@@rusticcloud3325 Nepal was, since he late 1990s, locked in a brutal civil war between the government and maoist communist rebels. In 2001, the royal family was massacred, leading to the unpopular brother of the dead king, Gyanendra (who was not at the palace when the massacre happened) becoming king. In 2004, as the elected government was completely incapable of fighting the Maoists, King Gyanendra dissolved parliament and took direct control of the government in order to defeat the Maoists. This however triggered massive protests across the country, which forced him to restore parliament in 2006. The Maoists and the other political parties then got together and decided to establish a republic, which they did in 2008. Since then, the Maoists have dominated the new government

Here the song btw. I would give translation of 'Bachnu cha yedi vane' as well but I just realized the song doesn't mention king and queen, and focuses more on nationalism, its speciality being that it is written by King Gyanendra.

@@neutralboi1984 yes unfortunately it is our fault that we removed the hindu kingdom from Nepal. Even if Nepalese hate us we are Hindus so obviously we will feel pride over the fact Nepal is a Hindu country whether it is pro India or not. It would still be a matter of pride, even if it was a Greater Nepal and was anti-India to the core. It makes us feel as if at the very least Nepal is not like India and that Nepalis love their religion unlike us Indians.

It’s an extremely difficult question. From most of the evidence it seem like it was indeed Dipendra, but the inconsistency of the government reporting in the aftermath of the massacre was suspicious. Dipendra also did not seem like a man who would do something like this, and the CCP obviously had something to gain from destabilising Nepal and helping the Maoists. Equally, India had something to gain too considering the royal family’s history of resisting Indian influence. It’s a very difficult question, one I’m not really sure I know the answer to.
