I love the generous fabric in fqs kits. I always try to be conservative cutting but stuff happens....😊
One square at a time, is all it takes!
Triangle on a Roll are so worth the money! On projects like this!
I have always loved the tree of life block, no matter the color.
Thank you Kimberly for the detailed instructions. Hope you are having a fun vacation.
I got this but haven't started it yet. I'm a beginner so its sitting on my shelf in its pretty box intimidating me.
Well get out your 1/2 square paper and material and get started! The only way to learn is by repetition! You’re going to do better than you think!!!
Good Morning Everyone
Get it starched & ironed. Then cut the first block. Do it a day at a time.
When I first started quilting I wanted to make this block but it was way over my head. After 30 years I finally tried it. I love this block. Triangles on a roll will make it foolproof! I really like how Kimberly made the truck portion; I had used a template. Give it a try, I bet you will do a beautiful job❤
The key to success when you’re a beginner is to really take your time and don’t rush. Double check that you have an accurate quarter inch seam allowance. You can do it!
Cannot wait for next week what fun. Have a great vacation
I just love this block!
I did my both blocks together. I’m done!! Next week I’ll start sewing the rows and backing:)
Beatiful!
Good Morning from Southwest Kansas 🐝🌻🐝🌻
Love the dark and light blocks. Kimberly, I love cutting the outer blocks bigger to cut down. Too bad I didn't learn that decades ago. I always used coping to get my blocks exact.
I am really enjoying these step by step tutorials!!🎉
I used to not pin much at all when I piece my quilts, but I have discovered that it really does make a difference. I think the movement of the fabric over the feed dogs and the pressure of the presser foot can cause the fabric to shift a bit while you’re sewing. So it really does help with accuracy. I also tend to stitch with the seam side up when I’m sewing on a border bc it helps me to keep my seam allowances laying the right way.
I'll definitely bid on the auction quilts
Your blocks look amazing! I must admit that I haven’t started mine yet but will soon since our garden is about done. I love how this is turning out.
Thanks for this tutorial. You took the intimidation factor out of this block for me.
Have a great vacation!
Don't worry Kimberly, our sons are 36 and 34 years old, and married, and we still take a family vacation every year! It doesn't have to end!
I like cutting a none pieced long strip too long too. Less stress cause the seam bumps do change things.
Adorei esse bloco
Well mine is going to look a little different... i used 2 inch paper left over from a different company. I guess i needed 2.5 paper
Can you discuss which manufacturers are digitally printed and which are not????????? I don't want to buy them without knowing and mix with my other fabrics. Thanks
Hello Deborah! Here is a link to the digitally printed fabrics here www.fatquartershop.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?product_type_custom=8&q=digitally+printed+fabric
I have a question and feel embarrassed to ask. When you purchase the kit, does that help with donations?
Hello Krishna! It's okay don't be embarrassed. When you purchase the kit it does not go towards donations. The donations are only available through Make-A-Wish.
@@FatQuarterShopTX - thank you so much. Sorry I misunderstood this and will be making donation.
Is there enough fabric to size up and trim on half square triangles?
Hello Rita! Yes, there is enough fabric to size up.
What do you do with your empty quilt kit boxes?
Hello Jeanette! Kimberly uses them for storage.
👍❤️🙂
Thanks so much Kimberly and FQS❤
I am a brand new quilter, and I notice you press your seams open. All the other videos I have watched press to one side. Is this just your personal preference?
Hello Janina! Kimberly presses depending on how she feels but most of the time she presses open.
To get 44 HST’s wouldn’t you need just 11 of those paper rectangles? Doesn’t each rectangle make 4 HST’s? This is so confusing!
Hello Sharon! Kimberly cut a total of 11 rectangles to break them up.
