This light would be a blessing for me in the workplace.I work for a company that houses at risk/ adjudicated youth. I work as a maintenance tech. A lot of emergency calls happen after hours. Whether it be a power outage to a broken window. To have this light handy would make my job so much easier working in the dark.
Congrats yours is the winning comment! Please reach out to hello@nitecorelights.com with this screenshot and we’ll walk you through the rest of the way 👍
And you might need protection
Get the P20ix it has self defense strobe mode and get this for your secondary light… ALWAYS carry two lights on duty in case one stops working or you drop it or break it etc
Sadly it's not waterproof 😢
@eye1dry138 🤦🏼♂️
Website says weatherproof?
@@AeonsOfBlight only ip54 . That means not fully dustproof and it can only take water spray
@@AeonsOfBlightBasically you can drop this on puddle of water and it will still work. Or light rain.
But you don't submerge this in water
If it's not waterproof it's overpriced and useless. What u all forget is this costs 10$ to make
For context ipad costs 1000 plus, and they cost 300$ to make in America
But overseas the cost to make an iPad goes down to less then 100
So ya buy this if it's good for ur military or law career sure it's ur life
But besides that th8s is overpriced toy
20 years ago, tactical rechargeable lights lasted a max of 1 hour.
I carried 3 lights to make sure I got through a shift.
100 lumens was considered good then too.
Lights have come a long way.
Indeed it has! I’m not sure if the requirements have changed as well for guys to need so much brightness.
Light has come a long way.
love how you dont hype up fake functions and tell us straight up what this flashlight can and cant do. definitely will be buying one in the future
Nice improvements in an already great light. I use EDC27 as my EDC. As a consultant, I travel frequently and I always take this light with me for being easy to use and for the tactical reasons/self defense. Since I already own the EDC27, the improvements are not enough to justify an upgrade, but make sense to buy the new version if you don't have any of them yet. The only improvement I am not a fan of is the single action button with a programmable action. I prefer the double action, this way I always have both options available, and don't have to remember what I programmed. Thanks for the great content!
Is it rechargeable?
I have no doubt these are good flashlights, in my opinion Nitecore builds quality gear.
That's nice and all but there's too many other good lights compared to this one for me to even consider this one
hell yeah I would use this. I'm a teacher and to see the darkness that the school board tries to put on my students!
You could use the protection too
A flashlight is just about the only defensives tool you can carry in Australia without cause for suspicion. Would be even better with a striking bezel and thumb ring. 😂
This looks like a good choice for a backup and sort of always available light for duty purposes. Nice package with a lot of power when needed.
What duty you must be call of duty so can buy flashlight you like they serve me same like you to see in dark!
I need one of these..lol.. i work at walmart on 3rd shift cuz im raising my daughter alone and i have a flashlight we sell thats shaped like that and i use it for the dark places in and out of the store because the area its in isnt the greatest with alot of drug users and homeless people but back to the light the one i have kinda sucks. The main reason i got it was because i have a pouch on my belt i use to keep my box cutter, Leatherman and there is one spot that lights like this slide in perfect so i dont have to keep a light in my pocket or vest, all my tools are in one spot.. next year at tax time im upgrading my flashlight after seeing these
I am a ghostbuster. This new EDC25 is the best tool which I can use to shine on spirits, demons and vampires to scare them off. The turbo 3000 lumens can be a sudden surprise to burn the vampires into ashes! Am I able to win one too?
I got the edc27 and others, but I want to have his edcl25 as well.
Was waiting for your review. I just bought the 27 and compared it with my MT2A, I’m still amazed by this latter one. 90g only, throw even more (not a flowder though) but I just love this little flashlight. To the point I might not keep the 27 for now. The MT2A is not perfect (lack of ergonomic with only one switch, no strobe) but the value of Lumens per grams is unmatched for me
Been using the edc27 for sometime now. I keep it on me everyday as my go to personal protection in my clinic. This edc25 would be great backup or vice versa.
Been a fan of your reviews. Everything is well explained and very convincing.
I didn't know that there was a different type without screen... loo,s good to me, going to have to save up for one..thanks for your time and the video
Tested this EDC25@ the roadshow yesterday. I love these buttons and the beam as compared to EDC27. Nice to meet you MJ and your team thanks for the wonderful explanation of each individual light function.
Awesome! Thanks for dropping by!
Would be nice if we had runtime graphs for all nitecore lights
Best light for security and law enforcement. Would have bought this if I hadn't purchased the P18.
This will be good for my night hikes! Small and non bulky
EDC 27 is an indispensable tool for work. However even with the electronic lockout they need to fix the proximity sensor. Burned holes in 2 pairs of my 5.11 pants and it was bad. Charred shit. It’s a problem if you are sticking the flashlight on “lock” in a front pocket. Ordered a EDC 33 with the mechanical lockout to help.
I like the Olight ArkFlex more for EDC and work.
I saw a video on this channel and the content creator actually admitted to a mistake, owned up to it, and made it right. Been a fan ever since. I think it was the Acebeam M2 short. I thought that was really good, alot of folks have trouble with owning up to little mistakes. much love
selling the removal of the 2 stage mode button as an "upgrade" over the EDC27 is borderline ridiculous. Having both turbo and strobe instantly available is a big selling point of the EDC27, if only they added a mechanical slider lockout like they did on the EDC33.
This would be a perfect upgrade / replacement for my old TUP with port flap and display gone. Also finally going from micro USB to Type-C. Most significantly safety wise commuting late night. Hope I can get this blessing. Thank you for another awesome review!
I would love to try this new light out for my gun bag, or just EDC 🎉
why would you conceal carry a flash light as if it is a gun? my pen would work better in defending myself. That word choice is odd.
I would use this light as my edc when I have to go to the UK as the flat design will be easy to carry and where I am has very little surrounding lights at night so this will come in very handy.
I love that they fixed the Turbo button. Just wish they'd do something with the hugely protruding Power button. My EDC27 kept unlocking and turning on in my pocket. It happened so often I had to stop carrying it. The proximity sensor is a nice addition, but 500 lumens is still too much. Maybe it's enough to prevent getting my thighs set on fire when I'm driving, but it's still more than enough to attract looks from strangers at my lit up pocket (and it 100% will get hot over time - 500 lumens is not a sustainable output at this size, so it'll get as hot as temp control will alow). Just recess the button for god's sake.
Same reason I don't carry my 27. That button gets pushed by my belt or other stuff way too easily
Pocket realty is important for me as i wear office slacks everyday,so this flat design will be a blessing for me
Hey MJ, I just wanted you to know that I saw a facebook video that shows TM9K PRO still have the strobe mode! Was it real? Hope your review is coming soon!
That’s in the queue! Look out for that review soon
This light will be great to have when doing quick aircraft inspection at the apron area, slim and easy to carry by clipping to be trousers pocket, no need for holster. At home, I'll attach a lanyard and use it when walking the dog at nite. I'll even bring it overseas for vacations since it is easy to carry.
Cant believe they didnt change the lenght and the power 🤦🏻♂️
That’s for another model 👍
I really dig the flat form factor for this EDC flashlight, and packing a 3000 lumens in such a compact-sized tool, awesome!
Why no Steel bezel? Damn! You make it knife grip but no hardened bezel! Fire your Designer
That might show up in a later version, who knows 🤔
@@NitecoreSG had the Chance now …
Heaven help you if you want to use the lock/unlock mode: it doesn't work at all like the instructions show, or as is printed on the side of the light.
*Here's how it actually works...*
To half-lock:
1. Turn the light on by fully pressing the small power button down until it clicks. Let it go.
2. Half-press and hold the power button. *DON’T press all the way in until it clicks.*
3. Lock light flashes once. *Stop pressing!*
To fully-lock:
1. Turn the light on by fully pressing the small power button down until it clicks. Let it go.
2. Half-press and hold the power button. DON’T press all the way in until it clicks.
3. Lock light flashes once. *DON’T stop pressing!*
4. Lock light flashes second time. Now stop pressing.
To unlock:
1. Half-press power button quickly once, then half-press it again immediately and hold. *DON’T press all the way in until it clicks.*
2. While you're holding the button halfway down, the blue lights light up sequentially. *Hold until all four are lit.*
heating up like crazy
lol…. My light makers and knives makers …. Idea.
The "Tactical handling way he demonstrated” lol
Get it ? . This sort of flashlight with a knife!!!!!!!! Like microtech … and throw a laser too. Like the acebeam arkenfold .. why not .. I’ll buy it .
Yeah ..there is an Amazon $15 knife with a micro small led Xmas light on it. 😂
What's the big knife they're on top of?
bastinelli separateur - love this one
The adhesive to display screen on the EDC27 melted and the screen slid off. I really like the EDC 27 so I would like to fix this if I can. What adhesive should I use to put the screen back on?
Would be perfect to wear when I’m operating in plain clothes.🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
I have Nitecore EDC27. Every time i turn on turbo mode, all my teams wows and asks me what is that... can i see it. They all have military issue Streamlight, but i have the brightest light. I wish Nitecore make nice bumb helmet light with red, and IR light too for night vision
False advertising, easily proven. Overpriced gizmos, but these chinese manufarturers are spending money left and right, to convince you you "need" one of their overpriced toys.
knn.. 100 bucks for a torch light.. made in China for 10 bucks only...
Very good job of giving the consumer the info, thanks.
Hello, I would like to ask a question , if you go for travel any problem for transfer this edc25 with build in battery either checked in luggage or carry it on flight , anyone have experience with this 😊
Do they make them in this form factor that can withstand more than a 1 meter drop and being under deep water for 10 minutes? It seems that it would be perfect if it could handle worst case scenarios but still be this small/flat and one handed use. If you have to slide the light and it goes in a pool... Just saying...you know what I mean! haha
Mines broke after 8months customer service is in China. Whatafuking shit show.
Very cool, but I don’t need it. My EA41 and P10iX cover me quite well.
Why you must be some tactical commando Rambo to have light we other don't need good flashlight it's only for special forces stop talking bs
It’s very nice would love one in my fire tunic when you already have a lot of gear a compact design is perfect
It looks like this would deter attackers as long as they were unarmed, can't swing on something you can't see; the light should blind people trying to swing on you right?
Wish it was waterproof. Dropped my edc27 in a puddle and it hasn’t worked the same since
I think this is a great improvement over the EDC27 for two reasons, 1- the use of UHi leds for more efficiency and throw, and also a more neutral white over the SST40, and 2- the screenless design. I love screens on flashlights, but they are probably more useful in an EDC/enthusiast/civil flashlight rather than on a tactical one, where every extra piece that can break is a risk for the user. Great job on improving an already great product!
The 27 is better . I love my 27. I only wish batteries could be replaced.
I just carry that for self-defense honestly, not really work related by the tru EDC in the evenings
Great looking light! I would use this all the time in server closets and crawlspaces for running cables.
I would like to use it for my work and it would be nice and flexible for me to keep in my pocket because I work in the airport I hope that I can win this
I will buy one if next version had strike bezel or something shape include with this edc light
No moonlight mode? It's nice as a flashlight...bu no for me.
Actually without the LED screen it is a deal breaker that's the reason most people buy that light
This EDC 25 HAS THE BECON function??
What is the CRI of the UHI LED used in this one?
My EDC27 has the tail switch broken. I can't change the brightness level but the mode button still works. Is there anyway to fix this or should I go with the P20ix with NTC2i to have better protection for accidental operation? Many thanks!
Would say both have very different use cases, if you're looking for something more for tactical usage such as working in security or law enforcement, would recommend the latter but if you're just looking for an everyday carry that's easy to fit in your pocket, the EDC27 or perhaps a new EDC25 would still be a good option for you!
This is a fantastic light for my security checks during night shift and patrol. The best part is the light helps keep my carrier as slick as possible. I like the simple display that can be read quickly with colored indicators whereas the EDC27 relied on text that is very small. The EDC25 is a very interesting light.
And I agree with you on the built in battery. Seen so many comments gunning down the light cos it has built in battery.
exactly right, if built in is not suitable, just pick a non built in version. It's not the light's fault, it's just designed for a user that prefers built in.
9:38 Ya agree with the part on the built in battery. It all boils down to personal preference and need.
Though I prefer removable batteries, but built in batteries are totally acceptable for me when it comes to non-tubular form factors like the EDC25 and LR70.
I just want something robust and bright my kids can play with.
MT2A or LA10 is more suitable for something for kids to play with. Anything brighter they might damaged their eyes without any supervision.
Not water proof and bigger then Monstrum light but close to the wedge
More expensive than the original with less features. lol. I was interested, I am no longer. 109.00.. original one with the lcd display is 89.00
Wtf
it's cheaper than the EDC27, i think you're comparing in different currencies or different sources
Please I need assistance. I'm in-between the p10i and p10ix do to the slim profile. I'm an officer at a county jail. Would u recommend a flood or spot light? Please help 🙏
County jail, does your work take you mostly indoor or you have to search open grounds? Indoor only = flood. If you have to search open grounds, mixed beam is better
The EDC25 would be perfect for travel. I fly a lot and having something this thin would be amazing.
I would most definitely want this now that my EDC27 is with my ancestors...
Simpler battery indicator.
Longer runtime at 200 and 65 lumens.
Further throw.
The only thing I'm curious is the heat. If the new LEDs are really more efficient then I wouldn't have to worry about cooking my pinky and holding it tight.
I do work for a police department and would like a good light to use when on shift
didn't think of if use it in my work because I got light for walking back only.
but currently got EDC35 and Arkfeld pro, arkfeld pro kinda too flood I need use slightly higher light to see further, EDC35 no complain just a little not pleasant inside pocket lol. Would like try EDC25 if got fund. also never had tactical dual button setting from Nitecore so I wonder what's difference will make from EDC25 for quick activation.
i am mostly in VIP and PEP protection active, the edc25 would be great for my black working suit's small left pocket.
Personal carry? Is there some other type of carry share carry???
As a marine commissioning engineer, you're in the dark of the ship for months. All day you're mostly in enclosed spaces, checking, fixing, noting... Flashlight alaways must available with 6+ hours at at least 100-150 lm. Short bursts in large compartments needed to check operations.
This could be really interesting
I’m loving this light!
I'm a wildlife conservationist. I help save entire plant species from going extinct. This light will help with doing fieldwork in the Australian bush.
Is the lens glass or plastic?
It Rides so high, my belt would turn it on when I say down.
I had two of the original EDC27's. Both of them burnt a hole in my pocket and melted some plastic things. It also burning and melting the lens itself.
This is not to dig on the flashlight because the Wedge also burnt a hole in my pocket but also melting a hole straight through the lens itself.
At least the with EDC27. I could scrape the burnt plastic off.
If this has a glass lens. I'll definitely be interested. I really liked the original EDC27 but going through two of them and the Wedge, has definitely made me weary of plastic lenses.
I have edc27 as my edc flashlight & always in my pocket. Early this month the power button suddenly not very responsive for half press & also full press. I already send back to my authorised seller to claim the nitecore warranty. very love with edc27 display because i can know the run time remaining for each mode that i use, hope that nitecore just repair the power button & not replace with edc25.. 😢
i just curious is it fix able let say 5 years later going to change battery myself. include EDC33/35 how to disassamble and change it. i cant find it online and anybody do it.
We would not recommend it doing so and as it is quite a new product not sure if anyone out there has done so yet as well!
@@NitecoreSG sent me 1 let me disassamble it.. someone has to do it at least convincible to fix in the future. im very near malaysia only :p
It's kind of weird how much more professional your videos and website are compared to the USA Nitecore store. I'd buy from you if it wasn't 2x the price for me in the USA.
I wouldn’t be using this for work but it would still be useful for me. I live in a town with high crime and a high cost of living. As a result I don’t own a car and walk home from my job. I am often walking home when it’s dark. This light would be perfect for me. The ease of carry, the brightness and the controls would be very useful if heaven forbid something happened. I currently carry a cheaper torch but it’s compromised and not up to the task. I hope the giveaway is open overseas because I could really benefit 😅
This light would be an absolutely amazing asset to my edc kit, especially since I'm on the hunt for my very first edc light and because I live in South Africa where we have to deal with power cuts nationwide on a daily basis. These powercuts make daily tasks an absolute nightmare, and I would really appreciate being considered for the giveaway.
This Nitecore EDC25 would be a perfect light for targeted light painting for night shoots
anybody know the model of the big knife at the beginning?
Love my nitecore. Burned a hole in my lulus
I walk the dog mostly in the evening because that's when I have time... It would be perfect for long walks through the night full of mystery.
sadly i see smoke coming out of those flashlights in those shots. not for me.
Working in smrt I would love to get this torch since I can bring this anywhere especially when working around the dark tunnels
what is that dang sword in the background?!
Thin for the win... Thin EDC is essential as it lets you carry across a larger flat space so, an organiser in a suit side pocket. I am in IT and find this rather useful for cable risers, ceilings, etc. and extra useful for coming home after working late. The LED indicators are much better than any screens, this is a very good design indeed. If you carry advanced EDC in a suit and want to minimise bulk but can spread gear over the full width and depth of your pocket then this is ideal. I really like this.
So far the perfect EDC in my opinion, if I gets it I'll carry it around with me everyday. I work as a bodyguard so it'll be good to conceal so it won't look so obvious for ppl and it's good for self defense same time to alert be it ppl, signal ppl, alert and signal car, same time strobe for emergency
Hello Nitecore,
I'm worried when I see your lights smoking as in at 0:08 .
Thank you for the presentation,
Anthony
The Nitecore EDC25 is a versatile tool perfect for your work. Its compact size and powerful output make it ideal for illuminating dark workspaces or conducting inspections in low-light conditions.
It aids you in completing tasks efficiently and safely, emphasizing its practicality and usefulness in your line of work.
I currently carry the p23i for work, but the belt line holster can be bulky and is less ideal for more professional dress. I haven’t tried a slim profile light such as this, but I would like to. I like that it has lockout, low 15 lumen moonlight, and memory of last brightness.
I‘d use it daily for work!
I‘m a train conductor and in the morning it’s part of the routine to check the train from front to back and for that I need a good flashlight.
This light would be incredibly helpful working as a mental health worker during crisis outreaches at night. Due to the nature of our job, we are unable to carry weapons but often work in sketchy neighborhoods during the night.
Probably my next user FL due to minimalist form factor and function. Hope to win this one. Hehe
