    This video is so helpful!!
    Im literally at the point of deciding whether I wanted to take a Japanese Straight perm or not seeing you styling your hair and eventually reaching a super cute hairdo at that stage without heat is just so convincing!
    Thank you so much!!

    Hey, I’m considering getting this treatment - I’m just hesitant about dealing with two different textures for so long. Used to be relaxed and would touch up every 5 weeks. What is your natural texture? Are there any cons? Thanks :)

    • @hunxue7778
      @hunxue7778  5 лет назад +1

      Hi! I definitely understand your concern, I was relaxed as well and got a fresh relaxer at about that point too. My natural texture is probably 4b, and how I deal with the texture difference is just deep conditioning every week, moisturizing well, and doing curly styles with flexirods (it looks better than leaving your hair straight because of the volume at your roots). The only con I can think of tbh is the price of the treatment.. but since you only get it once or twice a year it isn't THAT bad.

    Do you still use joico shampoo/conditioner? The first time my hair was superrr soft, and I loved it (I have Yuko straightening on the bottom half of my hair and just got my top 5 in touched up with lisco and neutralized with brazilian blowout). I only used Joico on the Yuko portion, and afterwards my hair was so soft and brittle. That was a couple years ago and now things are mostly back to normal. Curious as to how to worked out for you.

    Your hair is so cute! when you went natural after all the times you texturized your hair how long was it for? I texturized for the first time last friday and regret it a little:( and want to try japanese hair straightening, could I possibly wait about 4-5 months before doing this to get the best results?

    • @hunxue7778
      @hunxue7778  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you so much! :D
      I was natural for about 6 years before I decided to get the JSP!
      Oh no :( why don't you like it, I'm sorry it didn't work out! But yes! The longer you wait, the better tbh. When I got my first JSP touch up, it was 5 months after I got it the first time. The stylists suggest waiting until you have about 6 months to a year's worth of new growth.
      I wouldn't suggest you do it yourself, but if you do, be sure not to put the straight perm on your texturized hair!

    • @victoriaparedes9971
      @victoriaparedes9971 5 лет назад

      I dislike my texturized hair because when it dries it is poofy and very dry, the curls barely show and appears as if I did a blowout. Do you have any suggestions/products to maintain the curls I get when wet and the moisture, and how to keep it from poofing up? if so please recommend I would really appreciate it!:)

    What is the difference between this & the relaxer since you've experienced both?

    • @hunxue7778
      @hunxue7778  5 лет назад +11

      Hi! Some differences are the active ingredients, relaxers use sodium hydroxide and reconditioning (straight perm) uses thioglycolate which is supposedly a gentler chemical for your hair. I feel as though it's true because I barely have any breakage whereas, with a relaxer I had more breakage.
      The process is also different! It takes a lot longer to do (3-6 hours depending on length, thickness, and texture) than a relaxer process and your hair is straighter in the end (which may be a good or bad thing depending on how you like to wear your hair). If you like a silkier or straighter look to your hair you won't have to use heat tools very often unless you like to blow dry your hair. For my curly looks though, I go with over night flexi rod sets to avoid heat as much as possible. I hope this helps!

    • @hunxue7778
      @hunxue7778  5 лет назад

      No it won't come back, you'll have to transition back to natural or big chop.
      Maybe you could try one of those formaldehyde-free keratin treatments! I hear those work pretty well at maintaining straight hair in humidity! But you can wash it out over time :D I watch these youtubers called Twolala, they just started using those on their new growth and it seems to be working really well for them!

    Can you wear weaves ? After treatment

    • @hunxue7778
      @hunxue7778  5 лет назад +5

      You sure can! You have to wait 72 hrs before manipulating your hair though. Your hair is still kind of processing afterwards, so no ponytails, no hair behind the ears, no washing, no satin bonnets (I bought a satin pillow case), you have to wear your hair straight down to avoid awkward kinks and stuff, but after the 72 hrs you're good!
