Same pinch, i too got laid off recently from my corporate job( Lead Software Developer ). Interesting thing is that, I gave 14 years starting March 2010 and still company took no second thought.

I was also laid off, after working my ass of for a horrible company and a horrible manager who took advantage of my passion and had me working sometimes till 10PM at times.
love your attitude. Grace is a gift:) Patience is hard but also a gift we can give ourselves. Its good to discover those things we can do on our own that completely engage us.....for me its getting into nature or beach sometimes writing

You’ll pull through and find something better! I really enjoy background acting so if you can find a local production it’s so worth it just to try out. I’ve really been throwing myself into content creation but also taking time to spend with friends research what I’m passionate about, and taking time to volunteer
I was laid off on Monday scrolling through Indeed and it sucks because you have to start all over again right before the holidays.

Aww that sucks! I was laid off and totally know how you feel. Are you on unemployment? That should help you out a little in the meantime, and you should be eligible because you were laid off!
Yes! I applied the day after I was laid off. During covid I waited way too long to apply so this time I was on top of it

I was terminated due to a process failure back in the end of may. I’m still crushed since it was my dream job.
How did you get over the mental/emotional trauma? Any tips?
Do you want a career or do you want a job? Both are perfectly fine, but that's a good question to ask yourself before taking any type of new job. Wishing you the best!
Still trying to figure that out myself 😅 the end goal is self employment just trying to get to a spot financially where that is feasible

I guess it's a good opportunity for you to try something you enjoy. It will also give someone else the opportunity to have the position you didn't value. It's never a good idea to talk poorly about being in corporate America and also post where you work. It doesn't look very good for that company. Good luck on your journey!
