a weekend they cater for outdoor enthusiast. A great place to finish also as drinks and food are always needed after the big climbs and longer decents.
Just go out and give it a go. Maps showing the routes are on the internet. The lodge also has some bigger editions that you can look at prior to setting off. They are friendly and will assist you where possible.
Enjoy the edit and see you for the next one.
I did those trails on my carrera Vulcan .. not a comfy ride to say the least 😂.. nice vid mate 😉👍🏻
arrh this brings memories, did afan forest in feb 5 years ago, got dark and still on the trail no lights awesome downhill sections
Finally did The Wall yesterday, the perfect climb, well over 1000ft (1500+ in all), suprisingly painless and zigg zagg with its little fast XC jumps a cross the lines is awsome
Awesome bud. Was going to do it in 2 weeks but lockdown has ruined that idea 😭😭
@@MikesMTBAdventures nightmare isn't it? I decided not to check the map so I'm 100% certain Afans in Rhondda Cynon Taff (as is Cwmcarn forest luckily) so I couldn't have crossed any burough limits😉. Great vid BTW, clicking subscribe 👍
World class stuff. Cheers
Serious video mate. Heading there on Sunday. Looks real fun
Only been there once but absolutely loved it - did 50 miles first day and another 25 the next :D
Flying there mate
Thanks buddy
Great video Mike love the Afan Forest. only 30 mins from me :)
Going to Afan this week for the first time so thanks for the great edit, i know a bit about what to expect now. Cant wait!
No problem bud. Enjoy
Love Afan! Great vid Mate. Was there on Sunday doing Blade. My fitness is not great at the moment due to a couple of months ill with a chest infection so as you'll know it was hard work!
Truly awesome video Mike. The Wall is one of my favorites at Afan forest. Starting at Rhyslyn FREE parking, 5 mins off the M4, the 1 1/2hr loop can certainly throw some punches. As you've shown, the veiws tempt you take stock of both heart rate and adrenalin levels. The Wall takes no prisoners. Keep up the great work :-))
Thanks so much for the nice comment. Been here several times now and it never gets old. Stunning views, fantastic ride and good food at the end. Lol.
Do you know where tge start of the wall is
@@rhysedwards6719 not totally sure. But its a long loop so there may be more.
That was a brilliant video, it’s a fantastic part of the world. The trails are superb.
My local butty, live about 2 miles away, love the zigzag's trial and the Stage 4 black section next to zigzag's awesome trails. loving the content to mate keep it up.
Perhaps you can show me other stuff at some point?
Yes defiantly Mike, You have Whites level and the blade trail in Glyncorrwg plus the local area is littered with awesome rides right off piste lol.
Good video, Mike. Graveyard and Zig Zags never disappoint!
Thanks pal, I certainly enjoyed it. You live local then
Local enough - Ammanford :-) You need to look at Brechfa and Cwm Rhaeder as well
@@The_G I'd really appreciate the guide if you can?
Please do more i only live down the road so i cant wait to get back on the trails again
We can hook up if you like.
@@MikesMTBAdventures ye maybe one day
With every video you ask yourself shall I or not watch this? Then you find yourself pleasantly surprised! Good footage despite not having a gimbal??
No gimble but came out well. Thanks.
Great video mate. Enjoyed the commentary.
Which trail was this? I have yet to ride these Afan loops on my hardtail
It's called W2. Thanks pal
What camera set up are you using? You've got great footage even in the fading light. Afan is awesome, there's so much on offer! There's just as much hidden away off piste stuff as there is official trails!
I'll do a video on it soon. Still working out the gopro 7 settings with hypersmooth. I'd love to do the off piste stuff. Wink wink
@@MikesMTBAdventures come along for a ride and I'll show you some of the trails!
