@@ryanscott8217 if you have the money to spend then yeah it's ok, however it can litterally feel like you're just burning money. and dont buy cheap wrap you will hate your existence I promise haha but I've gotten much better and the skill I've picked up was worth it
I am always amused and appreciative of pros sharing the tips and tricks of the trade.
You've never raged until you get an hour into a one piece project only to tear the vinyl and have to start again. One piece tank wraps are the reason I drink.
Had that happen with a fender, twice...tried to minimalize seams but ended up screwing myself in the end 🤣
I just wrapped my own gas tank on my Yamaha and i lost sleep over it, and tore it off the next day lol. till not wrapped because im not sure how to do it. I dont want to wrap it and rip it off.....again.

I've seen so many videos with guys saying it's impossible to wrap the gas tank without inlay and here you are doing what others can't. You are the BOSS of wrappers!
It's really not that bad it you have good quality vinyl. I'm sure I've watched those same videos. There are really not a whole lot of good videos out there. I ran into a few issues my first time around but just had to slow down and think about it. So far, I've wasted no wrap.
Give a couple of days, it will pull back.
I wish all how to videos were this good. I Might give this a try, but I’m sure it’s not as easy as you make it look. Probably the type of this you get a pro to do, and save yourself money and frustration.

First of all let me say thanks. Because you taught me how to wrap, and now I do it to all my vehicles and motorcycles. I actually wrapped a 2015 S1000R and I will say that red piece that you held on during the final overview was the hardest part. The recess for the screw that holds it on to the tank was really hard and I'd love to see how you tackle that. Thanks again

I've just ordered a new bike and I'd been wanting to get it wrapped. I really want to do all the mods myself. So I am going to have a crack at wrapping it. Feeling confident but also nervous. Thank you! I needed this. I just got a vinyl plotter and am making my own custom wraps and decals and want my tank to match. My fairings are off but not having to take tank off too is much better.

Lol chrome tanks aren't fun at all. I did Hexis satin chrome on the white one. Luckily it had some nice body lines

Hey CK! I am doing my Honda Fireblade from 2005 in a week or so. I was planning on doing it with Satin Black and Carbon Fibre (Twill Weave) Black from 3M. (3M S12 and CFS12)
Or would you recommend going with Avery on the Satin Black? (First time wrapper here!)

Hopefully this video will help me. I just bought some wrap and kit and heat gun. Now I am trying to wrap a front ferring of a harley... its a lot bigger and a lot more difficult than a gas tank, needless to say this is super hard and so far I really SUCK at it

can a gas cap itself be wrapped? I have a 21'MT-07, and I want to try color match my rims. I tried looking on here, but it's wrapping gas tanks, not caps/cap assemblies? great job Christian, this will help me tremendously.

Currently trying to wrap my Aprilia tuono tank and and this is not easy I’m two hours in and only have the top done but the more you do it you get a niche for it

So you have to empty the tank maybe or it doesn't matter?

Thank you very much for sharing this! I want to wrap my 1990 K75 but I've never wrapped anything before. I am VERY good at detail work with my hands and have an eye for detail. I figure I'll start on simpler body panels first. But can anybody out there give me some reference on how long a patient guy that's never done this could expect to spend on a contoured gas tank? I mean, the K75 probably has somewhat equivalent amount of lines, curves, etc. to the S1000RR. Roughly. Anyways, should I expect to spend an hour? 30 minutes? All afternoon? Obviously we're all different too, just looking for an average.

You need model wrap can blend colors by applying heat melting away seams.

It depends on how hot it gets. Most likely it won't last for long but you never know.
Great tips! I am repairing fiberglass track fairings and this means using body filler. Do you think a smooth, sanded surface will be OK to wrap onto? Or will this be a big problem with trapped air?

This guy's good, says the tank is the hardest part, then basically stretches it over the tank with little to no heat, squeegee, nor air bubbles 🤣

How do you wrap something with tank grips, or do you put the grips over the wrap and just change with wrap?
