    Thank you so much for making this video. I obviously have never done this and this will be helpful when I do my brakes

    Great video - accurate and concise! Only thing missing would be mentioning the torques settings when putting bolts and lug nuts on.

      Taurus club of America is saying 24 for the caliper pins and 76 for the bracket bolts.

    Thanks man I was just changing the brakes on my wife's car and I actually just looked your video up to see if it was a closed system or if I had to bleed the brakes after and I had no idea that you had to get that special tool in order to push the piston back into the caliper.. So I would have been trying to do it with a regular clamp.

    Ever work on Ford 500? My ebrake doesnt work. I hear it click when i push pedal, but doesnt stop car. Inspector said its no good. Maybe seized? Or needs tighten? Or new pads? Dont know

    I'm about to do my front brakes and rotors one 2014 taurus police interceptor. Just double checking but when I use a c clamp to push the caliper back I don't have to bleed the brakes right?

    • @JaboTheMechanic
      @JaboTheMechanic  4 года назад +2

      That is correct unless you open the brake bleeder valve or disconnect the brake hose

      Hello I was wondering I have a 2013 and I am only doing the rear pads will I need to push in calipers?

    • @JaboTheMechanic
      @JaboTheMechanic  4 года назад +2

      I believe they need to twisted in

      The caliper piston twist back in with a special tool NOT push back in with a C clamp.

    Dont forget everyone get some decent brake pads do not cheap out with cheap brakes or your taurus will squeel because of the material padding

  • @thomasrodgers2291
    @thomasrodgers2291 3 года назад

    What happens if the little nob on the pad doesnt go into the notch on the caliper piston?

    the rear was so hard to do on my 14’ sel i broke 3 c clamps completely bent them in half and they are big and metal this is absolutely ridiculous spent 6 hours doing it , first time the brakes were smoking and i had to completely take off the new ones and put old ones back on because they were too big and they fit this car, the other side is FINE. Car locked up and back end started skidding randomly . Never taken me more than 2 hours to do this using lubricant impact no luck.

    Always go with oem or the top of the line that way the cars quiet when its driving

    Did you open the brake fluid reservoir before you started or was it closed the whole time? Thanks for the video!

    I’m having an issue with my brakes going to the floor and never opened the system. Just got done bleeding today and same thing, they still go to the floor. Do you think not lining those pistons up with the pads could cause this issue?

    If the rotor doesn't move what do you do?

      If the parking brake is not engaged, your caliper piston could be seized (new caliper).

    I hate twist in calipers. Only a lame company like Ford would still have this.

    This is the stupidest shit I've ever heard of sitting here trying to figure out Why my piston won't go back in and find out about this bullshit piston.
