Please don’t change your format. This is exactly why I watch.
Same here
Absolutely....Foresty is the real deal :)
it's a great mix
I learn about new places to visit.
Agreed
Great hike! That hike from Snowflake is no joke, right? Loved hearing your perspective on everything. Next time you’re out this way, let’s find some hike to check out together!
Can't believe I'm seeing a possible collab of my favorite two youtubers happen in front of my eyes. Forest, get in touch with Brent ASAP while you're in the area and please get us some Ghost Town Living x Foresty Forest content! We'd love it.
Never ever did I think this would be happening. Feels like I'm dreaming. It's amazing how YT can bring us all together as one.
Omgosh! I just saw where Foresty saw Brent's signature....sounds like he is aware of him already! So cool!
YES!! you two would make a wonderful video together. My favorites.
I hope it happens. I think Brent might be one of the few youtubers who really could match Foresty in terms of hiking fitness and should be an interesting crossover.
This was essentially Foresty’s yelp ratings for Death Valley miner cabins. Starting from his highest graded, with lovely cabinets, 2nd with a functional wood stove, 3rd which left a lot to be desired to the last place which was too touristy. Thanks FF, great content as always.
Loved watching a Canada putting up the good old “US of A” flag!! Nice foresty 🇺🇸
Nice one Forest, exactly the format what we all love and need.....Van life, cooking and hiking adventures! keep'em coming buddy, all the best from the UK✊
Thank you!
Yep 👍, also a UK fan 🏴! Spot on 😎👍, also following your adventures on Strava 😎☀️👍
Happily watching your adventures from Ontario. Your channel is so Inspiring and pure.
@@forestyforest Another UK fan here!
Another UK Fan here. Love your videos, keep doing what you do!
Anyone else hit “like” before watching 😂 I always do because I know it’s going to be worth watching. Thanks again for another interesting video 😊
When Foresty finally settles down, he should open a wood stove shop and start wood stove youtube channel.
Nothing but wood stove lovin, all day and all night.
@@forestyforest and beer. Home brew store with a wood stove....wood stove store with beer? could go either way
Nicely Done Foresty , visiting those cabins gets a person thinking , only if the walls can talk. All the stories and adventures talked about for so many years. I love the content.
Imagine if we could go back in time and watch.
I am wondering how they got all of that stuff up there to those places. Not just the old mining equipment, but also the more modern stuff, like coolers, cooking gear, canned foodstuffs, etc. I can't see packing that stuff in on foot.
The next person who hikes up to Beveridge and signs the log book under Brent and Foresty is pretty lucky. Great video!
Through both Brent and Foresty’s videos, I thought the name of the town was “Beverage.” Oops.
@@oxymom2002 me too haha
@@oxymom2002 I still think it’s called Beverage.
Challenge accepted! haha. Note book entry of trail maintenance guy spelled it 'Bev. Ridge', around minute 13:00 when flipping through notebook. 30 years of entries in that notebook, amazing.
I wanna thank you for standing the Flag up in the corner when you headed out and not just threw it on the ground as you found it. You are a fine man my respect!
My exact thoughts. Sad that anyone would lay it on the floor. Thank you for showing respect!👍❤️🇺🇸💙
this is probaby a dumb question but why wouldn't you put the flag on the ground?
@@Shasha-jo5iv it’s about Respect. People died and will die for the ideas and way of life it represent. The flag should never touch the ground. It’s never dumb to learn something always ask questions 💪
Wanted to say same haha
Mad respect to Foresty for doing our flag (not even his) right! I appreciate that so much!!
When I look at pre rocko videos it feels like something’s missing. I know what dogs add to our lives and I’m sure you’re so glad for the choice you made to get her
Was about to post the exact same- cheers!
Hey Forest, you are an inspiration to an old guy in his 60’s to get out and explore our awesome landscape. Don’t change a thing, you are very entertaining.
Last time I went through there, east to west on that famous flat two lane highway, the thermometer at the store said 124 F.
I had to stop in the middle of the stretch for a coyote that just stood there on the center line of the road glaring at me. He only moved when I tossed half a hamburger out on the dirt shoulder. Kill me or feed me he seemed to say. The toll must be paid.
After making the strenuous 20 (ft) hike from the gas pumps to the store, I purchased two 6 packs of extremely tasty Death Valley branded pale ales, a couple of cow skill tee shirts...and headed north to Mammoth / Yosemite. It was a terrifying adventure.
The colors of the rock looking down into the plain are some of the most stunning anywhere on earth.
(Just to add, the first time, in 1979, in my long bed C-10 with a camper shell, some mushrooms and a Doors cassette...was somehow a less terrifying adventure.)
Robert, I had the same experience with a Coyote on Antelope Island State Park in the Salt Lake. Seems a learned strategy by coyotes throughout the Great Basin!
Nothing says "holiday" like sleeping in a kitchen! Great hike. Love the rock cabin. Cool to sign that book right after Brent! Still snowing in Alberta! 👍😎🇨🇦🔥
So beautifully documented. Hard to imagine how hard life was for the prospectors of the gold rush.
I really don’t get how anyone could have a problem with his videos. Foresty is such a good dude and easily right up there with my fav RUclipsrs. Him and Steve are just real dudes showing you their lives. I can appreciate a guy being true to himself. Never stop Foresty!!
With all the variety in the world on YT, if you don't enjoy watching something then move along and find what you're after. It's pretty easy right.
Mostly jealousy, they are just so fed up with their miserable existence and can't bare to see good guys like foresty having a grand old time and making a living off this too!
Who is Steve plz? I'm interested in more content like this
@for the love of God thanks
Yep, Steve is the other one I watch too...Great, relaxing value ..🇳🇿🇳🇿
I was just gonna recommend you arrange a visit to Brent over in Cerro Gordo when I read who had pointed you toward Beveridge! Good video as usual. Love seeing these old mining environments.
Yes I going to post and say Foresty forest should go and see Cerro Gordo.
Am I the only one who can't hear Death Valley without immediately expecting - The Undeeertakeeeeer!
Love this video mate, you look like yer enjoying yerself man. Been watching you for a couple of years now, definitely one my top YTers. All the best fae Scotland.
braver man than I. I would be creeped out staying in that second cabin. critters and ghosts would keep me awake all night! But the nearly 7000 feet of elevation gain is very impressive! You are a climbing machine.
👻 Ghosts? 😩I'm outta here😬
he is a climbing machine. and you never even see him breathing hard. i would need a can of oxygen at the elevations he can get to. he must have large lungs and well defined quadriceps.
Sleeping in a "screened-in porch" was pretty popular back in the day...especially somewhere where it gets HOT!
Hi Forest. I spent 168 days out at Ft Irwin CA, it's in the heart of the death Valley. Just before the first Gulf war. It can go from 120° to - 10° definitely a different type of place.
I'm glad there are people who understand the cultural value in these places.
Ft Irwin is in the Mojave Desert. It is a few hundred miles away from Death Valley although it gets high to. Not as hot as Death Valley.
It’s actually south of Death Valley...
These Adventures in Isolated Areas are Very Enjoyable and Interesting to Watch. Big Thank You for Taking Us Subs along for the Journey. Stay SAFE ☘️💪😎🇨🇦💪🚙🍀👍👍⬆️
Watching from Morro Bay, California 👀
Same here, watching from Southwest Ontario Canada 😄
Agree!
Watching from East Texas❤️
Another beautiful, soul calming video. To that person who hated on FF's videos and format, they need to go take a hike and never return to this channel. Keep you poison away.
There is a quote that reminds me of Forest:
"I'm a simple man, trying to make my way in the universe."
Keep marching, i will keep watching.
I really enjoy seeing the old cabins. Do more if you can. Thanks Forrest
Beer o'clock just got 1000x better and I can't wait.
I have made a point to like your videos. i normally only like videos to remember what music i like, so see it as a privilege haha well done nomad!
Putting the Flag up and sitting out front! Is So Cool!
So proud of You Foresty. Makin the rest of us look lazy!
Best van guy on RUclips.
So strange to see mention of another channel that I follow on this one. Given the how closely related the topics are I guess it's not surprising but I always think of Ghost Town Living as this thing happening on the other side of the continent while Foresty just a fellow Canadian living in a van, never thought they'd ever visit the same place.
Great video. I've never seen this side of death valley
Wood stove addict..gotta have a hit..luv it..luv everything you do FF..😉
Your videos are never boring.
Very interesting DV trip. Certainly helps this armchair hiker to feel the scree underfoot:). Hopefully the person who sign the register after Foresty and Brent would take a photo and upload on SM. It’s what I call a bragging right LOL
I'm sure wood stove "addiction" comes from deep in our dna. How many countless hours did our ancestors sit in front of fires, mesmerized by its life sustaining dance!
This channel is under the radar.
Methinks Foresty Forest is an Alien.
I really like your channel and I particularly enjoy these latest videos from the desert. The feeling of solitude and self-reliance is gripping and the photography is perfect! Keep up the great work, and I appreciate the effort you put into the presentations.
I always wish these videos were longer
Liked your choice of music for this one...fit the mood.
I REALLY hope this video includes a SLOW COOK and A HIKE!!!!!
BRING EM ON!!!!
50/50 😂😂😂😂
But as always, amazing video.
Just awesome! Thanks foresty!
This episode is so 'Circle of Life' in a man vs nature, man vs himself perspective. To actually go to these miner cabins you thought about during that crazy long arduous bike ride years ago. This must make you reminisce on a rare level very few people experience. // Those log books on top of mountains and in cabins where you sign in and leave a message, you should leave a Foresty sticker. Peace, man.
Loved the starry night sky!
OMG never did I think I would occupy the same valley at the same time as Foresty Forest. But it’s true. I’m camped in Saline right now and have been for a short while. I imagine Forest is no longer in the valley now - and I missed him this time - but if he is, he’s sitting out a fierce wind storm, just like me. I hope to run into you yet, Forest. This one was very close!
Thats cool, how are you getting internet there? I found one spot of cell service near the Boxcar Cabin. Wind is blasting in Owens Valley too. Have a good one 👍
@@forestyforest there is an AT&T tower in DV that skips over to Saline in a few spots - plus I have commercial-grade equip : Parsec K9 4x4 Mimo antenna hooked to Pepwave Max Transit CAT 18 router. My friend Fox was camp;in over near where you parked to go hiking in a pick up with a shell and bike on top. Maybe you ran into him? In any case, what fun. Hopefully I’ll get a second chance to meet you when i head north in the late spring.
Keep the videos coming mate! Love seeing the hike/cook videos. We live in the UK so lovely to see the scenery 👍
Yay! He's back. Love your vids man!
I’m an incredibly envious of this life style my friend. Living vicariously through you at the moment. Thank you for the adventure
Also, do you have anywhere I can check out more info on your van build? She’s a beauty
I grew up in Las Vegas & visited Death Valley many times. I never knew those cabins existed. Only the tourist spots down on the flats. Thanks for showing these spots.
Great hike foresty…….it’s been a few years since I was able to go up a mountain trail……mountain trails and crutches don’t mix too good so now I hike through you bud ……keep doing what you do bruh 😎
Forestry the hiker/explorer. This is good content. Keep it coming.
That cabin is so cool and it's great that people can still use it
Also respect to those enjoyed the stay and made it decently livable for others.
The weekend is driving me bananas.
I need a Foresty Forest wood stove fix.
ruclips.net/video/XeK6pCwLTUI/видео.html would you live in a hollow tree?
Always does my heart good to see unsupervised stuff that isn't vandalized. Have you been to the Black Rock Desert? I'd suggest putting that on your agenda.
Love this series you're doing...California has a lot of old west history "suspended in time". I live below the San Gabriel mtns in one of the foothill towns. Lots of old cabins, trails, mtn lions and bears...
Between WonderHussy's regular videos in her backyard, Dustin Porter passing thru a few weeks ago and now your great hikes I'm really getting my fix of Death Valley! Next best thing to being able to hike there myself again. :)
Foresty Forest! Filling the void that Discovery Channel left when they became a Reality TV channel! Awesome content! You're showing me more of my home state than I have experienced my entire life! Explore away intrepid adventurer!
So true!
Very nice video as always. Relaxing and true, makes me calm down. No shiny stuff, no bloatware. Keep your pace and enjoy life!
A cabin in the middle of nowhere is my dream home. With trees. Sighhhhhhhhhh. Thanks Simon, another great adventure!
Forest over here with his magic Mary Poppins backpack lol
Congrats on 300k subs ForestyForest. 🌲🌲🌲
Thank you!
Loved watching another great adventure from the comfort of my home in England. Thank you foresty for taking us with you. As always, I can't wait for the next video. Stay safe and be happy bud 👊
I'd love to help fix up those locations. Yet, my own house, not so much. Go figure. Nice journey, Foresty!
Such beautiful vistas. Love the music!
Your channel means a lot to me . Please keep this going? I love your life. :)
You are in Wonderhussy's backyard. Can't decide if your style of video is more enjoyable than hers. I think I like them both!
Shes definitely the top Death Valley explorer, thats for sure.
One of many things I notice from watching some of your videos is a mountain from afar looks solid then when you get there and climb it it just looks like a pile of busted up rocks.
Thank you for taking me on your adventures. I look forward to seeing every one of your videos.
Banger of an episode, loving the wild western scenery! Brings me back to your bicycle Touring through the Death Valley videos, loving this USA Series!!
This is incredible content and why I love this channel, don't pay attention to the critics, in fact don't even respond to them they got no views, when you respond you give them attention
Maaaaan, I was supposed to be in Death Valley this past weekend but my job refused to allow me to take extra days off. Would have been EPIC to run into you in the backcountry. Almost makes me want to quit my job now! Great video. It almost makes up for the heartless bastards refusing my vacation day. Thank you for this video
I watched Brent hike up there months ago. It's not too far from the ghost town he lives in. Funny to randomly come across this now and the last entry is him.
Yes Foresty, you are the man. You're so welcome, and I'll see you in the next one! Stunning scenery.
I'm so glad I have you to take me on these journeys. I get to go places I will never get to see. Thanks. Have a great day.
Forest You Sir were born to do Exactly This!! I LOVE Your Content!! It means more to me than you can imagine.... Since I am Disabled & will never see these BEAUTIFUL Places!! You Bring me Such Joy!! 🌻 God Bless & Good Journey
Forest....FYI...Get Some Grapefruit Seed Extract & use it in your washing dishes spray bottle. Plus SO Many Other uses (like mold) And All Natural to boot....Take Care & Cruise On!! 🌻
Ok,that rock cabin was to die for!!! Cool does not begin to describe this video. Thank you so much for this.
Watching you is like a therapy for me
Thanks for being such a great guest in the US and flying our flag!
🇺🇸 love it here!
Very cool. One of the cabins I lived in was about that size of the first cabin. Respecting those spaces is awesome
Death Valley is about the BEST! I love it there, and glad you made this excellent vid about your experience!
I drive a Chevy Express 2500 van. Couple of years old. I have another one I bought brand new 2002. I love seeing your van go through all these places
Brilliant video as always Foresty, that hike looked brutal! The scenery was amazing, and your choice of music..perfect.
That was super cool. The terrain reminded me of good-old western movies. Only a bunch of cowboys were missing from this scene. 🤠
Great to see and visit places like that... Thanks... We still miss the Intro song! :)
I love these old cabins! Thanks for going.
Cool cabins! Totally different terrain than around here (Alberta).
As always, thank's for sharing! :)
Look forward to each new video, man. Strong work! Particularly love the night time lapses in this one!
Thank you!
@@forestyforest Brent has left a comment!!!!!!!
Hubby got me addicted to watching you and hunkerin' down Steve ❤❤❤ Awesome content, thank you for sharing your amazing life with us
Keep going Foresty!!!!
This was awesome. So interesting to see the different levels of respect of the cabins when people have to work harder to get to them.
You should spend an overnight with your Crockpot.
I miss the slow cooking in a van down by the river.
Nothing wrong with dreaming eh!
Death Valley is so damn beautiful. It's amazing.
Spent Jan 1-10 1972 in the Saline Valley. Perfect weather in the day very cold at night and there was a sandstorm. Lovely place then.
Love these forgotten historical places. Awesome!
Another great video Forestry Forest.
Very interesting to see the old cabins and machinery.
Looking forward to seeing your next adventure.
@10:48 Foresty staring into the luminous flame is a mood.
How cool is that ?! Two of my favorite tubers signed that cabin logbook back to back. Awesome.
Are you considering going to see Brent at the ghost town ! That would make a great video! Top job as ever and look foward to the next video
He is a busy guy, i tried getting ahold of him. Maybe eventually we will chat.
@@forestyforest Not sure what kind of service he has at Cerro Gordo but don't give up hope. Looks like you two have a lot of the same subscribers.
Great video!! You don’t need to change a thing. I love every part…the beautiful desert, the mountains, the old time cabins and mines, the hiking and the talk. Great stuff and excellent production!
👍👍👍👊😎
WOW WOW WOW!! Just WOW!!! How cool to see those sites!! I have to admit that I would like to SEE those cabins, but knowing how comfy our van is going to be I am very unlikely to sleep in any of them LOL! But I seriously admire your adventurous spirit!! Awesome dude!!! Love you!
