Surely this is the easiest was to remove a tank protector from a motorcycle tank. A bit of heat, followed by mineral turpentine which disolves the glue, methylated spirits to remove anything the turps may have missed and then water. Stay tuned for the How To video on installing a new tank protector the proper way.

I was literally planning on removing my tank pad today and this video comes in my notifications tab, talk about timing. 😁
😂😂😂 well there you go! Good luck with it!
Scaaaarey isn't it
Big brother is always listening...
Hmm, yeah, tried white spirit, turps and then i just suddenly realised that I'd watched a video before that showed how affective WD-40, or what i used and that was GT85 and it seemed to work a hell of a lot better 😉
Try D-limonene aka orange oil (diluted) instead of turpentine. It smells nice (orange) and can get rid off most adhesives with ease even the notorious double sided foam tapes from dashboard, etc.
Thank you
No probs 👌
Thanks bro. Nice bike ‘!
Thanks man, yeah, love it 👌
Could use cooking oil, it usually dissolves sticker adhesives while not strong enough to affect the clear coat.
Could work...might try it :)
Hey that's a good idea! 👍
Ya I always use cooking oil to remove stickies
The commentary on this was hilarious
lol, glad someone noticed my weird sense of casual commentary humour. 😂
You spoke my heart language 😂
What side tank grip do you have. I have a K6 600. Did you get a sheet or was it pre cut? Great video
They looked identical to the ones you get on eBay. I’m going to say eBay 😂😂😂 They’re removed now because of that edge you can see. 👌 I’m going to try eBay ones again.
Does tank pads damage paint or not and the spirit is useful to make clean properly the tank pads after you would remove tank pads
If the edge comes up and dirt is trapped underneath, that can damage the paint. 👌
Thankyou
What do you use while removing glue from bike plz reply
It's in the decription under the video 👍
Trying to remove mine, notice a discoloration on paint, anyone have this issue? Don't know how long the pad been on it.
Does the bike live outdoors? Slight paint fade is normal and unavoidable. I would try to cut and polish it back maybe....
Cut and polish will not remove paint fade, being in the Detailing industry we see a lot of this, it's unfortunate. This is what happens if you don't protect your paint. UV ray's are harsh.
Speaking like commentary 👍😂
Trying different video styles 😂
Would wd40 be safe to use on the glue
A lot of comments here say use petrol, but I don't know...this works for me. :)
wd40 is safe and works
La colle avec du wd.40
*WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD?*
🤷🏼♀️
Stop yelling! 😂😂😂
@@VroomBroomZoom I want to download all the parts you use in this video! jajajaj...Just kidding. Thanks for the Video!
Is there no risk using heat on the fuel tank?!
The heat is very minimal and away from a closed fuel tank.
Like the sun 🌞 😂
WD40 would have taken off the glue residue with less risk.
LEss risk than the heat?
@@VroomBroomZoom Not to take the pad off, the glue that was left behind.
Agreed, WD would be my first choice. I'm no expert though.
I use petrol as it wont strip the lacquer
I think the turps/metho combo is pretty safe on the paint. 👌
Yes, I’ve heard of petrol 😊
@@VroomBroomZoom i just find it easier as its at hand 😂
dont use petrol,it can fade the paint.
@@ravinderrs2552 it can on older bikes but today's paint is mainly petrol resistant
Bro how to remove feviquick glue please tell me ?
Google says acetone. Try at your own risk
