I wonder what Disney is trying to do at this point. It's obvious they're trying to raise the viewer demographic for the whole network doing more adult-themed and older-teen-YA oriented shows like Andi Mack, Sydney to the Max, Descendants movie franchise, Raven's Home, and now this Lizzie McGuire reboot. I feel like we're gonna hear a Disney character finally say an unfiltered actual cuss word on the network soon.

Hilary is not engaged. She was married and had her first child, then divorced and now she's with another man with who she has her second child.

I can't wait for the Revival of Lizzie McGuire. Was one of my favorite TV show's. It was relatable for a teenage girl and it was absolutely amazing. I am too excited about Lizzie making a come back. I just hope the production will be similar to how it was. It looked more genuine. Now Disney makes shows look so staged and corny.
I'm pretty sure Disney+ has a bigger production budget than the Disney Channel. There's pictures floating around of Hilary filming outdoors... which is indicative that the show will not be 100% set based.
Disney channel shows now use a 3-4 camera setup much like traditional sitcoms you’d see on ABC or CBS. Lizzie, as well as even Stevens and most of the late 90s/early 2000s live action shows used a single camera. That’s so Raven was the first show on Disney to go toward the 3 camera set up.
It has nothing to do with being genuine. It’s just different types of filming.
Disney plus does have a much larger budget and it just depends on what direction they want the new show to go.
l3il3 they do some scenes outdoors on the original Lizzie but it was mostly just the backlot at the studio. I think the one Hillary showed with her yellow outfit was filmed in New York and of course that didn’t happen on the show.
Chris What you’re saying makes sense. It would be cool if they step back into that direction using the one camera. I don’t like how it looks like now, at all. I honestly feel like they try too hard with the decor and props for the sets. During the 90s and early 00s to me it looked genuine because it felt more familiar with the staging, it didn’t look like they were just walking around on a stage. They weren’t so stiff and over exaggerated with their personalities too. Now it seems like every actor is somehow trying to one up each other to get the most praise or attention. That’s why I was saying things are corny now and I hope it doesn’t turn out that way with this reboot.
Violett Reyes I’m sure it will be much different as it’s not on Disney channel and the demographic isn’t the 10-14 year olds but rather adults while still keeping it a family friendly program.
I do agree with you on the newer shows. I think it had to do with how the set was built and the colors they used as there are many well respected 3 camera sitcoms that were on for years
Let’s keep in mind the show creator Terri Minsky is returning and Hillary is also going to be an executive producer so the shows in good hands. Terri also created Andi Mack a more recent Disney channel show that returned to the single camera set up though that was more of a teen drama than a comedy but it did bring a much needed change to the network and sort of brought back the whole teen drama thing Disney did have in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Used to be the biggest Lizzie McGuire fan...I’ll never forget the day I was watching an old VHS tape of me & my family from the 90’s & accidentally recorded Lizzie McGuire over half of it..back when I had a fat body tv that had a VHS player/recorder attached to the bottom...man still haunts me til this day lol

Bryanna it sounds like we might have a chance at it fitting our age! Since it’s not in the Disney channel and they can have a range of different ratings of shows and movies on the platform. Also Lizzie doesn’t have kids Hilary said that so that’s a bit of hope they won’t do what the did to boy meets world when they did girl meets world.
