I started cooking after seeing you 10 years ago and i start enjoyed cooking.
And I became a cook by profession.
Thank you for your work.
"from the bottom of my heart"
Cynthia Waller from Vancouver and today cooking Risotto, one of your recipes. Thanks
in Sweden we do it with sweet mustard, and egg and some bread crumbs. just rub it in and then in the oven untill its nearly burn(10 minutes ish) let it cool and you serve it with swedish hardbread and some more mustard. its called "julskinka" roughly translated to Christsmas ham
You gotta älska dat svensk julskinka med senap
I mean i love julskinka but got to say his version looks pretty damn good too.
And i like julskinka on vörtbröd aswell as knäckebröd with butter+mustard+cheese cause u know cheese and ham best friends
I just love to watch this guy cooking. I have learn alot from him.
When I first saw the recipe I thought that pepper and marmalade doesn't match.. I just cooked the ham. It's absolutely amazing! So easy to make! Looks and tastes divine! The best ham I've ever made. Thanks Jamie😉
Oh Goodness, Jamie, I wish I had this a couple weeks ago on our Thanksgiving. I usually serve baked ham, and this looks like a great change of pace. Cheers!
ginger n orange marmalade personal fav when i do Hams at xmas again this xmas for the staff I cook for chilli with brussel sprouts ....it works
November 2023.... This recipe still bangs😍
That looks deliciously succulent. The only time we eat ham is on Christmas Day. Will try this glaze this year.

My former mother in law would take a salty ham and soak it overnight in ginger ale and the resulting baked ham was phenomenal!!
Well done ! I love jamie oliver sharing the first time my meat overcook but i try again it is just nice thanks!
Thank you Jamie. This has been a great help to me. I love all your shows & recipes.
I made a ham tonight with this glaze and I have to tell you it was literally mind boggling. I was doubtful it would be as good as he said but I was wrong. This is absolutely legit and I highly recommend it. So simple yet so tasty. 10/10.
That's good to know because I'm a bit wary of not doing my usual honey mustard glaze for Christmas
It's October 2, 2021, and I'm already planning on cooking this come Christmas :D
Thanks greg
I cooked it last year and going to again this year. I recommend
Aw ya geek lols. It’s December 22 2021 here in New Zealand 🇳🇿 and I’m watching this for some ideas. Merry Christmas 🎄😀
Today is christmas eve... you could say i enjoy procrastination. Hahaha

A good baked ham is actually one of my favourite things to have at Christmas. Great for eggs Benedict Christmas morning and my late nanna used to give it to us on boxing day with cheesy mash, leftovers, pickles and salad.
Adam's Eats that’s sounds unreal apart from one thing SALAD😒
Honey baked ham ain't got nothin' on on this. 😍
Yeah I didn't get the salad part either. I think it was nannas way of getting some healthyness in the mix 🤣
I personally love salad, but what about home-made coleslaw with the ham? That would be lovely.
Sounds Amazing 😋😋😋😋😋😋
Hi Jamie, just cooked this and wow!
We actually met some years back at St Peter’s school when you were doing school dinners with Jeanette Orrey.
Have a great Christmas 🎄
Oh Jamie, Jamie, Jamie, am I allowed to say I love you? I just got your Jamie Oliver 5 ingredient Quick and Easy food cook book and I am so excited to make the dishes for my family. Thank you for blessing us with your talent. xoxo
Looks Perfect, never did it before... thank you 🤗
I've made this one a couple times now and it is always a hit. In fact, I am going to make it tomorrow. Can't wait.
Too sweet
Love his cooking
Hi Mr Oliver. I like so much your videos. I love cooking and I would like to be an Star Chef like you. I wish you all of Good Things
Hi, is there a written recipe for this ham? It looks great! But I am still unsure on the steps before the chef taking the meat put of the pot.
Fabuloso. Doing this right now thanks Jamie ❤
This looks amazing. Can this be done in the ninja? Just thinking that it would be more energy efficient in this difficult times. Thank you for sharing this 🎄
I would definitely like that for Christmas!
It's Saturday, 1st of July 2022 and i'm cooking this £ucker today!!!
If I survive Covid-19 I will do this for Thanksgiving.. wish me luck
Well did u survive
Omg it looks amazing I will be watching yr videos this Christmas for more ideas 😁😁😁😁😁😁
I was so excited to try this method this year, then I accidentally bought a spiral ham instead (I didn't look closely enough at the tag... 😢). Do you think this method would still work with a spiral ham?? If not, what tweaks could I make?
What did you do? I don't even know what to buy so I'm having a hard time. I really want to make this though!
Hi Jamie, top marks will give it a try many thanks. From the other Essex Boy .Brian
Going to be doing this ...for Christmas Eve 2020 what a year for the fam!❄️🌲✨👍🏻x
Thank Jamie. Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄😘
This will be my third year making this. It's awesome, thanks Jaime!
same here! third times the charm
Is the same cooking time for a 1.5kg ? Or much less ?
Heaven 😋😋😋😋
Pyszne 🤣
Thanks sooooooo much
Jamie, knew I could rely on you to feed my family in the best possible taste!! Love your kitchen btw
That looked absolutely amazing.
Gammon! LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can't believe he said get rid of the cooking water,we use it as stock to make lentil soup no need for stock cubes when you have fresh stock from the ham, mmmm.
He said to throw away the cold water. There are 3 processes here; soaking to remove salt, poaching to begin cooking, roasting to finish cooking.
@@ADMcAllister U just destroyed his comment
Mabey a chicken. Not the first boil of the ham
Ham water isn't stock
A question please.....do you poach the ham for the time specified on the label, i.e 20 min/500g....or do you poach for less time, seeing that it still goes to the oven for a substantial amount of time?
Thank you for any help. Xoxo
Ok so it’s not Christmas but why not try and make the best out of this horrible lockdown situation, I’m going to give it a try ❤️
This may be a stupid question, but what kind of marmalade?
good quality marmalade, not cheap
Looks like apricot.
marmalade is made of oranges
I wish l saw what you did with the raw ham. Before
It's June now, but I don't care, I'm cooking this tomorrow :)
Did you like it?
@@deekayeth It was lovely
Does the same cooking time apply to bigger ham?
Wow, I love ham! Great recipe, Jamie! 😃👍
Marmalade glaze? How about honey on ham? Then there is the old standard: pineapple. Personally, I never understood why anyway would take a perfectly good ham and try to turn it into a dessert. Makes as much sense as prime rib with chocolate frosting...
Orange Marmalade isn't too far off pineapple. Idiot.
This sounds delicious!
Looks mouth watering 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Definitely doing this for Christmas, thank you Jamie, you’re the best! Merry Christmas to you and family 🎄😃
Ahh Mr Oliver! You’ve done it again!! Definitely gonna try this during the holidays! 🙂
I f@# love Jamie tottaly dogs bits
I did it! It’s so amazing 😉 all my family couldn’t say any word just mmmmmmmmmm 👌🏻👍🏻😊
What’s the cooking time for a 1.5kg gammon please ?
Mike page from Portsmouth says he cooked this and it tasted like a arse hole
Please subtitles in spanish🙏🙏also in Mexico wee see your recipes😉, thank you.🙋
Wow! This looks incredible.
Christmas has been and gone I am now left with 1/2 a ham and as I am on my own there is no way I can eat it all, can you tell me the best way to freeze ham so I can enjoy it during the coming year. many thanks
My favorite handsome chef
I've made this like 5 times now and its been amazing every time. SUCH a great recipe 👌
You got a recommendation for switching the marmalade for something else? Maybe just honey? I tried it last year and loved it but find marmalade always leaves a bitter taste.
@@MRLUCCH what is that marmelade????and I don't have a big pot enough and why the hot water before? Does the skin come of easier and could I just help it keeping the ham in deep ovenpan with hot water in it and turning the piggy time 2time?? Does it have to boil or is it enough to just simmer???? Pls, gonna try this first time and start defrosting my 5.5kg pig soon and roast it on Monday
It’s Christmas 2021 8.20am in London and my ham is in the oven already 😁
Anyone know what kind of pepper to use - ground, powder?
Did this with traditional cloves stuck in the diamond pattern.. Plus use the thick shred marmalade - it sticks better plus you get the rind/peel adding a real flavour hit!
I make this every Christmas in my big green egg and it’s unreal, so looking forward to it this year.
is there another good alternative to marmalade?
Is it just me or is Jamie talking like Gennaro?
Oh my my
Yupp
I never heard of poaching ham before. I am definitely going to try this.👍🏻
I made one for Christmas. Delishous! Thank you so much 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Lovein your work Jamie you inspire me to cook with my mum for Christmas can’t wait
Was never a lover of gammon joints mainly because I was obviously cooking it wrongly. This recipe method is superb, so easy and so tasty. Gammon joints will now become part of my "favourite" recipes list.
Wow, made this for the family last year and it was awesome. Didn’t last long, it was gone by Boxing Day. Guess I’ll be buying a larger one this year! Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and your family. Cheers 🍾🥂🎅🎄
Same here - major hit!
@@KateyJ2011 Glad you enjoyed it too. Happy New Year!
So simple and so ... delicious. Jamie from now on it's my one of the no1 for Christmas. You are my master Yoda 😁
On Christmas Day we have a tradition of a sandwich and soup buffet. This year I am doing turkey breast. This ham look too amazing to pass up. On a fresh roll will be heaven.
We used to do turkey on Christmas too, now I make just ham for Christmas and turkey on Thanksgiving. It's been a hit like that. I hope you try ham this year. Merry Christmas!
if i served this with sage and clementine zest roasties, would that be too much of zesty tangy flavours?
I made this yesterday, and wasn’t impressed.
Probably because the recipe wasn’t clear wether you could use smoked gammon!
That’s what I used . And cooked the ham and glazed it exactly to this recipe. Although the glaze was ok ! Nothing I would get excited about! The taste of the smoked ham overpowered anything else ! Probably my fault for using smoked gammon! I think this recipe needs to be clear that only unsmoked gammon should be used ! I will give it another try , just to be fair on Jamie
My favourite master chef ❤️ Thanks for a gorgeous baked ham recipe - we will be doing this for Xmas... Christmas at the beach for us here in Australia. Merry Christmas to you and your family Jamie and an amazing new year xx
Merry Christmas to all of you watching this 😊
Although Jamie is a great cook and apparently a qualified sous chef! Jamie has never been a qualified head chef or a master chef
Can you give an idea for 2 bedroom downstairs one master bedroom up en-suite. Additional space for kitchen but still open plan . Then with swim pool/ seperate jacuzzi next to the pool . Pls ty🙏
Marmalade + Brits + Hams = Paddington
I cannot find a gammon for my life in the usa specifically ct

My hub loves his ham sandwiches. It's costing a fortune buying just a couple of slices from the supermarket. I am going to cook a ham, slice it up and freeze. It will be so much cheaper.
Oh my that ham looks so Gooooood!😋
Does anyone know if this works with raw Australian ham that's been "pumped". I am a pom in Australia so previously only used to gammon joints which you cannot seem to get easily in Australia
Currently cooking this right now ready for xmas day!
Mouthwatering ❤❤❤
Is there anything he can't make
❤
I love this but why boil it not straight away in the oven?
Maybe to remove some of the salt on the ham? But dunno
ginger n orange marmalade personal fav when i do Hams at xmas
Doing this now. Hope mine looks as good.
Where can i find the exact recipe and the kund of ham used please
I'm cooking this afternoon. Thanks for your easy to follow recipes Jamie 😋
keep in mind folks that's a 150.00 dollar ham he's starting off with - don't feel bad when urs isn't as good
Looks amazing!!
If you were to cook a 2kg joint would you just half all the poaching and cooking times? Thanks
I swallowed my tounge.
Was it good?
@@erikarnald419 yep. Delicious.

@@azara6621 yeah my mistake.
Looks good but i have had ham with glaze/honey etc but find there additional too sweet for me.

What flavour marmalade you got there? And why did you kept it in hot water at first?? I don't have big pot enough so could I just put it in 5cm deep ovenpan and boil water with kettle time2time (if it helps the skin come of) I've only cooked ham with a bag before as it's traditionally done here in finland but this Christmas I want it to b more special!!! Looks awesome 👌or should I just bag it first and wait inner temp to be 75C and then fo the glazing
Hi Jamie... I am an Indian.. We dnt really get ham here.. Especially such cuts of ham.. But I love d way u have cooked.. Looks tempting enuf to dream bot it.. As they say, food brings us together, sometime in my life I hope I Wil get ham n make ur recipe..
The recipe says to set aside the ham broth to freeze, but my hubby says ham broth is usually gross?! Can the Jamie Oliver crew link to some suggested recipes for that bone broth? Thx
