For everyone asking that question here’s the simplest answer they are cheap, and easy to fix, parts are easy to find if you know where to look and how to measure the size of the parts you need, it doesn’t require coolant, or transmission fluid just oil changes, it’s a Honda clone so apparently Honda is doing something right to have a Chinese Honda knockoff sale so great but tbh some of us just want to ride till the wheels fall and have fun don’t knock us for having the same passion as you but for goin the cheaper route if we are just beginning to ride or want a less complicated maintenance bike 💯 keep buying the bikes bro I love your content I have n will continue to buy these bikes!!

Plenty for bombing trails with friends, and the taotao was less overall than building the CR conversion. $75 cr80, $400 in spokes and rims, $50 in metal, already had the XR motor with 120 kit but that would be an easy $500, new tires and tubes, plastics, etc. It's fun to build, but it's more fun to ride.

The thing is a “real” bikes cost several times what one of these Chinese bikes cost. Even after working on them, they also insure these bikes and will send you replacement or whole new bikes.
That also being said, these are great starter bikes. You could also buy a couple of these and have one for your friends to ride on when you go, or just being able to actually afford it.
You can get name brand bikes for the price of these, however those tend to be older, like 15+ years older. Occasionally you can find a unicorn and you never know the condition it’s in.
Also these bikes give you a good amount of experience with the workings of the bike just putting it together let alone working on it.

Fair points made here.If you re not inclined to learn how to work on a used dirt bike from a big name then this is a good alternative.Fair warning though(i speak from personal experience),new chinese bikes are by no means guaranteed to work flawlessly out of the box since quality control is not great. You also might have many problems in getting the store,or the supplier to actually replace/ fix the damn thing if it brakes.i ve a little story of me and a friend of mine. My friend did some construction work for someone. When it was said and done that person couldn t pay so he offered my friend a new chinese bike, papers and all. Some 450 ''crossfire''(they go by many names) A pretty good honda clone it was in terms of performance. We got home, started it and I took it for a spin. I ve race dirt bikes in the past and still do. I have decent experience with them and right now i own 2 hondas.... Back to our chinese clone. Things were going well until i got a sudden engine failiure.I had done, probably, about 30 mins of riding. It later turned out to be an engine failiure, compression issue . We called the shop and told them about the problem since the warranty was still active. they told us that we first need to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer told us its not on them and told us that we needed to do a compression test first and contact the shop again...After a few more tries and after having identified the issue( we needed tools, compression tester and some labor) the shop finally agreed to send my friend a new bike. it took about a month to get to him. After that it worked well for a few months until both brakes failed and since he wouldn t want to go through the process again he put some aftermarket ones. Bike still runs but...

I understand you 100% I got my first bike like 7 months ago, a brand new 19' kx100 and I love it and I do all the mechanic work myself and I'm only 15, its not that hard to keep it fresh but you have to be confident and you will be alright. Now that you have past experience with those nice chinese bikes I'm pretty sure you will be able to take care of it just fine all you have to do is be confident and also in my opinion 2 strokes are wayyy easier to work on then 4 strokes.

Exactly. I’m looking at getting my bike license but when I do pass I’ll be massively inexperienced so I don’t want too go and buy a Japanese bike for 5/6000 dollars because what if I crash or drop the bike? If I’ve paid thousands I’d be devastated, but if it’s a cheap Chinese rip off bike for less than a 🤦🏻‍♂️1000 dollars I won’t be so bothered. There’s a bike shop by me where I can buy brand new Chinese pit bike, road legal, license plate, taxed everything on the road for a fraction it would cost me on a Honda, Suzuki or Yamaha etc. plus if I decide biking isn’t for me,nits not like I’ve gone and blown 7/8000 dollars for something I didn’t like. Probably 1/1500 dollars, hardly breaks the bank. Plus he said because their so simple you can repair and fix most things yourself just with a little Time and patience and of course watching tutorial videos on RUclips. Like this one😂

That’s not the point. With those bikes you never really know the condition of the internals without taking it apart. It’s more affordable to buy and fix Chinese bikes. Even if they don’t last long they costed a fraction of what you’d pay to buy and maintain a “real bike”

You will have way more fun on the quality bike. Bought a 96 rm250 to race motocross 2 years ago, totally worth it, spent $1000 and have about $1.5k in it, with technician background. Got 2nd overall in C class a couple weeks ago. Just keep saving your money for a quality bike. China bikes are pitbikes, fun for messing around not to get serious with. Also working on a quality bike is better, because they make service manuals. The china engine on this bike in the video makes around 9hp with 125cc, a Quality 2 stroke will make around 34hp with 125cc.

I’m still on my 1st dirt bike. I’ve never needed or wanted another one. It’s Japanese. And that’s probably the reason why.
There are only two countries that build motocross bikes that last and win: Japan & Austria.
There reason why their bikes are so durable and awesome. It’s because those manufacturers live for the sport.
If you want a bike that lasts and really works, here are your choices: Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and KTM-Husqvarna.
    IMHO.

Because your skill doesn’t exceed the bikes manufactured engineering, strength, structural integrity, and adjustment ability or lack thereof of. You hardly can get an A or B class racer/rider to throw a leg over one because they know the possibility’s in store have a high rated mechanism of injury.
Example: suspension like pogo sticks both in front and back mounted to a frame known to bend and swing arm known to snap off it wouldn’t matter if you were doing 25 or 55 you have a good chance of getting hurt. Like my buddy Ryan who purchased one in 08 and broke his femur because the swing arm snapped at the axle mount.
My brother a mid pack C class racer blew out the shock with in the first 20 minutes of owning his ssr then bent the frame all in the same day.
I will say this though. Beside the throttle getting stuck because of dodgy slides in their carburetors the motors have held up to the test time and time again. You see when you can purchase another motor for less than $500 let alone sometimes $200 you don’t have a problem really reving the piss out of a Chinese motor. Regardless they still hold together while running them like a park ave Hooker on Valentine’s Day.
