Lockdown Locos - Episode 2

- Опубликовано: 3 май 2020
- Something new to hopefully keep us entertained during the coronavirus lockdown! In each episode I literally spin the wheel (made by me out of some spare card) and I have to choose either a steam, diesel, electric or multiple unit train to have a quick look at! Let me know what you think, please feel free to make some suggestions and I hope you find it quirky!

Again great video, God do I love the 37s so I'm glad you did this :) The sound quality has improved by a decent amount and the current MGR trains are hauled by 70s and 66s with HHA hoppers mostly now. 12:30 typical Will leaving your air max 90s out :P. Also hi!
I KNEW someone would know! haha Thank you! :D
No problem and thank you for the pin

I was just wondering what to watch and then I saw a notification that InterCity82 has just uploaded a video. You have the saved the day, InterCity82. Thank you.
as did i.
HAHAHA Thank you for the comment!
good choice Will ! I can remember going up to Scotland (1961 when I was 9) to stay with my Nan ,and standing next to the loco, which Dad told me was a Deltic , a green one I think . A real earthshaker Wales UK.
stay safe i work in the nhs and your videos are keeping me going
Thanks for the comment and stay safe!
I love the Class 37, such a beautiful diesel locomotive! :)
Great video IC82 the class 37 is very nice I would say the best version is the split headcode because of how it looks
The class 37 was built in 1960 to 65 and built 309 altogether and today there are still 66 running on the mainline by various operators they were given the nickname tractors
Very good model that - I definitely have to get a split headcode one haha
got to love a tractor
Never underestimate the power of saying Hi. Entire life times worth of joy, start with a simple, Hi. :-)
Also good video again! And yeah a lucky dip style would be good. :-)
Okay, hi 😊
OK hi💩
hahaha agreed!
Class 37 are the best diesel locomotives of all time not just becouses of its shape but the sound are extremely iconic to time
If you really want to be organized, just put a little piece of tape on top of the locomotives when you run them saying "done" or something like that. Glade to see you back :)
rolling stock sounds like a good idea can't wait to see all of the wacky combos
I watched this on my break in work I came home and immediately watched it again 😜😜 what a great video will. Buzzing you are back with us ❤
Definitely keen on some lucky dip. don't need prototype here! bring a little joy and fun into it all!
It's fantastic to see you making videos again after all you have been through
You keep my enjoyment of trains going
Keep up the great work
I like the sound of the lucky dip idea 👍🏼
Videos are so amazing will, please keep em coming love em!!
You know what would be great idea too, you could do a wheel to choose either to run a DCC ready loco or DCC and DCC sound loco too!
Hey Will great video great series and yet again another great locomotive can’t wait to see what the next one brings
The audio quality of that 37 is like soooo much better than the last DCC 37. Nice review Will! Good to see youre back
Beautiful Loco!! Keep these vids coming mate. Love them 😀
It's amazing to see you back, you were one of the biggest influences of my childhood after Moleman978!
I like the rolling stock idea. It would be funny and cool to see a Jinty pulling 3 mega boxes.
Love your videos Cheers Ando
Love the series so far.
love all the recommendations you showed.Really think that will spice up the series.
Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! It is honestly so much fun to film. Quick, simple and fun. Great practice for me to get used to it all again!
If only model trains could produce the smells the real deals make, definitely agree with the lucky dip and rolling stock ideas. Keep up the amazing work 👍
Oh my gosh yes! I so wish it could chug out a cloud of thick smoke! haha
@@InterCity82 It would be fantastic!
I love this concept of lockdown locos, I think you should definitely Increase the frequency
I shall!
Wow, what an amazing train.
OH MY GOSH YES! I was so hoping for you to do the railfreight coal 37!!! Great video Will!! :-D :-D
hahaha glad you liked it! So did I! :D
A beautiful loco indeed. great video.
good to hear from you again Will ..crack on with the videos mate nice one..
Love your 95’s 😉
Just a thought, you could always, once used the selector to determine the type of loco, you could draw the specific loco out of a hat? Love it though, great job Will!! x
Great fun and the horn is awesome
Great vid, I like the rolling stock idea.
👍. Good to see you back
Your review of the mixed goods set years ago got my properly into this hobby
No way! :D thank you!
Once again a awesome video bud! I miss my model trains, they’re all in storage till I move.
I love the class 37 horn
Nice to see the C37
Very entertaining video. Class 37s are one of my all-time favourite locos, I have a dcc sound one aswell in Rail Operation Group, definitely the best locomotive out of all my models. Unfortunately the real things aren't easily seen in my area, they run monthly in the middle of the night on network rail test trains. Luckily I can still see them on trips to London ect.
Like King Arthur he has returned to entertain/save Britain in her hour of need! Good to have you back Will thanks for the awesome content!
ahahahaha you Sir are too kind - it's honestly fun filming these little vids. A great way to get used to filming and editing again.
great vids always make me smile maybe try doing some fun challenges with the locos after the lube and running maybe try seeing how fast it could go past points or see how much it could move a curve and sort of have fun with them
Very great video as always bud! I miss my model trains, they’re all in storage until i move...
Fantastic model great choice
Top draw video Will, totally enjoyable. I think increasing to twice a week would be just right as that would leave you plenty of days to do the other content that you film. The rolling stock spin the wheel sounds great you should definitely look into that. Keep safe and take care, regards Gary.
I forgot about this channel! I used to watch it when i was little and loved the videos!
Oh my gosh! hahaha (I feel old) But thank you for checking me out again! :D
absolutely amazing video, i look forward to seeing more allthoug i hope it does get lifted soon..anyways keep up the great work! - cheers, adam
Thank you for the comment, Adam - and stay SAFE!
I like the idea of the cargo
Also amazing vid
Nice video. The sound sounded great. I could here you loud and clear. The putting random coaches idea I really like. I like the lucky did idea as well.
Thank you very much!
Train-tastic video, InterCity82. Thank you and well done.
I love that word! hahaha
Can we get a video tour of the proper layout room? So glad to see you're going going to be making videos on a regular basis again! I also really think that the random consist idea is a great one too!
Think those are good suggestions
I like the viewing / dusting of piece of rolling stock, but perhaps that should be dedicated to another series of videos? It could get a messy and complicated, if we start adding rolling stock to this Lockdown Locos series as well.
Another brilliant episode of lockdown locos, I do think some of the ideas people suggested are brilliant. I really like the lucky dip idea. I’ve also got an idea, perhaps have wheel for different gauge gauge like OO or N Gauge
OMG yes! hahaha - In the end I'll have like 20 wheels to spin before I film anything running hahaha
Another episode of locdown loco next idea you should do is a n gauge both steam And diesel or do merryground locomotives
I love your videos. Once I get home from college I’ll have to get my HO stuff :)
Yes 3 a week would be great. Thanks Will.
I was thinking maybe three. At least two. Thank you!
Yes, I wouldn't two, three or more of these Lockdown Locos videos a week. I enjoy them.
Can you do a video rebuilding the conservatory railway please? (Like adding the sidings or small platform)
-Fred
Great video I enjoyed watching it
Thank you!
never finished the last one, but i will watch the whole of this one
Please do! :)
Cool nice video I love hornbys
Hi Will! I'm your number one fan from Finland!
Finland! Wow! Thank you for the comment!
Can you also do a LEGO train running session
hi ic82 im a big fan I've been waching for 5 years
i love the 158 in scotrail livery and hst
Hey IC82, I'm 25 and have always enjoyed your videos. I have one question. Which electric locomotive is your favorite and why? Keep making awesome videos.
Yay! 37’s rock! They’re absolute beasts and look like they’re alive! Have you ever seen ‘Dual’ by Steven Spielberg? They remind me very much of the ‘villain’ in that film 😁
Looks like you may need a secondary system for choosing the loco after you choose the genre! :) :) To take away more valuable minutes of your day- or maybe save them, depending on how long it takes too pick one out- put all the names/classes of locos on strips and put them in little containers, so when the spinner hits "Steam," you then go to your little basket and draw out which loco to review. We the audience will always enjoy, but that sounds like a lot of work to do, just for a video. lol
An excellent idea! Thank you!! True it would take a little bit of time to set-up - but once it was, it should be simple enough, I will give it serious thought and screenshot this. Thanks!
once lockdown is over all the locos that was featured in loco lockdown, you should do aq big running session with those locos
Hey you should keep going and I agree with the lucky dip and the sticky notes after every loco or dmu or emu
Yeet
I think that you should try doing the next episode in the railway room, then the episode after that back in the conservatory, so basically swapping between railway room and conservatory every episode. I also think the dip idea is interesting. Give it a go! :D
Thank you for that idea!
@@InterCity82, your welcome!
You looked for so long for the coal sector one too, how could you forget lol! Remember searching all Model Rail Scotland’s dealers for one for you! G
hahaha I had half the planet looking, it was crazy! :D
You should do a tour! I’d like to see your different areas with trains!
You mean of the house? Or the county?
@@InterCity82 the house! we could see the n scale in your office, the proper layout and your "crew works"
Firstly lucky dip sounds like a good idea and "hauling a rake of trains, " how many engines you gonna put behind each of them
I love the idea of a rolling stock wheel! Perhaps something like passenger, coal, mixed goods, etc would be options on the wheel?
Yes, the engines that the real-life Class 37's are fitted with, are very recognisable.
Wil again a good video and your are right the class 37 is a beauty maybe time for a another one and make a collection of the class 37 locos ? Greetings from Zaandam the Netherlands (nearby Amsterdam).
wow! The Netherlands! I hope you're all staying safe over there? Maybe do a Class 37 special?
Can't really beat a 37. I've got about 7 myself, one being Bachmann in Colas. Great video as usual. 👍
Hey Darren! Now that Colas livery... oh my gosh. I bet you've got photos of it too yeah?
I do somewhere. It's currently in my storage unit with the rest of my models, unfortunately.
Congratulations Will!! You made it through the comments!! I'm guessing this will be near the bottom so keep at it!! And whilst you are here, is there any chance of doing Train Sim World soon? I know a senior producer for Dovetail Games (namely Matt Peddlesden) and he is trying to promote TSW to the younger and older community. He is into model trains as well so I'm guessing he gave you TSW for free.
Oh, I almost forgot. I bought an FGW HST 2 years ago and I wanted to send it to you for mailbox monday. Maybe when lockdown is over?? 😁
How I rant on!!
Love to see more videos from you! Regarding the new mic, the sound may be better quality, can't tell exactly, however the volume is often too quiet to hear properly and seems to fluctuate a bit to me. Hope that helps!
Love your Bachmann dcc sound class 37, one of my favourites. I recommend getting a hornby class 66. Even though they are simple they really are good. I have one and with the tts sound and a massive speaker. They are not quite like Bachmann locos but they are really good.
Thanks for the comment! Aren't those TTS sound chips excellent for the money? Don't you think?!
I agree. I am getting another one soon.
Hey Will, perhaps you could replace the locomotives from the lucky dip with ones from the layout upstairs and that gives even more variety :) :) :)
Thank you for the sugesstion! Loads are coming in! haha
Another fabulous video! Would love the lucky pick and rolling stock ideas. when will your next review be? Thanks again Will!
Thank you! Craig is working on the APT video. I'm working on a layout video and camera video. We will both be doing a Workshop Live as well.
@@InterCity82 can't wait!
Coal sector class 37 nice, I have a rail freight coal sector tie, apparently they're quite sought after....
Loving the series so far! Any chance you would be able to continue it even after lockdown ends? Would need a new name lol. IC82s wee-views? But I think these mini reviews/running sessions are brilliant.
37s are simply amazing, my favourite model in my collection is a bachmann 37025. Split headcode, BR large logo, weathered and sound by the fantastic legomanbiffo. What's not to like!
oh gosh! Yes I forgot about the split headcode models! I find these little vids so fun and easy to do I will definitely keep the series going - but will think of a spin on the name hahaha
It doesn’t get much better than a dcc sound class 37. Also thing that the lucky dip idea and rolling stock idea is a really good and I think you should do it.
I think that's gonna be a dead cert for Episode 3!
It’s a comment like this that you need to look for.
5:01 That looks a lot like Diesel 10 from TatMR. Just add a small crusher claw and an evil-looking grin to the front and you have him.
Yeah do a collab with Moleman as he has returned
I will be in touch with him very soon!
@@InterCity82 I'm exploding with joy!
Look there is no beating a diesel for me, so I'm glad one was covered so early
Hi will,
In addition to the rolling stock wheel.
Have 4 categories; 1) vintage coaches, 2) modern coaches, 3) vintage goods stock, 4) modern goods stock.
Would make some interesting combinations for you. Plus it allows some digression for you to chose what you put behind the loco.
Questions,
1) is the ‘worlds most famous piece of skirting board’ sign going to return?
2) what do the HSTs class under? As I’m many aspects they’re essentially multiple units but are technically separate locos and coaches and classed as such.
Nice video, regards,
Ross.
Thanks for the comment, Ross! I'll screenshot that suggestion, thank you! And as for the skirting board, well I think a new sign is needed. I'd have to have a good think about where the old one disappeared to! And I suppose the HSTs could be classed as both a multiple unit AND diesel. Maybe. They sort of blur the boundaries a it don't they? What do you think?
InterCity82 hi will,
I guess the HSTs are two separate entities I.E classes 43 and 91/82 (DVT) being the coaching stock applied are either MK3 or MK4 coaches and the locos being separate.
Where as the Pendileno, Voyagers, Eurostar’s, Javilins and now the Hitachi 800 series being a fixed unit.
Would be interesting to see a pair of 43 power cars on a vintage unfitted goods train or a class 91 plus class 82 DVT on the mega boxes or MGR hoppers.
Ross.
Can you please make an updated, “How to build a model railway”?
Hi will brilliant video you could do a wheel for less detailed locomotives detailed locomotives and super detailed locomotives
I'll do the rolling stock wheel first - see how it goes hahaha
I personally think you should do the first two suggestions
I saw an O gauge class 90 in GRAND CENTRAL
DRS used to run them from Carlisle to barrow-in-furness sadly stopped at the end of 2018 used to sit on platform 1 & 2 (its regular platform) on my lunch break from collage ( I had recently moved back up north and didn't have friend so would and still do spend my lunch times at the station) they would already be there when I got there then would leave at 12:08 even idling she sounds awesome even better when departing she would shake the station LOVED THEM! love them so much I got a Bachmann one of the loco I saw most 37401 Mary queen of scots in BR large logo the only other two i really remember was isle of mull and I once saw Avro Vulcan (she was the last one I saw leave Carlisle on the passenger runs to barrow) sadly never got to go on them I heard rumors of them going but didn't really take notice till they went very sad was even in Carlisle on there last day if I had know would have done everything in my power to see them go sadly not much 37 activity here now there's a bunch at the kingsmoor depot but I don't see them run (however I don't live in Carlisle so maybe they do I might just not be around to see them) or colas rail use them on there national rail trains but never seen one run other than one or two but they were always in the distance love them truly underrated locos
Nice video as always looking forward to the next one
Cheers - TWS-141
Sorry actually I did see one go through Armathwaite a couple of weeks ago just after the beginning of this lockdown no clue which one I hear her than ran out onto the road just in time to see her on the southbound line of the Carlisle- settle railway just before going under a bridge in the distance
Hiya Sam. There should be a Haulage Capability Standard for youtube, using either hornby tanker wagons or the Blue Norstand open wagons.
Wrong guy, I'm not as good as him haha but I think me and Sam would definitely agree on a haulage standard!
@@InterCity82 I'm trying to do my loft layout on the floor cause you get more room then. Also trying some radical wierd changes to track layout as no one else has done. Slow process but it will be done. Sorry Will.
