I think adding the wood burning stove has been a huge boon for the van. Great idea Forestry.
Who doesn’t like watching a fire? There is something so relaxing and primal of just setting up and tending a fire. The relaxation, visual satisfaction, warmth of heat and even cooking option make an actual stove / fire the best bang for your buck in my opinion. As long as you aren’t an idiot that is because a fire can kill you in multiple ways before you even realise it’s happening.
Get a little tea cup dog🐶
You can hike with her in your pocket
I need a wood stove in my life.
Wake up, cook, hike: yes, don't change the format of your channel no matter what that critic says. Love your videos.
Hope you are doing fine. It's been 2 weeks without your videos. We all love your adventures and looking forward for More.
Take care and God bless you
Just 1 yr ago you mentioned that you wanted a dog and now you have a great outdoor dog Rocco ! He is exactly what you wanted in a dog that can hike high altitude and also fit in your jacket ! 👍
The dog situation should be carefully analyzed. It is a huge responsibility and will change your lifestyle tremendously. I know the viewers will love it, me included, but there are huge ramifications for having one as a traveler!
You should consider domesticating a squirrel, good company for long walks in the forest.
And that is mr.dramatic? 🤔 He needs a girl too tho
@william I'll bet you wear a mask while you're driving alone in your car
Blue healer! Smaller and they love being outside in nature!! ✌️🍻
In van room alone!
Thanks Forestry from Sedona!
I've been watching Foresty for over 2 years now and I must say - the video quality and production quality of this content has taken a giant leap since this started. It amazes me in 2022 how potentially one guy in his van is able to do all this and I would rather watch this than a lot of tv shows produced by multibillion dollar corporations. Foresty is awesome!
his films and postproduction/editing sure takes a lot of work. no wonder he is so tired.
I agree make videos whenever YOU want not when u think we want. We all watch u for u, nothing more
You know it’s a banging meatball sub when you have to step outside the van to eat it!
Appreciate the content FF thanks for sharing these adventures!
Dude, sorry burt2481, nothing in this or any of my comments is disrespectful.
In fact the comment was encouraging and thankful for his efforts.
I don’t get people like you, making something out of nothing.

Your one of my favorite wierdos to watch ur adventures miss seeing you sharing best wishes
Blue heelers are smart, smaller, fast, and stick close to their owners. I've had 3 and love the breed!! Timmy C Arizona
Yea, he def needs a midsized endurance type breed or mix w the amount of ground he covers eh lol
I immediately thought of Dean Potter's blue heeler Whisper when he was talking about hiking with a dog on his back. Would be a great fit!
Being a double coated dog, they would also be excellent in Foresty's climate. Beautiful, smart dogs. Cheers from Oz
Kelpies are great too, have some dingo ancestry, are larger and tougher than heelers.
Another wonderful video! So beautiful! Thank you
Greetings from Denmark Simon. Love your channel and your adventures and lifestyle. Life is tough. Be strong. You have a lot of People in the World who cares for you 💪🏻🇩🇰🇩🇰
Ely is a funky old town. The Hotel Nevada is cool, great chicken fried steak.
That would be a fun collaboration: Foresty Forest & Wonderhussy
I hope your doing well, not going to lie.. We MISS you, but your health come first, I believe your back up in Canada, we don't need adventures or big promoting videos, we just care to to know you are okay... much love to you Simon , from a grandma, mom, aunt who care....hugs
The desert scene blanketed in snow is something most rarely see. Pretty cool.
Another wonderful adventure to places most of us will never see! Your camera work is top notch. Thanks!
Nice job finding these little nuggets. I've lived in Utah my entire life and every year I still find new and fantastic places to see. Keep up the good work!!!!!
Thanks again bro have a blessed weekend o canada 🇨🇦 rise up canada 🇨🇦
The opening sequence is pure artwork. Your deep thought of getting a dog shows your mindfulness. They are the best companions. I would gladly watch it for you if you were to leave on an extended trip. Thanks for another video canvas.
Yes, FF needs to direct a movie, he's got talent with the camera!
You are so correct with everything you mentioned.'.'. His videos are on a whole different Level.
He is an unusual talent on RUclips, or any medium. And from what I understand, he is a 1 man team. A true artist.
I agree, get the dog. You will find plenty of folks to help care for it, if need be. Your content is phenomenal! 😘
Pets are a real hassle, especially living in a van - don't do it as you will regret it!
Hello from OZ cant wait to see you with a dog 👏🏻
I hope all is well Foresty. I don't know why I worry about you, is something wrong with me? Lol
Always a good one.
We miss you forest, don’t listen to what that person said about you making the same videos. We love all your videos.
Thank you for this hike up to Notch Peak. I have past it dozens of times on the highway and didn't there was a trail up the back. I live in Utah and I am so glad I have now been to the top....Utah has beautiful mountains
We hope you are ok. Been checking every day. Your channel is one of a kind and we appreciate you very much.
Rescue Dog 🐶. Have a nice break. Hope you’re safe and healthy. Your videos are great 👍👍. Looking forward to your next Grand Day Out
Thanks for taking the time to document your adventure. Much appreciated.
Very nice, big brother!
I dig the van shots you get when off roading. Good stuff.
That beginning drone footage of Notch Peak was phenomenal. Keep on, keeping on...
The reason why people follow your channel is that you have your own unique style. That is the key point, your own style. If your channel isn't different from others, what's the point to subscribe your channel anyway? If some people don't like your video, they can jump over to other channel whenever they like. They might have already left after leaving a nasty comment. Just ignore them.
I was sitting here watching the cooking portion and said to myself "I sure hope Foresty takes that sub outside to eat". Great video Foresty.
Another very good video. Something to thing when you’re deciding on getting a dog. I’ve had dogs for years and they are great, however, they do last a lifetime… their lifetime. And they change your life. Many places don’t allow dogs, lodging could be much harder to find, if you need to find a place for awhile… truck repair, etc. Dogs have expenses that many don’t think of, medical check ups, they have accidents that cause hospitalization, and other expenses. However, they are also great, because they are never in a bad mood, always love your cooking and are great just to have around. Just some things to think about. One last thing, if you want a certain breed, read up on them. Adopted or rescued dog are always great! Skillet
I'm an avid hiker I do big hikes like you 14 years with a German Shepherd only seven of those years she could do I've missed more and seen less loving my dog
Huskies are moody. Thats from experience lol
@@DonJetblack00 huskies are the most gorgeous dogs on the planet but they are completely insane! 🤣🤣🤣🙄. The weirdest dogs out there
@@oldyeller6518 Dalmations and Greyhounds are pretty weird dogs as well.
You make a lot of good points , Owning a Dog may seem like a huge commitment to some , but the benefits of an Intelligent , Athletic , Loving , Loyal dog far out weight the negative aspects you mentioned. Mind you I am biased , having a dog most of my life , I don't know any different. Choosing the right dog is important. I do a lot of climbing and Hiking/backpacking in the Alberta and BC Rockies ..Even canoeing. My dog loves hanging out for a long paddle.
German ShortHaired Pointers are my dog of choice , Unbelievable Athleticism , Stamina , intelligence and just all around great dog.
Thats just me. Another breed that possesses the same traits are Border Collies , plus easier to train.
In the end I know Foresty is a very smart guy and whatever breed or mutt or rescue dog he chooses , will be great for him. If you go back to some of Foresty's early videos , I recall him being with his family and there was a bunch of dogs hanging out , I believe they were Bernese Mountain Dogs. Not sure.
Pretty cool cabin
I turn to this channel once again to try and forget about the horrors of the world. Once again, I thank you for sharing your life with us.
Always make Us hungry with those cooks!., Great Video as always!
Happy to see this video pop up! A welcome distraction from current events.
Yup. Escaping reality is nice right about now. ..or past few years. lol
Same
You know you need a companion like a dog when you start a sentence with “I’ve been discussing with myself…” Forest, it’s time.
Great scenery. I love watching you cook.
Great job on summit #144, beautiful scenery as always. Love the show.
This has been up for a week but life has been trying ,and I come here and Pease comes over me to sit down and watch a Foresty forest video... your content is always so
Soothing.... Thank you
That outro shot (13:43) of you with your feet up, body shadowed in the darkness and the glow of the fire is amazing. You should get it printed as an actual print for when you settle down as an old man to remember these days. If I could be teleported to that position right now I’d jump at the chance.
Such beautiful scenic places and got to see two old cabins with such a history to each. Give us another minute to look around in them. Thanks Forest.
This is my favorite cooking channel
Always, always look forward to your videos. Keep on keeping on.
Wow! Dude, in the middle of all hell breaking loose with mad, angry, crazy people everywhere and no end to human suffering, your videos bring me peace. Keep up the good work.
As my daughter used to say "ur a good cooker"
YAY Foresty! A visit to my old home town, Ely, Nevada. County seat of White Pine County which is larger than the state of Massachusetts. You gotta go out south of Ely and visit the charcoal ovens and go over to cave lake. Go out North through McGill and go to the creeks - Bird Creek, Timber Creek & Berry Creek. The Success Loop is probably still closed due to snow and muddy roads but if/when you come back through, that's a beautiful drive too. Lots of good stuff to see.
@CATRIENS🦋 stop it with your damn spam!!!
Wow awesome wee cabin build with a great view at that interesting story and cant say i'd blame the guy for doing what he did . quite the epic view from the top of Notch peak spectacular views , love how the area has random cabins around and the cows run free pretty cool thanks for bring us along
I try to feature my dog on my camping and exploring videos. He loves being out, he has hiking shoes from Ruffwear and they work great. I think it would enhance your life but change it. Probably can’t leave them in the van when it’s super hot out
Hey Forest, I love your Bishop, CA decoration! A buddy and I were out there last year, what a great little town with magnificent surroundings as well. I'm glad you appreciate it just the same!
72 views and 47 likes in one minute after posting. Foresty you are the man.
Hope you are OK FF
Thanks for the video! Appreciate every single one of these and all the work you put into sharing!
the dog deal: Definitely doable! There was a guy, Dean Potter, who had a small dog, I think it was a Blue Healer, but on the small size. He was a famous climber who got into wingsuit flying off of cliffs. He took his dog in a backpack on more than a few of those flights. As I remember he had the dog fitted with goggles because you're flying at about 100 miles per hour. He and a friend jumped off of El Cap in Yosemite at dusk one evening a few years ago--fortunately the dog was not with him--and they both crashed into the cliff wall on the way down.
But the dog in a pack is certainly doable and would be a way for you to do scrambles without having to leave the dog behind. A dog will change your life, but in a good way.
Love how much care you put into cooking, put in a lot more love then some people with an actual kitchen
Love your videos! A dog would be great for you. They bring so much companionship 🐶 ❤️
Foresty!!!Forest!!! It's been two weeks my friend...I hope you are alright as I'm sure we all do. If I didn't live on the other side of the country I'd probably be looking for ya or asking locals if they've seen your van. Please let us know you're good soon.
Cellphone rehab hehehe that is a good one
Dear Forest: for this years Christmas season could you please upload a multi hour video of your fire place burning and you occasionally changing logs. I think a forestry forest Christmas burning log video would be great. k, thnx bye
Time to Dance again. Rally!
Just be yourself that's why we view your vlog. Haters can go view other vlogs and let us continue to love your videos.
Love your videos. Keep up the good work!
All the best from Melbourne, Australia. Everyone needs a little time away, so appreciative of your content and was a massive positive in hope of travels post lock down. Your health is the no.1! See you soon, when your ready.
I always like your videos and the way you edit them. Always consistent with cooking and hiking, and every now and then a video of you working on your van. Keep up the good work man. This video is great 👍
I hope Foresty is doing okay down in the desert haven’t hear a word from him
I miss your Foodi! 😀
Foresty's gone from wiping down his meat to having a meatball sauna. Who wouldn't love this channel?
I think a Border Collie would be a great dog for you. Crazy smart, eager to please and lots of fun. A Border could keep up with you easily except on ice covered summits.
Well this is embarrassing
Simon does more and has accomplished more and does more eventful living in a space that's the size of my hallway bathroom than I will ever hope to
Keep up the great work
That wood burning stove makes your home look so cozy. Enjoy.
Being from Delta in Millard County, Utah Notch Peak is a constant landmark visible from many miles. Thanks for showing us around the beautiful Utah West Desert. Sadly we are gripped in an extreme drought goin on 20 years. That light powder snow has very little moisture content. Agriculture is dying as are wildlife and flora/fauna. The climate is definitely changing for the worse - whatever the cause. Love your channel!
Getting A DOG , I'M WEIGHING THAT OUT MYSELF , GET A PIECE OF PAPER WRIGHT ON ONE SIDE THE BENIFITS AND THE OTHER SIDE DISADVANTAGES, SEE WHICH ONE HAS THE LONGEST LINES .
When I was a kid I had a teacup size poodle that fit in the front of my bib overalls. He enjoyed bike rides and nobody noticed him when I went to the store, lol. He was calm and very friendly
I think a small dog is the best option, too! 👍
What was his name?

If you decide to bring a dog into your life.....
Remember the additional cost of daily food.
And annual, and unscheduled, veterinarian appointments $$$. And paperwork when you cross international borders. And toys. And treats. And harness. And his/her saddle pack.
Might even need booties in winter/summer! HAHAHA!
Find a hearty durable active energetic breed companion. Look around, maybe a rescue, or shelter dog will be a good fit?
Definitely a breed/disposition that won't chew up the place when you are away, in the store etc!!!
Thanks for showing us another spectacular view of this country.
Where are you Forrest, hope all is well, from here in West Australia 🇦🇺🌏🖖🤟🙏
Even though its not Canada/BC.. still the scenery was very beautiful. Love hearing what you have to say 😊 So glad you did go ahead and get Rocko.. She's perfect! I know you wouldnt have it any other way now. 🤗🐾🌱💕 Safe Adventures Foresty & Rocko
Reading all these comments has really made me smile so you must be realising that your on the right path with content by making SO MANY people happy.
Can't wait for the pupdate.
Stay safe 💫💜💫
The desert scene blanketed in snow is something most rarely see)))))))
If you get a dog your viewership will double. People love videos with dogs!
I’ve watched the this van build videos up until this one. I really enjoy your content and to be honest I was a bit saddened when I caught up. I watched 4-5 a night for the last couple weeks. I’m gonna start at the beginning now. Thank you for doing what you do forest.
I've been following you for more than two years now, I've watched every video of yours and I'm thankful to you for sharing all the facets of your life. Working and living in a concrete jungle your videos have always given me a vicarious retreat. Keep up the good work ( and drone shots and great cooking). Love from India.
He commented 2 days ago. Not feeling well so hes in Canada resting. Hope you feel better soon. Rest up all you need :)
Thank you
FF channel is like a box of chocolates🍫, you never know when you're gonna get another episode
The first 24 seconds remind me of Slim Potatohead videos ❤
Love Utah! My home town♡ glad you're enjoying our state.
oh man, i would think super long and hard about a pet.. Remember that pet has to come first, not hikes or fun or comfort etc..
Nice to see another video pop up, I’m glad you finally got back into wood stove territory, take care and safe travels🚐
Every single video is awesome! 😎
@Foresty WHERE ARE YOU? Getting very worried about you!!!!
I’m going through withdrawal here so I’m binge watching his older videos 😊
As if it matters....my vote is get the dog. You've mentioned it quite a few times, I get the feeling you really want one and it will add a new dimension to your adventures, you'll figure out any hurdles it poses. Also, dang that meatball sub looked amazing! Thanks for sharing and safe travels
If he gets a Jack Russell Terrier he'll be set. but he needs to get one from puppy. They are highly trainable, have tons of energy, and would suit FF's lifestyle perfectly.
Get a human.
Hey man, suggestion for a dog breed: Mini Aussie, super smart, amazingly capable, and tiny (for van life and scrambling). Keep doing you, love every video!
Dude everything you cook always looks so damn good🤣
Has any of his Patreon subscribers who are also here heard from him? It's been quite awhile since we've heard from him.
He replied to someone in the comments 3 days ago. Said he hadn’t been feeling well, was back in Canada, and resting up. Sure hope he’s getting better.
@@user-gq7bi1lq9u Appreciate that
Foresty knows just how to make my day, posting a video right before lunch was perfect!
Humm, what breed of dog would be best for Foresty?
I vote for a Shetland sheepdog (also called a Sheltie). They are the smallest of the herding dogs (a carryable 10kg) suited for the rigors of hiking and double coated for cold weather. Herding dogs are for working... they are owner loyal and easier to train. Females have a shorter mane and are much easier to wash, dry, and groom.
Been a while..hoping you’re ok
Dog would be cool. I have a border collie that travels in my Van & backpacks with me. He’s I 50% of my RUclips videos. His name is Dexter & extremely smart & hassle free.
