Lockdown Locos - Episode 5

- Something new to hopefully keep us entertained during the coronavirus lockdown! In each episode I literally spin the wheel (made by me out of some spare card) and I have to choose either a steam, diesel, electric or multiple unit train to have a quick look at! Let me know what you think, please feel free to make some suggestions and I hope you find it quirky!

Someday we might get Smokey Joe hauling the express 😁
:D
It would be smokey 90 if that motor bust!
but he doesn´t have a Smokey Joe
Lol
XD
Class 90 primarily a West Coast Loco , Will . Yes latterly they were used by Anglia on the Norwich service and they have been used on East Coast , but primarily they were used on West Coast Main Line . I remember them new at Glasgow Central on the Euston service . Latterly they got Virgin colours and you could see 90s or 87s on the Euston Service . They were also used by Freightliner
I absolutely love the spin music! Genius. Also love your TN’s!!!
fantastic will :D that's awesome :D so glad you are back and a perfect way to relax after a hard days work :D
awesome video - really enjoying the "silly" lash ups the spinners create
Fun stuff as always. What a cool combination of never seen in real life stuff. :D I hope you have as much fun putting it together as it is watching it. Cheers.
Hi Will, good job getting that old 90 running, youll perhaps hv to get one of the new Bachmann ones.
You said about the spinner choosing electrics. I’m thinking the hole is off centre and electric DMU is slightly weighted in their favor. I would snip off a bit to ensure the hole is in the middle with compass or pencil on string / cotton? Or make a new one. That way you’ll get your diesels and steamers
Hi Will/IC82, I loved the Class 90's (and still do), I was once very lucky enough to actually drive one (90034) from the buffer stops to the end of the platform (all with the help of an awesome driver who allowed me to operate the throttle and brakes, I only asked to have a look inside the cab) at Manchester Piccadilly in the early 1990's when I was just a teenager, at that time the loco hauled trains to and from London Euston to Manchester were just a turn around service where once the Loco hauled InterCity trains arrived at either Euston or Piccadilly before the introduction of the Mark 3 DVT's were then uncoupled from the rolling stock and another loco would come from a pilot siding and couple up at the other end to take the outbound service back, the loco which brought the service in would then move out of the station to the pilot siding to await for the next service, the loco's were mostly Class 86's or 87's but you did get a few of the Class 90's coming to Manchester which was fairly a rare sight as the Class 90's were predominately used for the London to Scotland WCML route.
my apologies for the length of this comment and keep the great vids coming and I'll look forward to watching many more.
Amazing vid sound and visual quality is on point
saying it would look weird, but with LSL around and them getting 2 90s, this could become a common sight with a 90 on mk1/mk2s for what an old lima/ old hornby its doing really well especially for sitting on a shelf for so long, its still so great to see you back
The Class 90s that were with Greater Anglia have now moved to Freight Liner for their next life. These will replace the 86s that are currently on the freight duties. The 755 and 745 have now replaced the 90s on that line. Grand Central are using ex DB 90s for their Blackpool to Euston Services when they get back up and running. Nice video Will. Well done.
I LOVE TRAINS!
Great videos!
Hi Will,
please,I beg you, read this comment. When you spin the wheel & it chooses the train(either steam, diesel, electric or MU),maybe you can double head them.Like, when you choose a steam engine,yo can pick both to increase the job of the lockdown.Like, the LNER B12 with the LMS Black 5.Great vids,Will!
Do a review on the Brawa DR 132 Ludmilla cuz i couldn't find many reviews on it
and i would really like to hear your opinion on it.
yes. i've been wanting to hear other opinions on it
He doesn’t review German engines, as far as I’m aware.
@@bennickss oh well
Another great video! Maybe next time we will see a Class D pulling those Intercity Swallow Mk3s that this Class 90 should have pulled! ;) Keep up the good work! :D
Nice t shirt Will. The pun is kinda funny. Looks like a Sherman. Yes I'm a tank AND train nerd.....
gŕeat video I'm really enjoying this series
either the class 90, 91 or the 92 is one of the last ever British built locomotive. There is a way to spot tonnes of 90's in Crewe near Crewe station if you go down whistaston road business park you should go by a mini line of 92 and 90 then if you keep going you will get to the massive line of 90 in all kinds of liveries because that is where Crewe IEMD is located. Virgin trains inherited 15 class 90's No. 90001-90015 for there services and in 1998 90002 was painted into virgin trains red and black and was named mission: impossible but now locomotive services limited which is based at crewe now owns class 90001 and 90002 (currently at Eastleigh Works for repainting) is coming back to its home turf for the first time in 15 years and 9 months! if you dont count when virgin trains used some DB class 90 for loco hauled after the Grayrigg train detrailment which ended on 25th october 2014
Great video will a very nice locomotive there
I love the 90 and have the updated one in EWS and talking about streamlined electric locomotives I recently acquired a resin class 89 body and I’m going to paint it in swallow livery
Great video! 👍
hi will, the class 90 ran on the great eastern main line from approx 2004 - may 2020 with 15 allocated to crown point depot in norwich on push-pull with a mk3 dvt, these locos have now been moved and allocated to freightliner which marked the end of locomotive hauled services on london liverpool street to norwich line.
many thanks stewart
yes ! and before that they ran with virgin on the west coast so I'm surprised will can't remember them
Will, you said you don't remember seeing a class 90, must be old age (😉) your 100th vid on this channel is of 90019 on Caledonian sleeper (when it was operated with EWS/DB locos) at Crewe 😁
I have 90019 and one MK3 sleeper carriage
Dat T shirt man. :D A good video BTW I enjoyed it. :)
As a suggestion, you could remake the loco wheel to proportionaly represent the number of each type of loco you have.
For example (with easy maths!), if you have 150 steam, 100 diessl, 70 electric and 40 MUs, make each segment with that degrees. I guess you may have to scale up to 360 degrees.
Keep up the great videos
The Class 90's are even better with a light kit (if used in an express train it really compliments the latest Hornby Class 91 dummy cars which is already pre fitted with lights).
Surprised you didn't pick the Hornby Class 92 though. Considering it's about the same price as the Hornby 66 but has way more features (and working lighting), it's quite a strong contender imo (the real life counterpart is also very powerful).
Looks like a railtour set up with a Class 91 and BR Mk1s from Euston to Carnforth before a replacing the loco for a steam loco to run over the Settle to Carlisle
Hey early!
Also hi intercity82!
You use the same Combi controller as I have. So much better than the Hornby standard DC controller.
I would love to see a double/single headed train wheel
Would be wheel-ey good
Not sure if you've noticed, but sometimes during the beginning of clips and during the audio peaks, then levels off? Still a great video :)
What happened to the LEGO pilons that used to raise the wires above the track? Now we have a LEGO Technic Mobile Crane doing this job!
The Class 90 Did pull services on the West Coast Mainline with Virgin and earlier Intercity. I bet you can find some pictures of an Intercity/Virgin 90 at Crewe
When will the next Lockdown Locos be?
When Will feels able to do another.
I don't mind seeing historically inaccurate coaches. I do those sorts of consists all the time in Train Simulator.
For example, I recently drove the one-off Great Western 4-6-2 (named 'The Great Bear') with British Rail Mk2 coaches.
I know Lockdown Locos and Mailbox Monday is a lot of editing but you may recall you bought "The Shakespeare" set and I was wondering if you were gonna do the first review of 2020
Sorry I’m late watching this video.
I picked up that intercity 90 second hand for £22 last year
Ah yes the hornby class 90 was good in its time but ever since i got the bachmann class 90 its got me to go to DCC after its got a servo motor pantograph and i have fallen in love with the 90 you should take a look at it sometime but get the specific decoder for it wince any others may damage the servo pantograph on it
Just started back modelling as mostly my track is Hornby 00 gauge my points are insulfrog as for my birthday I was bought some gaugemaster PM1 point motors with a polarity switch can I use them with there points and what is the best way to wire them to a switch
Hiya... Have ya got a Deltic?
Have you ever wanted to get any HO American steam engines or are you okay with your US diesels?
What happened to the one used in the class 91 project?
Hello I seem to be first on this amazing Chanel
Hey I was wandering were the videos are I have a video suggestion
You should react to your old modle review videos
Sound is great, video is great on a phone, but not so good cast onto the tv compared to other videos you have done recently.
There Aren't Any More Class 90s That Much Now
The 90s To Norwich Are Replaced By Bombardier Aventras
On Freightliner There Sort Of Rare To Find
Hey will I have a problem and I don't know how to fix it. I put my 3 favorite models on my TV table an I stubbed my toe on the desk the TV fell over I caught it but it damaged my class 37 ews livery an my A4 mallard it smashed the front window on the class 37 and squished the non grip wheel on the mallard at the back it's an easy fix but I don't know if I should use super glue on it or not

Meow?
If you do end up filming all of your electric locomotives, then instead of making a new turntable; All you need to do is cross off electric on the turntable. If the needle lands on electric, then you just need to spin it again.
Whit a class 08
its weird he hasnt uploaded for 2o21
I have a 25 year old 225
It’s been a year since your latest video. Are we getting anymore or are you done?
He's announced on Twitter he will post on the APT Soon!!!
