Oh my goodness! That's amazing. Please make more recipes using the slow cooker if you can. As one of the people that requested this I'm well happy. I'm definitely going to try this one by the weekend.
I haven't made crock pot curry goat and oxtails in a min. When I used to go to dance I would burn the curry on the stovetop first to "brown/color" the meat, drain the grease and then put everything in the crockpot and soak some red kidney peas. When I got home the house would have that nice aroma. I would have Sunday dinner cook before the kids wake. Man those were the days lol. Now my old ass dont party no more and use the pressure cooker cuz I cant take the long standing in the kitchen. #memories lol
I tried this and it was amazing. I seasoned it over night and browned off the meat first before adding it to the slow cooker. Low for 8 hours.. Added sweet potato, Carrots for the last 2 hours
Lovely! I found this channel searching for slow cooking curry chicken. Didn't feel like being in the kitchen today. But anyway that is how I found your channel. From searching other videos. This is the best I've came upon. Thank you!
I am making this today with chicken. My husband is Jamaican and loves curry so I hope he likes it. I will try it one day with goat. We love goat. Love your videos. They really help me as I am American and don't cook the way my husband is used to.
Respect to the man! I tried this as I wanted to get more use out of my Slow Cooker and boy was that the right decision...Everybody loved it the pot was cleaned right out in one go Chris, no second helpings for anybody they hammered straightaway along with the Rice and Peas! L@@ks like I will definitely be making it again man, keep up the good work Chris, love the show!
Clamps are only for transporting the crockpot...not for use when cooking. Love this recipee. Tried it last week. I did brown my goat on the stove first before putting it in the crockpot. I will try seasoning it in the pot next time to see if there is any difference. Thanks so much, I'm all about my crockpot!
I always do mine in the crock pot. Better than the stove or ven a pressure cooker. I always brown mine on the stove b4 adding to my crock. This method is great for lamb or mutton, too. Tfs
I might be the only one who did not know what a pimento berry was but just in case ....I looked it up and it is also called Allspice. I just happen to have some and I learned how to make your green sauce a few weeks back from the delicious Chicken stew with ginger recipe so I am ready to rock and roll. Goat is not so easy to get where I live in Ontario so I will use some lamb. Thanks for your great recipes that spice up my life!
This looks so good I can smell it! Currently trying this out after following the Green Seasoning tutorial also, 1 hour down in the slow cooker 4 left to go!
according to Dr. Weston A Price the fat of grass fed animals is very good for you and there are loads of things you can do with that tallow. But I want to thank you for this recipe. I'm putting it together this morning for dinner tonight. looks amazing.
I made something similar to this a couple of years ago but using oxtail. I found that curry powder and scotch bonet loses their flavour when slow cooking from the start, so since then I always saute first the vegetables with the curry powder for a few minutes to "wake up" the flavours, then I add everything else and use the slow cooker function (Instant Pot).
Hi Chris, thanks for sharing this amazing looking curried slow cooker goat recipe! I was recently gifted an Instant Pot, and would love to make some Caribbean dishes with it. Maybe you can do a Caribbean Instant Pot series as well? Thanks Brother, always a joy watching you cook up our yummy Caribbean delights in the kitchen:)
Hi Chris, great recipe. Thanks :-) I wanted to ask, with the potato would it not get too soft after 5 hours of slow boiling? I was always taught to add potato towards the end? Please let me know, as your potatoes still held their shape and did not mash down. Thanks again :-)
Big chunks of potato take as long as meat to cook in a slow cooker. You would usually boil potatoes but in a slow cooker the temperature never gets that high so potato takes a long time.
You could scoop out a bit of juice and mix a teaspoon of corn flour in it then add the mixture back in the pot and stir...leave it on whilst it thickens with lid off.
Awesome curry...but you are not to clamp the pot read the manual those are for when you storing the pot so you dont break it but its danderous to clamp while cooking
Beautiful recipe! My only critique would be you skimming that amazing nutritional fat off of the top….. Always eat the FAT, and avoid the CARBS! You’ll thank me later 🎉
@@caribbeanpot Slow cooked I prefer, unless you a different way in doing them. And keep up the good work! From a guy who had zero cooking skills, your tutorials really helped me. All your recipes are great! Especially date night with the tomato wine mussels recipe (All types of madness happened that night) 😍 Anyways I'll be tuning in as always...... slow cooker.. you can go with less time but risk tough meat.. depends too on how old the goat is when butchered and how large the pieces are. this one was good after 4.5 hrs

How many quarts was your slow cooker?
Is there a way to get the end result gravy thicker?
You could scoop out a bit of juice and mix a teaspoon of corn flour in it then add the mixture back in the pot and stir...leave it on whilst it thickens with lid off.
I assure you the gravy was very think a few minutes after this cooled.
