Lockdown Locos - Episode 1

- Опубликовано: 26 апр 2020
- Something new to hopefully keep us entertained during the coronavirus lockdown! In each episode I literally spin the wheel (made by me out of some spare card) and I have to choose either a steam, diesel, electric or multiple unit train to have a quick look at! Let me know what you think, please feel free to make some suggestions and I hope you find it quirky!

Love the video , just a question , could you run the locos with a train?
WHY NOT :D I'll grab a box of rolling stock for the next one. Maybe make another spinner for the rolling stock? hahaha
@@InterCity82 yes definitely in coaches , wagons etc. Sounds amazing!
InterCity82 Segments of the Rolling Stock wheel:
Coaches
Freight Cars (open gondolas, flatbeds, well flatbeds)
Freight Cars (Boxcars, covered gondolas, mega boxes)
Miscellaneous (cabooses or other types of rolling stock I didn’t mention)
James Groccia thats the american version your thinking of
Love how will suddenly realised how difficult it was to pick just one loco from that huge collection he has 😂😂
We’re so grateful that you’re back, you left this behind a year ago: 👑
I did - it's een tough - but trains were always there for me. Waiting. haha
Sooooo glad you're back, didn't realise how much I missed your videos, stay safe.
i totally agree
Same
Thank you! You too!
You have such an amazing collection! Keep going with the episodes.
Thank you! Will do!
when a grown man sits like a little boy talking about model trains.... it is funny but at the same time 'refreshing' in the sense he looks happy
I love this, really such a great video! Best part of my day
the loco he put back "what so I'm not important!?"
Just discovered this video nice to see you back being watching some of your old stuff 😀
Love the video! Love your TN’s too mate 😉
Hi. Welcome back.
Enjoyed the video and lovely loco.
Looking forward to see your review videos returning.
Take care basil Ireland.
Very good idea , can't wait to see more.
Thank you!
AHHHH!! You’re back!! This is exciting!!
Gonna need some more of these in lockdown
I love the look of the G2A locomotive! It looks pretty unusual for a steam locomotive since it doesn't have any bogies at the front or rear, it's basically just an 0-8-0 tender locomotive. But it makes for a great freight locomotive since the more driving wheels the locomotive has, the more it can manage a lot of goods trains. :P
Very good point! She is a bit of an odd one - but such a beast when it comes to freight!
This definitely brightened my spirits.
Thank you! Just a bit of fun. That's what it's about. hahaha
i loved this
Please keep doing this I love the Idea
It's very easy to do. I will definitely keep it going! Thanks!
Thanks yay
Hello from India! Love the idea...these locos are so expensive I could possibly be picking one only once in two or three years...dammit! So its so exciting to see your entire range! Brava
Great idea!! We've missed this kind of stuff! :-)
Great video ic82 good to see some more locos
Pacific CY wants more lockdown locos! I think it is a good idea to clean and test out old locos that haven't been ran in... Well... 77 years? I don't know when you got most of your locos, for all I know, your first one could have been be for the stone age! ;) Keep up the good work!
Great video InterCity82. Well done and thank you for uploading it.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you.
I have watched 4 minutes of this video so far and I like the sound of this. Please upload more videos of it in the near future. Now to continue watching the video.
This is a fun idea. I knew you had lots of locos and this way will see, at least some of them in action.
Edit: That’s awesome man! I need to do this to Save my funds!
Hey Will. I am a long time fan, subscriber, and supporter That was a very entertaining video can’t wait to see what is next. Keep up the good work
Awesome! Thank you!
WOW! I really like this new series you have started! It gives a unique perspective on all the locomotives you have reviewed/shown in the past, and it's actually quite entertaining! I like the mailbox videos, but they can become repetitive over time, so I really like the new spin on things. I hope quarantine is treating you well (under all the circumstances), and I hope you and Craig and the rest of your families stay healthy and safe :).
Thank you, Adrian! You stay safe too!
It’s great to see you back and you seem to be fully committed to this now and I’d love to see you get back to your old ways and review locos and obviously see some fun things inbertween like this video
THANK YOU
oopps - caps lock was on #yupivestillgotiit
InterCity82 haha I can relate
This is a awesome video, I think this will be a brilliant series
Thank you!
i think this is gonna be great will hope it all goes well cant wait for the other videos like the apt project
Craig is doing a Workshop Live next, and after that it will be the APT Project.
O yes this series is gonna be good!
Hi, Made my day, wonderful, Thankyou!
Thank you too!
Hi will, absolutely love the idea of the lockdown locos series.
The spinning wheel is a great idea, can I also suggest doing like I luck dip for each section on the spinning wheel, then you write down all the trains you have then put them in one of four boxes corresponding to the train power spinner? If it’ll make it easier for you to choose.
If not continue with the great work.
Thanks for the suggestion, Marc! I shall screenshot it!
Love your vids I'm glad your doing things like this
Thank you!
That was a nice, calming video to watch. I think you just need a bit more preperation for the vid and just a bit smoother overall, but it works really well, love it.
Hi, good to see you back consistently and trains running again. Missed that, so yes more please. If possible repair / restoration type videos too? I’ll look forward to seeing what you do next
Watch out for a Workshop Live this Wednesday!
Please continue this Lockown Locos series. I enjoyed this video and I am sure I will enjoy future videos as well.
Another great video Will. You would be correct in saying that the loco is a Bachmann G2A aka the Super D. This series (if you make it one) is a grand idea considering the ammount of stock you've collected over the years. This episode was certainly an enjoyable watch!
Thank you! If you have any suggestions please do share them!
Yay
Fantastic video as always also I dropped everything I was doing when I got the notification can’t wait to see what’s next keep it up! Also LMS forever!
Lots of love from Hannah
Haha! At least you get a notification! I don't! :D haha
InterCity82 good point 😂and I love getting notifications
Nice idea for a series so yes keep it going. You should have had four boxes made up with all the loco names in so after spinning the wheel you could have randomly picked out a loco of the selected type.
An excellent idea! I will feature this! Thank you!
ah the famous skirting board, this is what im doing with alot of n gauge, trying to figure out why it wont run and how to get it to move haha stay safe :), ps great series id love to see more
Nice keep this series going
I'm enjoying it so far will! Id watch you when I was young and have recently got back into the hobby, so its fun to have some new ic82!
omg another one here to make me feel old HAHAH :D thank you for being so patient with me tho!
@@InterCity82 It really hasnt been that long, and its worth the wait!
Hey man! Been watching before you started the Minecraft series!
Yay he’s back
first YES continue i enjoy watching this
second you were right with it being a class G2A by bachmann with DCC chip in the tender
good idea maybe to stop the wheel from falling off the stand when spinning it you should put a bit of lego and a needle facing the other arrow then attach it witha bit of blue tac then when you spin the wheel it wont fall off and amazing work happy your back and cant wait till the lego set and my fav train is a class 66 any 66 mainly bachmann 66 not hornby i enjoyed the vid keep up the good work
Love your videos
Thank you, Charlee!
InterCity82 you are welcome
Lovely Loco 😀
Video idea? Choose 4locos that fit the categories on Hattons for example to the value to £20-£45 and use the spinner to decide what you get and order it and do a ‘classic’ review ;)
Beautiful model.
It sure is!
If you feel the desire to look at an old locomotive once again, may I recommend your Bachmann Ivatt 2MT tender engine? Your old review of that engine is the video that got me into this hobby all those years ago! It's a very special loco to me!
Awesome Video! Hope your Okay!
Great video! Please do more!
Nice video
Nice
Hello love the new videos could you do another layout build like the n gauge. Also can you do a episode where you show off dcc sound locos with a train to pull. Stay safe
I think i should do this myself. Good Idea Will. Also I love your videos.
Yes go for it! Fun is all that matters.
@@InterCity82 You are one of the best model railway channels like New Junction. Good Luck buddy!
Good video will
Excellent Video Will! I have been watching your videos since I was 3 years old!
Keep well and when we have all clear, I will send some things in for the Mailbox.
Alex.
Oh wow!! haha now I feel old hahaha And thank you!
@@InterCity82 No Problem! Alex
Nice loco, can you do a wee running session please?
Using Cyber Clean to clean the loco at 6:12 is much more effective
Maybe choose for every category a loco, do some research about them, tell us which ones you have chosen and then spin it. Tell what you want about that one loco and run him. (maybe show how you have cleaned it)
Intercity82 was floor gang before PewDiePie
Who is he? :P
The strength test videos were with the black 5, class 37 and a 9F, you could do a video with some of the other locos though.
I would’ve been so happy if you chose Thomas The Tank Engine 🤣
More of this!
best to number batch the locos and roll a dice for the loco after spinning to find what power loco it will be. give the full randomness that would be even more interesting
Bodging at its best there will
I'm sure a real example is preserved and running.
The G2As are commonly known as the Super D
very nice series to start to entertain us all i also started getting back into the hobby and could you possibaley do another video on n gauge
Yup Yup yup! More N Gauge on the way. Lots on the way! Some videos like this one take a few hours to make. But layout updates and projects take a bit longer - like a few days or even weeks.
Brilliant video can you more videos in this series please
if you do another one I would really like to see a b12!
I have a question
I know its been years when you got your wartime back flying scotsman
but have you fitted the smoke delfectors or not
because if you have how did you do it?
Stay safe : Ian
OH MY GOSH - I forgot I even had that?!?!?!
Well theres your answer
Please do another one, keep going until you get a diesel.
Loving the trainers as usual, are they Nike TNs?
Ic82 keep this series going i lie it already when it episode 1
Thank you!
Ik I’m so late but in your thumbnail where did you get that 37 it’s in my favourite livery and it’s my favourite train I wanna cop one plus love your vids!
I hope to see the DCC Class 37 from Bachmann is getting looked at, the vid for it was the first video of you I watched
Oh I hope so too! :D
I hope for a 101 next!
ME TOO!
Also what happen to that blue 'Plaque' you used to have on your skirting board of your Conservatory next to your starting point on your Model Railway line??? - can't quite what remember what it said on it though!!
you should probly revisit locos that u began ur channel with or even when u started in model railways
Glad to see you are fit and well and back uploading videos! There is a bias in that wheel of fortune in that the starting position determines the result! If the wheel of fortune spins to EMU: here are some ideas for future reviews: Hornby HJ1042 SNCF OUIGO TGV versus MEHANO T114 "Tgv Ouigo". Which is the best set and value for money? Speed, acceleration, derailment problems? Jouef Junior HJ1060 TGV Duplex Railway Set versus Ouigo version. Which livery do you like best? Hornby "Beatles" Eurostar (You've got to get this! I've got mine on pre-order from Hattons!). Jouef Eurostar (now discontinued, BUT high end HO version has lights and working panto). Jouef Eurostar will go with Thalys - there are both Hornby and Mehano versions. John Chambers says there is not much to choose between Hornby and Mehano Thalys. If you get the Beatles Eurostar, it will run to Paris Gare du Nord, where you can have the HO Eurostar, and the Thalys. That is to say if your layout has a cross-channel service! You have got to use your imagination a bit to collect SNCF stuff! The OUIGO runs from another Paris terminus, but quite a colourful item to collect. Looks fun!
hi will im 9 years old my name is brain love u vids my favourite train is the class 43 in scotrail livery and the scotrail 158
Do you still have the megaboxes it would be cool to do another thing like battle of the shunters
Love the content! Are you going to make proper layout content?
YES - but that video takes longer to make
@@InterCity82 thank you! ive been watching since about 2010 and i love all of you videos. I am so glad you are making content again! I used to really like the videos where you just run the trains! I remember running around my local hobby stores looking for a "DMU" in america unable to find them when i was much younger because of your videos about them!
The only big loco I have is a old Lima 73. I was going to get a class 70 or something but I didn't get round to getting it.
Do!
Will u be getting the new hornby apt?
Nice video. Do you know on a rough basis how many model trains you have?
Nope! About 200, I think, or maybe 150?
@@InterCity82 Plenty to enjoy and have fun with then.
I've been waiting for a year now. It's 2022, and I'm not being pushy and I know things I don't know may be going on in your life. But I do miss your videos!! And do you think you will come back anytime soon? Thanks, Liam. Great vid btw.
Will you need to do some railway room videos on the progress
You should really do a railway tour through ur house
Welcome to Wheel of Fortune with Will/IC82 😀
HAHAHAHA - I'm writing to ITV right now! (Or maybe Channel 4?)
So each in each Lockdown Locos video, you will be spinning the picker turntable once each video for the locomotive category; You will provide some information on the locomotive you have chosen, clean it and test run it, to put away?
That's the plan!
OK, cool.
The price is right! Ic82 edition.
YES!!! I SO want that show! ahahaha you'd go on right?! :D
@@InterCity82 yeah 😃
Hiya - @ 5:40 - To help you choose what type of Loco - why don't you do / make another 'spinner' which has i.e No. of wheels - 0-4-0, 0-6-0, A1A-A1A etc or maybe size Small, medium, large, or Colour, Livery - I think you get the idea!!!
Advice is a secondhand Bachmann. 57 pre Ow with. Leg off sound a worthy buy🤔😯
It is a stunning model, I'd give it a go.
Is there a drawbar permanently connecting the locomotive and tender together? If so, I do not like this much. Locomotive are easier to handle if they the loco and tender are separate.
It isn't too bad - just about gets away with it. No way would it be fun to hold if she was a Princess Royal in size!
Oh, I totally agree with you here.
