I spoke to an officer recently about these letters I was getting, the police won't get involved as it's classed as a civil matter not a criminal matter.. However I think anybody that shows fight, they back off. Because they know they'll have a hard time, and will probably end up costing them more.
Simply return it after writing in big black pen across the face of the invoice.... "NO CONTRACT", If you appeal you're entering into a contract. Also send them an invoice offering to give the drivers name for a fee of no more than £10 with a fee of £25 for each time you have to respond to them.

@flip inheck, I'm not deluded at all. The DVLA operates over the entire United Kingdom in ensuring VED compliance. This has included NI since 2014. A vehicle can be clamped on private land if no SORN is in effect and it can even be removed and destroyed.
I parked in a free parking zone on a bank holiday displaying my wifes blue badge on the dashboard as I went to collect her in her wheelchair from the door of a nearby store. When I came back some 4 minutes later we had been issued a parking charge notice. The only sign regarding parking restrictions was a notice approximately 8" x 12" 15ft up a pole & as such virtually unreadable. I followed the guidance of recent reports on Watchdog & Which and as it was not a fine we ignored it. all went quiet for just over 4 years then we started to get letters from DCBL (not the same company as the one on the TV show, just using the same letters for intimidation) & not the company who issued the notice. They sent a so called court order demanding £330. It was a mass produced photocopy from a non existent Court. My wife has today found a ccj marked against her on her credit report even though we've had no summons, date for hearing, appeal date etc. 1) Photos taken of the car 'parked' were taken from about 50ft away and so you couldn't see the blue badge in them. 2) my wife was not the driver I was 3) signage unreadable due to size & height up pole. Only part I could just read said 3 hours free parking. It's a car park we've parked in regularly for the last 5 years without issues. 4) my wife's condition has drastically deteriorated over the last 4 years and she is no longer Compus Mentis so cannot make any logical decisions or sign/agree to any legal proceedings. So where do we stand now? .. I've notified Equifax requesting a correction be made to her report but that's only just gone in.

@John Buffalo I am 97 mine was at a business park over 100 miles away. If its real it will be from your local county court in your area. If you search the name and address you will its not real. I dont know any Count , Magistrate or Crown court in any bussiness centre or park in the UK.

They should use common sense WHO STAYS AT A HOTEL FOR 1 DAY AND 0 NIGHTS! Anyway we got our evidence together and sent it to the hotel direct, the hotel paid the charge for us and I guess they asked for reimbursement from parking eye?

Send an email , stating on reading your email and any correspondence with incur charges of £250 and if not paid within 7 days cost will increase to £500 ,, and if not paid it is deemed that all contracts are cancelled by BOTH parties ,
he is giving u the wrong info the best thing to do is ignor the letter do not call them or respond to them in any way take it from me im a exspert in tickets iv never payed any tickets from the age of 17 to 56 i have had over 7000 tickets never been to court and never payed 1 peny
People forget, there are probably thousands of private companies. Its pot luck. It depends on the company who are enforcing it. You may get lucky and get a company who won't bother to chase it, or you may not. Simple.
my parking charge notice was issued on 26/01/2022 but they have stated the incident happened 15/11/2021 so date of issue was more than 28 days after the event, do i have to pay? it was not issued under the protection of freedom act 2012
These are not fines, they are "charges" based on a presumed contract. I have ignored one and nothing happened. You do not have to respond to them at all. They have to take you to court. So do nothing until you get a writ from a real county court. Then go to court and argue your case. If you lose - pay up or it will affect your credit rating. The parking company will use the small claims procedure so the fees are very limited even if you lose. The main problem is they will make a claim in a court hundreds of miles from where you live.
The lady never received a fine : only courts can impose fines . What she received was a speculative invoice . Since it was erroneous , and she had no contract with the private parking firm , the correct thing to do is REJECT it . Do NOT enter into any appeals process because that confers authority on them to act as adjudicators - you are handing them the right to decide . You must start on a strong footing by telling them outright that you reject their invoice and will not be paying anything . You can set out a scale of charges for further correspondence if you wish
Biggest problem is if you are in a lease vehicle. The lease company will automatically pay the charge on your behalf - add a handling fee on top (usually about £15 to £25) and then invoice you for the money. If it is a company vehicle, your employer will stop the money out of your salary. At no point can you do very much about it. Even if you are completely innocent, once the parking company has your money and once the lease company has the handling fee, you are pretty much stuffed. Good luck getting any of it back - even if you can prove you didn't commit the alleged parking breach.
It's not just private car parks hitting the blue badge people with fines. Cornwall council doesn't give free parking in their disabled car park bays .you have to have the free road tax and pay to be part of their scheme . Catches the tourists out alot.
Can you get back Dagenham and Barking Council stole my car that was registered disabled they stole around 6am in morning and then demanded that I pay over £4,000 plus £400 for them to take my car so in total £4,400 I need my car back I'm disabled I took it from my disabled parking bay with a blue badge on display James
If not paid they process your details to a court and you end up with CCJ for 5 years. I've just got ticket whilst struggling to take dad to hospital had to park in staff area. These animals are vultures they should be banned. I'm simply not going to pay I've got my mortgage now so couldn't give a damn about a CCJ

How about the company Smart Parking? I always pay when I go the gym and when I have gone over my time I have added more money - they still sent me two fines, I appealed one but they said no I have to pay! What shall I do? Please help

I am taxi driver in sheffield had ticket industrial places pick their employees had pick for so many the same spots the company called pretty little things sheepcote lane sheffield . I was only stop 17 second to pick customer where company given an indication for their employees every taxi drivers pick up drops customer
I explained very nicely that the machine was broken so I could not obtain a ticket But they still fined me Now some rotten bugger has burned out the machine I dunno

They are not fines. Only a court can issue a fine, after a hearing and upon conviction. They are nothing more than invoices.

for nearly 14 years I have never paid for a private parking fine. I get them every few months and nothing has happened.
