I've been trying to grow a beard for a little over 6 months now and all my hair grows under my jaw and not on my cheeks or chin and it just comes out like an Amish beard. any tips?

Spot on, my beard came through at 20. It's not 100% still but looks thicker and is so much better, I'm not touching it until I'm 23. I'm 21, hopefully to have a better beard than what I have now!
@@Harrell423 I'm 21 now and my beard is pretty weak still, but I just let it grow and it gets a little thicker with time. Slowly, but it's getting there. Hopefully within a few years I'll have a proper beard but idk, all we can do is be happy with what we get.

The let it grow part is sooooo accuuuurate...just let it grow guys. I let mine grow for a whole year and only trim it from time to time, and by doing so some part of my face where there was no facial hair could grow some patchy hair first and now I see enormous progress. So let it grow.

There is always Minoxidil which can help some. My genetics meant patchy, short and ugly beard at age 30. Hardly even get stubble in 2 weeks of growth. I used a european brand named Regaine (similar to Rogaine), and I've also used Foligain, which is the same deal. It's 5% Minoxidil and can help a lot of beardless people. It has pretty decent odds of helping but it's like any aesthetic product, you have to keep using it. Still not expensive considering what some use on grooming/make up/what ever. Compare it to my extremely low maintenance before, it's more than worth it. It's actually meant to stop balding in men, but works for facial hair as well. I apply it to my face and the results are just kind of unbelievable. You can look up other peoples results, this isn't some sort of scam.

Every single one has helped me immensely - I have a chronically dry face and scalp so I end up using a ton of products to sort it out, and now that my beard's coming in proper full (but still quite wiry and coarse, just how it is for me) after a nice shower where it's still vaguely damp but quite soft I massage the oil in then hit it with some reuzel balm and it's aces for me. The neck-line trick is gold though, exactly the trick my barber used the last time I was in - I've always tried to go for the neckline but never quite got it right until now haha. Much appreciated man!

Straight razors the barber in saloon use, that might work. I shaved with expensive razors but saw no progress but seen visible results after straight razors. Because you push every part on the skin whike you shave because not to cut or bleeding so the dead follicles might gets shaved and new hair grows in. In my opinion it works.
When you use the L techhique for shaping it at the beginning, do you trim the neck in a squared-off shape or do you just use it as a reference point for height and curve it back?
I have typical Oriental facial hair (slow growth). I tried it a couple of times but always ended up saving it after about a month; I will differently give it 3 months a try and see how it turns out.

It depends I ended up shaving my beard completely off after growing it for two years & the growth that took me two years came back in two months. One of my friends told me that I probably had split ends that stunted the growth. So I would say grow it while maintaining it in the sense of getting rid of split ends.

Number one thing is to just let it grow, the patches are just hair that grows slower. Give it time, and then trim to match the slow growing hair, it will be a longer process getting the length you want, but you will get there

I have typical Oriental facial hair (slow growth). I tried it a couple of times but always ended up saving it after about a month; I will differently give it 3 months a try and see how it turns out.

Shaving does have an effect, I see the chinstrap line on my jawline even when I don't shave.
Hey Scuba, I have started the beard growing journey even though my genetics are horrible and couldn't grow a beard naturally if I tried lol. I have been using minoxidil for about a week now and I'm starting to grow a little hair. I have heard Biotin works wonders for beard growth. So do you think Minoxidil and Biotin would be a good combo? Like I said, I have very very little facial hair and have wanted a beard for a good while. I'm 26 but look like an 18 yr old, gotta change that lol. Any beard advice would be appreciated.
I've only tried biotin, never tried minoxidil. I know there are alot of side affects to minoxidil

Okay, so I shave under my jaw because I have a bald spot just under my chin but the hair keeps growing on the neck. So basically just under my chin there's a circle amidst the hair that is bald. WHAT DO I DOOOOOO
Well there is this drug called monoxidil, that you can apply to just certain areas of the skin, but the side effects list is pretty long, so try at your own risk

I’m 16 and I had baby hair on my face but I shaved it. I regret doing that but luckily my facial hair are growing again. DONT SHAVE BE PATIENT AND WORKOUT.
It depends I ended up shaving my beard completely off after growing it for two years & the growth that took me two years came back in two months. One of my friends told me that I probably had split ends that stunted the growth. So I would say grow it while maintaining it in the sense of getting rid of split ends.

I've been growing my beard for about a month now, usually when I let my beard grow I am patchy, and then decide to shave it off. What can I do to help the patchiness?
Number one thing is to just let it grow, the patches are just hair that grows slower. Give it time, and then trim to match the slow growing hair, it will be a longer process getting the length you want, but you will get there

A beard oil & balm I’ve been using is by Beard Struggle...smells great & makes your beard super soft. For washing, I use Shea Moisture Black Jamaican Castor Oil shampoo & conditioner. All natural product & work great if you have a kinky/ curly beard

Shave works for me. I had small beard and i have not shaving it in 3 Months. After 3 months i shaved with creme and i grew it in 3 months again. And after 3 months i got a very nice beard. I am 14 years old.
Cool. 67 years old.. just started.. giving it 6 months. Had a patchy one back in my early forties but never gave it 6 months. 67 relieves you of per pressure, family pressure etc. my dog won’t give a fuck. Cool vid, bro.
