    I have a brand new Cobra SZ xtreme driver head that I haven’t hit yet......(winter here). I cut an inch off of my current shaft last season and playing the Cobra F8 (Fujikura Tour Pro 72). Wanting to go back to standard length when I order a new shaft for the SZx........can’t decide between the Tensei orange or the Hzrds Smoke black.........anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

    • @SydneyGolfTech
      @SydneyGolfTech  3 года назад

      Both are good shafts, with the orange being a mid launch while the smoke black is a lower launch option. The Tensei will also swing weight lighter than the smoke. These factors could help with your decision, but ultimately the best one is the one that works for you. 😃

    It is essential to have a counter balanced shaft, maybe around D5 also you need a heavier head regardless of what they say.

    Would the MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL TENSEI AV RAW ORANGE SHAFT work well with a Ping G25 driver head?

    • @SydneyGolfTech
      @SydneyGolfTech  2 года назад

      It really depends on the player, but from a swing weight perspective, it’s a really good option.

    Sir i have ping g425 max , currently using av raw orange 55 , if there a more suitable shaft for it except this raw orange ? And count i pun a shaft that is not counterbalance ? Would it effect the carry distance ?

    • @SydneyGolfTech
      @SydneyGolfTech  2 года назад

      A fitting would determine if a better shaft could be found. The G425 generally had a fairly heavy weight in the back, so “normal” shafts can be used if you change the back weight.

    You mentioned that a counter balanced shaft (I have a Hzrdus smoke yellow) might suit a heavier club head. As I use Taylormade SIM would that in your opinion be a good combo ?
    I used to hit Hzrdus protect X yellow but was given brand new smoke yellow shafts as a gift, I think I can feel a difference but maybe it's mind over matter ?
    Really informative video you definitely know your stuff!! 👍

      The SIM and smoke yellow could pair nicely in theory. I suppose you won’t know until you try it. 😃

    I am looking at getting my son a Ping G425 Max with the Tensei AV Orange 55 in regular flex. He is 12 and plays with a driver shaft at 43" would cutting it down lose the counterbalance of that shaft?

    • @SydneyGolfTech
      @SydneyGolfTech  3 года назад

      Cutting any shaft will effect the balance point, but it will still be higher than most shafts. My concern with the g425 is the head weight. They are about 10g heavier than most heads and this could effect his ability to generate speed.

    Do you flow or spine your graphite shafts

    • @SydneyGolfTech
      @SydneyGolfTech  3 года назад

      I don’t do it any more to my own clubs. Good quality shafts these days have up to 20 layers of carbon, and hence don’t need it done. For those that would like it done, I offer the service. It’s an interesting topic though.

    But why would you have counterbalance iron shafts?

    • @SydneyGolfTech
      @SydneyGolfTech  3 года назад

      Iron shafts were not mentioned in this video, but some players that like to play irons that are over length, can sometimes add weights at the grip end of the shaft to bring the swing weight down. This can also add more club head speed.
