    Welcome to Aunt Debbie's Boutique
    Each video with highlight a simple project, with me showing you step by step how to cut it out and construct it. Simple techniques that don't cause frustration.
    All you need is a sewing machine you can operate, a pair of fabric scissors, sewing pins, a seam ripper, and an iron. A cutting mat, rulers and rotary cutters are an added bonus. We will address fabric, thread and needles in each video.
    Patterns are child friendly but children always should be supervised when sewing.
    I am a single mom in W. Texas with a 30 yr old daughter who has had a passion for sewing since I was 10 years old. I also have numerous nieces and nephews and have sewn for them since they were born and that is where my brand of Aunt Debbie's Boutique comes from. I have spent most of my adult life teaching sewing classes to kids and adults. This channel is dedicated to passing these patterns and skills to a larger audience in a much more user friendly format. You can watch these videos at your convience rather than have to choose between going to your sewing class or your kids soccer game.
    Let's get to sewing!

      @auntdebbiesboutique1223  15 дней назад +2

      Yes, it takes 7 fat quarters and you only use about 2/3 of each. (But each fat quarter makes 6 blocks so you could use more if you had that many. )I’m wondering if I can use the leftovers for a border and will graph it out to see. It also takes 3 yds of background fabric. I will post all the details when I post the video.

    Bloc loc rulers are very expensive. Just a hint if it’s not in your budget these days. Take 3-4 layers of painters tape, precisely lay it right next to the 45 degree line on your 6” square ruler….WALA you have a bloc loc ruler. I use this all of the time when squaring my HST’S. I this hope this hack helps someone. Happy quilting everyone❣️. Thanks for the Video!

      @@auntdebbiesboutique1223 I just looked at it again! It's 7×7.5 blocks . It's alternating diagonal blocks of light and dark. The center block is a black with a very thin contrast. I'm goto have to replace it with same era fabric. I know the iron mordant will destroy the black fabric and the light one will probably tear ! Good thing I collected salvage tops for repairs! Other than that it's OK! I'd rather deal with it now than after quilting! Gauzy or rotten fabric is the #1 problem with these darlings ! #2 is no contrast ! I think that was my second favorite. Thank you for commenting that. I might do another one someday and try it.

    It’s me again😁😁. I,love listening to the sounds of different sewing machines (I know this is kind of weird!) and am curious about the machine you are using. Would you mind if you share the machine you sew on??😮😮😮

      This one is a Juki T98E, I believe. I have many machines, but this is my favorite for quilting. When it was in the shop, I used my grandmother’s Pfaff. I can’t remember the model number but she got it in 1954. It also is good for quilting but the thread seems to break easily on it. One of these days I’m going to do an ASMR video of just machine sewing as you aren’t the only one who thinks listening to sewing machines is relaxing. I do too!

    There is a four patch that is not right. 38:51 time middle of screen on the bottom medium fabric. Sorry Loving the blues thanks for sharing. Have a much needed wonderful summer.

      I caught it and fixed it. There was also a second one at the bottom you couldn’t see. When filming, I miss a lot of things. My mind is always on what I’m going to say next. Thanks for catching it!

    Please don’t worry about my Dropbox comment - I did a “fix” - I use an iPad which could have been the situation? Don’t know - but I just took screen shots, used the iPad to resize the important parts of each picture, saved and then printed the pictures out. I also just did the same with your drawing - very easy to get what you were after😁😁😁. And yes, I like to have printouts as a reference🫢🫢😁😁😁

      I’m glad you found a fix but I will still have someone look into it. I wish RUclips would let me post pictures in the comments that you could download and Etsy makes me charge for anything I post there. I will continue to look for other easier options. I need a paper copy too so I totally get it!!

    Some quilters purposely make an error (flipped block/color mismatch) when assembling their quilt tops.
    The reasoning is only God is perfect.As for myself, I'm easily imperfect without making the effort...lol
    Love the blues as well as Jacob's Ladder. 🍄🍄
