Just replaced pads and rotors on my 15 SHO and now I’m noticing a clicking noise while driving. Pretty much goes away when brakes are applied. Not certain if you’ve ran into that issue before and have pointers for correcting said concern?
Did I miss the part about how you compressed the caliper pistons before reinstalling over the new and wider pads? You did compress the caliper pistons? That's the part I really wanted to see and if I need a special tool.
@@JoeTheAutoGuy Thanks Joe ... how did I miss that :( ... duh! Oh, I got a call at the exact time of the video I wanted to watch. Perfect timing. Great video. Thanks for the quick reply.
Only problem I saw was when you ground the pad seats down on the caliper bracket you didnt coat the raw metal.. just slapped the pad holders onto the seats.. that's coated metal covering raw metal that will most definitely get re corroded and rust... simple fix if you would have coated that with something, waited 5 minutes and then popped those holders on🤘
@@JoeTheAutoGuyYa I disagree with that.. I honestly dont believe coating those will attract anything other than good Karma for doing the job the right way 100 percent.. I'd say this job was done to the best of ability but rushed just a bit. I'll give it a B+ lol🤘🤘
First time watching a JoeTheAutoGuy video. He's got a great "on-air" presence, seems very knowledgeable and knows his tools. Thanks for the video!
Exactly what I needed. Thanks for throughly explaining everything and showing each step. I now how to do it the proper way!.
Great to hear!
@@JoeTheAutoGuy is this apply to a 2009 ford taurus x front brakes?
Thanks. Glad to see the front axle is normal and can press the caliper pistons back in without a special tool. I'm ready to dig in.
yes!!!! hope it went well
@@JoeTheAutoGuy Much success, easy as ever. Thanks!
I really appreciate the thoroughness of this video. Thank you!

There might be wear bars. One for each side for rear front pads to clarify.
You could have 2 of those on one side
Thanks for including the torque specs! I've seen wildly different information on various websites, none of which seemed sane.
Wondering if the torque specs are different on Taurus SHO's in that same year range. (2010)
The front calipers can just be reset with a c clamp, but I believe the rear calibers need a disc brake piston remover. They need to be screwed in.
do you not have to bleed the breaks?
Not unless you replaced the calipers or have the desire to do a brake flush

Front pads no just normal press
Also at 1:30 I show

Thanks, I think i can do it
Great job on the video , very well done, you explained everything the way it should be, keep up the good work 👍
Damn my dad’s Taurus has different calipers entirely

many people debate this one , i say your correct others say it attracts dirt and salt and rusts faster , but thanks for watching
