Great video. Did you with Bosch brand for a particular reason? So many posts on brand preferences. Now that they have been installed for some time , what is your review of them? I know front and rear pads are different. Do you have part number to both front and rear pads or even amazon link? > I would like to compensate you for your efforts through Amazon link.
Awesome vid , for the parts (in the description) it tells me the pads are only for the rear on my Nissan Altima 2013 . Can I buy them for the front brakes also or are they different
Thanks! Yes the front brake pads are different from the rear. Here is my video for doing the front brakes: ruclips.net/video/A2TPtqrXxps/видео.html The link for the front brake pads I used in the video is here: www.amazon.com/dp/B015FXG81Q/ Thanks for watching! Luke
Curious, why did you use the silicone lube paste with the rear bolts and pads, but in the front break video, you just lubed the ends of the brake pads? You also cleaned the piston and the boot on the rear, don't do that on the front?
Wrench, 14 mm socket for brake caliper, socket for wheel lug nuts, something to push the brake caliper piston in (c-clamp, or the tool used in video), and optionally (but highly suggested) brake cleaner spray, paper towels, silicone lube.
Question. It looks like this bosh break pads are different for inside and outside of the rotor. My kit only had one pad with wear indicator. What break pad should go inside CS. outside.
It's great you remembered to lube the guides and pads, but you didn't turn the rotors. That's literally half the job! The rotors warp as they get hot, and material is removed from them during braking, leaving small grooves in the rotors. You can feel these when you have the wheel removed. When you put perfectly flat new brake pads against a warped rotor, you will get pedal pulse (brake pedal bouncing) and the new pads will not work as well because the rotor will only contact the pads at the peaks of the grooves. For anyone watching this video, remove the rotor and take it to a machine shop and have it turned!!!
I bought the wagner brand from O'Reilly's for mine but the hardware didnt fit so i had to use the old ones why didnt they fit they are wider than the used ones
Shot in the dark here but I can’t get the glide bolt off. It’s stuck pretty good. Any tips on how to get them off? I’ve tried WD40 and muscle with the 14mm and a vice but no luck
The guide pins can be tough to get off! The first thing I would do is make sure you are turning them the correct way, I know this sounds silly but I myself have gotten turned around when removing them and even sheared one right off because I was turning it counter clockwise from my point of view instead of from the bolt's point of view (which is always the correct pov). If that's definitely not the problem then I suggest penetrating fluid like PB Blaster. Spray some carefully around the head of the bolt and let it do it's thing for 10 mins or so. Remember to clean up any overspray with Brake Cleaner. Also a breaker bar or metal pipe on the end of your ratchet might give you the extra leverage it takes to get it loose. Thanks for asking and watching, please let me know how it goes! (Pep boys and autozone usually have replacements in stock for less than $10 in the event you need them ;) luke
The factory service manual for a 2015 Altima mentions that the caliper guide bolts need to be torqued to 32 ft-lbs. Why do you recommend 20 ft-lbs (at 3:18 in your video)?
Hey, it’s a piston compressor also called a speader. They are very cheap at harbor freight tools, Walmart, or Amazon for about $5-10 bucks. Here is the link from the video description to a good one from amazon: amzn.to/2N8eefm and thanks so much for watching!
Super Sic-o Bleeding is needed only if you open up the hydraulics, like replacing a caliper or a brake line... AND if you have a soft spongy pedal (meaning there is air in the line).
Straight to the point, no annoying and distracting background music. Nice and clear video!.👍🏻
Thank you! You saved me $300.
The best video I have seen. No audio; awesome. I could follow the instructions. Thank you so much.
Cool vid. I love it when i can watch a diy video with the sound off and still have total understanding of what is going on
Thank you very much!
SAME
This format is one of the best DIY I have seen. And I've watched boatloads.
Wow thank you so much! Means a lot to me ✨💛
Well thank you very much for using silicone paste on the guides and I'm amazed how many people do not
The video just short, clear and sweet. Good job, thank you!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks so much
Thank you for posting this. I'm about to change my pads and I wasn't sure if the caliper was twist in or compress
thank you for this, short and sweet right to the point.
I love how pretty much everything is simple.
I like the detail. What about opening the break reservoir to prevent back pressure when pushing the calipers piston in?
Didn't know about this silicone paste. (Or torque spec ) On my way to the parts store first thing in the morning. Thanks for the video!
You saved me $300 on the front axel alone! My thanks to you.

Top notch presentation

Thank you for this video. Will be doing this next weekend.

Does this work for a 2017 I know your title says it does
is that pad the nissan oem parts?
Much appreciated! New pads are installed. 🍻
I have a 2017, what are all the tools I’d require?
Wrench, 14 mm socket for brake caliper, socket for wheel lug nuts, something to push the brake caliper piston in (c-clamp, or the tool used in video), and optionally (but highly suggested) brake cleaner spray, paper towels, silicone lube.
Gracias amigo,, Mucha cerveza para ti .

do you know how tight the bolts for caliper bracket are supposed to be?

Is that aluminum anti-seize That you're a putting on everything

Do I need to take the cap off the master cylinder before I compress the piston?
That’s what I would like to know??
Yes.

Did you ever figure it out..try hitting it with a torche to heat up
this is awesome!!! thanks

Remove cap from brake reservoir
ya you definitely want to put on your emergency brake, car WILL move!
after do u still have to bleed the breaks
no that's only when you change the caliper
@@victormedina4378 thank you..i thought after compressing the caliper in to change pads you have to bleed the system
