what do you mean by "not really the pickups?" this is an electric guitar sound that is picked up by guitar pickups, and I found them sounding pretty good, what's wrong about that?@@Cpmnk
@@6oundStudio I think he means that the tone is more influenced by the amp/cab set-up than the pickup types. I am not sure how true this is, but I've heard recently that pickups do not really change the tone (disregarding passive v. active, or split-coil) and that some pickups out there are selling gimmicks. Either way, this dude's tone is killer and so is the band :)

I saw Monuments live recently and they put on a great show. (That was my first intro to this group.) You could tell the whole band was having the time of their lives on stage. They opened for Jinjer, and now I'm digging into their music 🤘

One of the few players that no matter how much I watch him play, I’m in awe that this is in fact a human playing. Such beautiful soundscapes augmented by that robotic “unreal” mainly downpicked style he employs.

1:30ish is by far my fav moment on the album only thing i dont like about the album is john isnt loud enough in the mix i love andy but hes definitely standing in the front volume wise if you arent using good speakers or headphones he is all you can hear
I really love my Schwcter Omen 6, for this I replaced the pickups with a "Seymour Duncan Dimebucker Set" the compression - hight and low frequencies blow my neighbors away!

Love that guitar, wish they would have given it the keith merrow headstock. Schecter's flagship headstock just doesn't fit modern metal guitars and superstrats.
Technically, that's a merrow MkII headstock 😅 but giving it an MKIII headstock wouldn't make it a Browne custom. The bodyshape is also based on their Sun Valley extreme model.

I actually got to meet JB this year and asked him about the switch to Schecter, he said he played a few and they were better than his Mayones and that's why he switched😂 I still hope he does a red burst like his duvall though. I love the look of that guitar.

But I'm a Schecter diehard. First guitar when I was 15, was an Omen-6 and that thing still plays better than some higher end brand guitars. I have 8 schecters total, and soon I'll have a USA Merrow
@@encompassthyeclipse7278 I've had a few Mayones and plenty of Schecters. A Korean Schecter is going to have some amount of variance in quality from guitar to guitar, but typically they're alright. If you get a new Mayones from the factory it'll be dead perfect. It's like a Honda Civic vs a high end sports car.

They're are only so many words dude lol, and unless the band is like 100% extremely derivative of Led Zeppelin, I take literally zero issue and I think it's silly to consider almost any word off limits for a band, song, or album name. For instance I have probably 4 or 5 songs called hypnotize on my phone that have nothing to do with each other, and I don't see why anyone would take issue with their "unoriginal" titles. I do think I'd side with you if someone blatantly named a song something JUST to garner more attention from a super popular song with the same name. That's lame and dumb and gross. In this case tho, 'Opiate' has a great deal to do with the subject of the song, ie being addicted to and unable to quit someone. It's also just a great, catchy title that fits the song perfectly.
