I have followed Tula Pink for some years, but didn’t know about her earlier life. She’s truly a unique person! I particularly liked learning about her flexibility, her family support, her upbeat attitude, and her intestinal fortitude. I also really like your style of reporting!
Hi Tamara. Very interesting. I love Tula's designs and colors but I'm not a quilter. I sew garments and am always on the lookout for any of her fabrics that would be suitable. I do have a suggestion for another Sewlebrity. Her name is Debbie Shore and she's British. Her life story is actually really fascinating. She is the creative drive behind the Half Yard Sewing Club which has members from around the globe. She's a fabric designer and she has a popular fabric store. Her You Tube channel and her 2x weekly live shows have a very loyal following. Anyway, she's charming, funny and incredibly creative. Debbie sews, quilts, she's an author of many books and she paints! If you have any questions, please let me know.
So glad this was in my feed! I love Tula Pink fabric, but have yet to access any…I follow her on insta, and although I don’t quilt, I do sew. Thanks for this fantastic overview of her journey!! Well done!
Nicely put together. I have sent this along to an artist that hasn’t found her groove yet.🙏🏼 Many artist “don’t fit”, Tula makes you feel anything is possible.
I want a research of Rita Hutchens an extraordinary quilter who developed the Totally tubular piecing. She had the most amazing RUclips videos, but when Irene Swanson, she became so mad the she deleted her RUclips channel, and said the Irene stole her technique. Because she delete her RUclips channel, you can she her amazing work in her book.
Hi Heidi, I can understand your annoyance. I agree with you that Tula Pink is her professional name. And have deleted that piece from my video. I had found information saying it was her real name, but also found information of her saying she hates being asked if it is her real name. So I was conflicted in that fact and should have listened to my gut by keeping it out. And since you called me out on it I realized I should have listened to my gut originally. It is now out. However the rest of my video is based on hours of podcast interviews, video footage and old blog posts on her own blog via the wayback machine that I hope you can enjoy. And all the links where I got my information are linked in the description of my video if you want to check them out. This took me months to put together and it is all done from a place of respect for her as an artist and business woman. Have a wonderful weekend :) Oh! And another commenter shared her real name is Jennifer McLean. I just keep learning :)
@ absolutely will give it a watch. I an a huge TP fan, possibly more of her business acumen than her fabrics - and those fabrics are taking over my house 🤣
What an interesting story. Love her fabric.
Love Tula 🩷 I had the wonderful opportunity to meet her while taking a class at my local fabric shop. Love her fabrics
I knew nothing of Tula Pink and find her story fascinating. Thanks for gathering all the info and putting it together so well.

That's a great idea Jane. I was amazed at how Tula managed to find her groove in the complicated world of art!

1:07 Tula Pink’s real name is Jennifer McLean.
I have taken that incorrect fact out of the video. Thanks for sharing with me :)
Oooo Tula’s famous! lol
I do like the information but not a fan of stock photos that aren't actually Tula.
Wonder if Moda has regrets.
I wonder as well! Perhaps it was the learning opportunity they needed.
@TamarasJoyDIY there has to be some regret. Her lines sell so well. I'm glad she didn't dilute her style to fit into a design house esthetic.
You lost me at 1 minute in. Tula Pink is her professional name, not her real name

why is your background music so damn loud?
Because I’m new to this kind of video & editing. Thanks for your feedback.
Such an enjoyable video and “dive” about he fabulous Tula. How about a video on Angela Walters?
@@TamarasJoyDIYYou did a wonderful job. Don’t let the negative energy affect you!!
Angela would be a great video! Loved this Tula story.
