Great episode!! I only started my quilting journey at the end of 2019 and watching Sherri, Chelsi, Kimberly , and Lori Holt on RUclips taught me everything!!! I am forever grateful to these wonderful, talented ladies and technology!!! :) Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love of this wonderful craft!!! XO
Fabulous episode, im very new to patchwork quilting and very happy to have stumbled on A Quilting life, Chelsi and Fat quarter shop. You ladies inspire me to give it a go, I look forward to your monthly episodes. Thankyou 😊
Terrific interview with Kimberly Jolly. I've tried the Oliso iron for my pet biz and was going through 2 to 3 irons a year until I got my Rowenta steam iron, so may try the iron Kimberly was talking about. I buy a lot of fabric for my biz, but as a monthly treat to myself subscribe to the fat quarter shop monthly box. The more I see the make a wish quilt, the more I like it. I made last years make a wish quilt and donated it to a hospital charity organization. They loved it.
Loved this! Especially liked the idea of making a block from scraps each time you finish a quilt. Found a criss cross star in Lori Holt's Scrappiness is Happiness book and I'll make them 9 inches. I have a lot of Sherri & Chelsi scraps! Thank you for all you do.
Ladies, you did a fabulous show, looking forward to more. How about a block a month , gifts for holidays. Looking forward to seeing what on your list. ❤your show.😊
Just THE BEST episode!♥️♥️♥️ Love Kimberly! Myself and family have been all IN to true crime more than 50 years! We are a Law Enforcement family that share communities and sponsorship of victims. Can’t wait to participate in the Moonbeams charity quilt! It is absolutely beautiful and such a worthy cause💕🧵🙏🏻 Thank you Sherri, Chelsie and Billy💕
Just watched your first episode with Kimberly Jolly, OMG she is so funny. Is she always that enthusiastic 🤩. I would half of her energy. Great questions and info on this episode, thanks so much. Love watching your video’s too and Kimberly’s too. Thanks for all the fun 🎉
As a former store owner I have a boatload of fabric. Kimberly gets a lot of my money but appreciate you all for offering free patterns. This year I’m joining the Quilting life mystery quilt along with the Homestead Collection. I had a ton of it and this will be perfect. Thank you! I will still buy your books and patterns and fabrics
SO MUCH FUN!!! thank you. I really appreciate all that you share with us. I personally appreciate Fat Quarter Shop for the charity drives, the free patterns, and your weekly videos.. Thank you. Sherri and Chelsea, I love your podcast/ tutorials plus your beautiful patterns. ❤❤❤
I’m a true crime junkie too when I sew. I hear that from so many quilters. Too funny. I just have to add that this was one of my favorite episodes. It was so fun to listen to the 3 of you chatting. It was as if we were all out for lunch or coffee and just enjoying each others company. Thanks so much for bringing us all along.
Great Episode 101 with Kimberly. Sew fun. Great sewing information. Fun insight into the mind of Kimberly. I want to do the escape room with you all. That would be a hoot. I loved this personal time with you three ladies. 🎉
I always enjoy your podcast but today was out of the park. I saw a side of Kimberly Jolly I had never seen before. Thank you for all you tips, tricks, instructions, information and especially your entertainment.
I sew want one of those Laurastar irons. I just ordered a new ironing board, The IronMatik, next on the list is a new iron, one of Laurastar Steam Generators. Great Show always love watching Kimberly.
When you guys started talking about escape rooms with Kimberly Jolly I knew I had to tell you about the Escape room adventure that I nicknamed “Grandmas’s Basement Quilt Mystery” I created for my kids this last Christmas for a family group activity. I made the blocks for Edyta SItar’s Alaska quilt and locked each group of 4 blocks away in different places in my house with either combination locks or keyed locks. I then created fun interactive puzzles they had to solve to find the key or combination for the locks. There were a total of 13 puzzles they had to solve to unlock the blocks. Each of the four block groups were marked and there was a key code that they also had to put together and solve that showed where all the blocks were to be placed on my giant design wall that would reveal the quilt design. The puzzles all involved things that I had around my house from my grown kids childhood. I even made a baby quilt that had the code in fabrics that coordinated with one of the puzzles to one of the locks. It took me over 4 months of planning to put it all together and I had a ball.
I truly enjoyed this video with all three of you. So relaxing. Felt like i was in the room with you. You all are wonderful teachers. Thank you for such a fun video.
Oh I just loved the interview, I have gone to an escape room 1 time. I was afraid to open anything because I was afraid something would jump out and scare me. My daughter had to get us out.
I loved your episode #101. It was a great discussion and so happy to see Kimberly joined you. I’m looking forward to sewing/quilting this year, 2024! Love your channel!❤
So enjoyable. Someone very close to me was teaching a class in Vegas when one of the mob cars exploded in the parking lot below her classroom. It threw her over her desk. 😮 so many colorful and scary stories.
A wonderful chat with Kimberly. She has so much enthusiasm about what she does as do the two of you. Happy New Year. Looking forward to watching you both in 2024. 🥰🥰🥰
First time to watch you ladies! I just started watching Kimberly’s live show and I saw the episode where you two were in TX doing layouts for the new book. I found you today because I was watching the Bloopers that Chelsi mentioned! They were hilarious! I will catch up on this year’s episodes and then continue on through the year! I love the Strawberry Lemonade line! Also, can’t wait until the new book comes out!
Such a great podcast! I love all of you so much. I just started quilting during COVID and have learned so much from Sherri, Chelsi, and Kimberly. You all are so much fun to watch and Billy adds so much to the podcasts. The family dynamic is great. I always look forward to your podcasts and your interview with Kimberly is just icing on the cake.
Wonderful episode! I really enjoyed all Kimberly's sewing tips. You three seem to have such an easy, comfortable relationship; it's pleasant to listen to.
What a great episode! You all made me smile.🌻😁. Thank you for that. I think I need to get more design boards. 😋 I'm looking forward to getting Strawberry Lemonade. Thank you, ladies!
I love FQS because of all the free patterns, which makes me always go to their website to buy fabric when I need it! I so appreciate Kimberly. I’m making the Snapshots quilt now with the Zinnia fabric. I’ve made so many of their patterns.
For the creative grid rulers, I thought of an idea to make a wooden box with a drawer for smaller rulers and on top of the box, raised slot holders (like square trim you would use for shelving to hold dish plates), for the larger rulers to display and for easy access. I just need someone’s carpenter husband to make it. Lol! Great interview - love Kimberly’s interview. She is just so open and funny! Thank you Sherri and Chelsie - will be doing the Moonbeams charity QAL and SAL projects. Such a pretty design! ~ Doreen B 💜🦋
What a wonderful interview! Kimberly is so fun to watch and now I see how she gets so much done. I was also interested to hear about Crime-Con. I thought it was just mystery type convention, not that it is helpful to so many people. Great to know. It was nice to hear about interesting products available at FQS. I do love the free pattern and try to use them a few times a year. Thanks for such an interesting guest!
And Sherri & Chelsi! Just order the Laurastar...it's a game changer. It's expensive and I don't have one YET but sign up for sew days at my quilt shop just to USE it. Saves 1/2 time pressing. Get the board & iron. Business expense!
Great episode. I love Kimberly ‘s creative but analytical mind work. I enjoyed seeing a closer look at Moonbeams, this is a beautiful quilt and I can’t wait to get started.
What a great way to kick off 2024, such a fun podcast! Whaa....a mob museum in LV? That would be so much fun to visit. Sherri you mentioned that you sewing clothing for your children when they were you. I would be the first in line to buy your pattern for quilt jacket. I know you could make one that would be very stylish, comfy and fun to wear......hint hint.
I "clean up" my fabric at the end of a quilt project. I use men's shirts as the backs of pillows. But I don't want to waste the left over fabric from from the shirts so I'll take the leftovers and cot it up into the sizes I use like 5, 4, 2.5, and 1.5. Then I do the same with projects.
I have had my laurastar smart u for a few years and i love it - never had any issues! I agree, i got 2 of the smaller ones since :) perfect for steaming; especially batting and quilt tops at the long arm
XO

I paid my $50 donation and can’t wait for the first block!
So much fun!! Love the true crime part!
I agree. I end up having so much extra after a quilt is finished. I love the idea of making a block to end up in a whole other quilt in time.
Such a fun episode! ❤️
Thanks for a fun podcast! I always watch Kimberly’s video even if I’m not interested in the project because I love her enthusiasm!
Great episode!!! Love the FQS and Kimberly!!!! Thank y’all for interviewing her!!!
Enjoyed receiving my sew sampler box for December ❤ it.

I now use decorative duck tape to make my design boards. Pretty tape looks like fabric.
