I love how you guys cover different shafts. I've found myself paying more attention to them vs driver heads. With that said, I have a g410 plus and love that head. It's just a matter of matching up that head with the right shaft for me
I've got the Accra TZ6 in my Ping G410...You just can't believe how good it is (dispersion, and ball speed) until you try it! Seriously amazing, and life changing...lol
I just got fitted into a 65R Nemesys in a SIM Max Driver and Ping G410 3W, C9 swing weight is butter. When is Matty putting the Nemesys into the bag!? Love the content guys, I've watched almost every vid! By far the most informative golf channel!

Several years ago, one of the best players to have ever play the game of golf made an observation regarding swing weighting a golf club. He said that you can swing weight a telephone pole to a D-3! Thus, confirming the need to be fitted as there are so many combinations of head and shaft weights...etc. You just confirmed that swing weight is not the "holy grail" of custom club fitting!
CB Shafts feel so light, but my more aggressive tempo makes them very difficult for me personally to control. But these are a neat fitting tool to have.
Agreed. I just lose the path and harder to feel in slot unless static weight is increase to compensate....negating cb effect somewhat. No such thing as a free lunch...
I have the Tensei pro orange 60 TX. Counterbalance seems to work well for me
Received my va composite nemesis shaft to put on my m4 replacing my ust mamiya recoil shaft last week. The recoil is a good shaft and loved how it felt fallow through impact. When i first tried my VA i was drawing a lot then started to really swing through and up on the ball as i was getting dialed it, lets just say goodbye ball.
Just got the TZ6 Counterbalanced shaft, its a dream

I have been playing the Aldila Rogue MS 110 Silver 60 Stiff for about 5 years and I like it.... I tried the Black and thought it launched higher and spun more. My SS is around 100-105 . Are there similar shafts that I should be trying ? Obviously getting on GC Quad, Flightscope and Trackman to validate is king but I want to narrow down options.

For consumers it would be good to compare shafts to the closest matching shaft PING is offering for the G410 (Project X Evenflow Black 75 ?) to see whether the differences justify the extra price tag....

Just a small correction, Spieth used the Black, not the Silver. So this Rogue Black is basically an updated version of what Spieth used (Rogue Black 110 60TX)

Quick question about the Rogue line. I recently tested Mavrik STD 9* and SZ 10.5* with the the Rogue White 130 M.S.I. in both S and X flex. Those were two of the best feeling shafts I’ve ever swung!! Aldila’s website describes this shaft as fitting between the Silver and Black as far as profile and balance. I noticed the flexes of the White were listed as S & X and the Silver and Black are listed as TS & TX.
With the White being a stock offering in the Mavrik and not designated as a “Tour Flex” should it be assumed that it’s not a “premium” shaft? Premium or not I got some of my best numbers ever with the White X and the Mavrik 10.5 SZ....270 carry / 290 total with my 106-108 club speed are 💣💣 for me! 😁

Yes the Rogue White that comes in the Mavrik is the same 130MSI - Aldila lists the White with S and X designations on their website. We have it on our list to test soon in the studio!
TXG Tour Experience Golf thanks for the quick reply! Looking forward to your take on Rogue White! The Mav SZ / White X was consistently hitting 160 ball speed which for me is rare with my G400 Max / KK XT 60X combo.
This is so interesting. How a shaft, for the same person, can lead to big distance gain compared to other shafts, depending on how that player reacts to different feels. So to say that one shaft is better than the other, like they do in many forums, just isnt true.
Ian: We'll be testing these 3 shafts to see which is a more counterbalanced shaft. Matt: Gimme any shaft and I'll bomb it 325 to 350!!!!
I’ve put a switch grip on my driver, which allows me to change weight in the grip my self. It would be nice if you could review that solution👍
When you where talking head weights at the end, where you talking with or without adapters?

Ian question for you. I play a Titleist TS3. Currently gaming a Aldila rouge silver 125 MSI 70 TX. I hit it really far but don’t like the lighter head weight. I’m going to get fitted and am really looking at the Fujikura Ventus Blue. Would you recommend the Ventus Blue for that head?
With the tensei orange in the callaway epic flash I couldn't really feel where the head was and always left it open. Tensei blue I felt was way better.
Curious as to whether shaft selection is dependent on not only swing speed as is usually advised but also type and speed of transition etc. I ask because I have been advised to go to A flex due to swing speed during a fitting but the lighter shafts at A flex don’t give me the feel Of the club and club head I like. Ken
When you talk about such fine margins between balance and feel and weight, how much difference does the grip make in all of this? You only test with a stock grip, what happens then if you want to switch that to something to match the rest of your clubs?
heavier or lighter grip will alter swingweight and total weight of the club, has to be taken into account with all fittings
Which of these is closest to the Oban HB shaft. Gaming that atm.
Wound it be a valid practice to use a cb shaft on lighter heads so you can load it up with as much weight as possible to up the moi and maybe ball speed?

Is nemesis more counter balanced than UST elements chrome or comparable? I just keep throwing this shaft into my new TM drivers (SIM) I love it but swing weight is prob light in the high Cs. It’s 75-78 grams so I could be losing some speed.
You mentioned the Fuji Pro TS. How did it compare to these 3? Was it just a little lower balance point or quite a bit compared to those 3 that are the highest BP?
quite a bit lower balance point than these, about 1.5 swingweights heavier in the same club
Ian. How heavy is my Epic Flash Sub-Zero with a 14g weight in the front? We ended up on the VA Raijin Black Four. Seems like one of these CB shafts might be a good candidate for my setup?
Not necessarily Ross, would probably lighten the swingweight quite a bit and change the feel of your driver
Hey guys i know this is old, but my tensei orange pro broke and was considering the tz6 cb since i love the tz6. I had my head hot melted to D5 and was wondering if the tensei and tz6 cb would swing weight the same or close to it??
I had a question, can you explain flex and frequency. I know frequency has many different clamp sizes, positions on the shaft, etc. I have 6.5 px shafts in all my irons and wedges. They all range 6.5 - 7.0 frequency at our machine at work. Is it worth my while to frequency match my woods as well? I had an driver atmos 7x black and it measured at like 8.2 ! Its hard to come by actually legitimate knowledge on the subject. I found an accra tz6 75 m4 and it measured out to 7.0 perfectly ? So do i worry about it? Or what have you found out about flex vs frequency?
Any club fitters in north Florida you know of?
Do you have an opinion on club champion- there is one of those in Jacksonville.

I know this isn’t that type of channel, but I vote we start putting sound effects when Matt starts ripping drives. I’m sitting by myself and making sound effects without thinking after he hits it and it lands 😂😂. I’m getting fit tomorrow and will ask the fitter about CB shafts. Thanks guys!

I love how when I went to get it fitting at club champion the fitter specifically said don't worry about getting weight up toward the grip or toward the handle or anything like that that's useless! It's so awesome when I go to get a fitting and I'm trying to get information and understand things and they act like you're completely ignorant and foolish when I know this would have felt better. That was over 5 years ago and now all the sudden this trend comes around and you're acting like it's important for people to know the different options that are available? This whole industry is pathetic in so many ways! A lot of Deceit and a lot of marketing and sales not actual education it's getting old.
How do these shafts compare to the ck pro orange in terms of balance point?

swing speed isn't what determines whether a counterbalanced shaft would benefit someone

please ask Ian to please get a 47 or 57 gram nemesys in as I would love to test that with a Mavrik max with a little extra junk in the trunk as far as headweight goes.... think that could be a fun combo for us slower swingers..... less than 3 months and I will be there again!

depends, 3-4 out of 10 is probably a rough estimate

I rather see the miss hits stay in the videos. In the end its about managing miss hits after all, not watching perfect shots with different tools all day long.

You can’t isolate the performance of equipment in the data if you leave in poor swings/human error
I'm noticing that the numbers I am seeing on TV are all around 1.50 to 1.52 and the rest of us are lucky to find a club that gets 1.45 efficiency.
trackman reads efficiency different than foresight, 1.45 is optimal on our machine

I think something is lost when we dont see how many shots you throw out and a description of why. If it takes more shots to get good ones doesnt that say something about the shaft or head being tested.
Sometimes yes, but sometimes no. When switching between heads and shafts it can throw of timing and rhythm which takes time to get back again. That isn't necessarily a fault or display of lower performance of that product though.
will add that a shot is only thrown out when it's because of a bad swing/player error - if the delivery, strike, etc. is good/consistent the shot will be in the data

😂 that's like saying someone made a 60 gram shaft 10 years ago...doesn't mean there isn't new technology, profiles, etc. being tested here
