Lockdown Locos - Episode 4

- Something new to hopefully keep us entertained during the coronavirus lockdown! In each episode I literally spin the wheel (made by me out of some spare card) and I have to choose either a steam, diesel, electric or multiple unit train to have a quick look at! Let me know what you think, please feel free to make some suggestions and I hope you find it quirky!

Everything you said about the 153 is basically me with the 165/166 with the 150 being the 376
That bit of skirting board must be a world heritage sight by now
This is what the world could end up being, a 153 with a nuclear flask. In Germany/Austria they have MU's with freight wagons. That was a sight never to be seen again in the train world. The best quote of today was "They might come home glowing" that was mildly amusing :D

This looks pretty unusual, it looks like a passenger coach or subway train that's hauling whatever that thing is. I've never seen anything like this before.
the correct term for a single self propelled coach is a railcar although DMU is often used for convenience.
A mad combination there lol, very entertaining nevertheless. Interesting thoughts on the transportation of nuclear waste. Just imagine hoards of glowing people. Now theres the basis for a Dr Who story. All good fun

Most Dennis trucks, fire engines, rubbish lorries, etc and most Alexander Dennis buses are fitted with Cummins engines.

Great video. TFW, WMT, Northern have still got some 153s. Not sure about GWR or EMR. GA have got none because they have been replaced by their 755/3/4s

AGAIN! another absolutely fabulous video, really enjoyable. The hornby 153s came out in 2009 or 2010 i think so your estimate was slightly off but that doesnt matter ;)
If it’s a self propelled single unit that carries passengers, then I think it counts as a trolley.

There are prototypical examples of this with older flask wagons. It did happen!
I would call it a Diesel Railcar. It's not a DMU, as this needs two or more units coupled together. One unit on it's own is a railcar.

Here’s another idea for ur spin the wheel, I’d u ever get a steam option u should have another for what railway like LMS, GWR, LNER exe, and also another for a wheel configuration like 0-4-0 4-6-0 2-4-2 exe.

fab, love it, the 153s where a chopped 155/156 tho :) not a chopped 150, the end with the tiny window almost no cab space is the end that used to be connected to what would know be another 153, i think 153s can do 75 mph, is both bogies powered as the n gauge ones have driven wheels on both bogies, and are the hornby 153s as awkward as the dapol 153s in n as they clipe and then glue the bodys down, no chaning the chip anytime soon then

Hi Will! I have an East Midlands 153 and the motor has just stopped working? The lights still power on however the lights on the motor end will flicker if the motor bogie is turned at any point? Any help? :c
153s are converted 155s.

Great video will I have one in ex central trains green with East Midlands on the side I also intend to put interior lights in it and maybe the lighting strip that has the beeping door sound that train tech do
