TIP: Next time spray some brake cleaner or electrical cleaner on the rear foam tires. That is how we get grip on asphalt oval racing 2WD NASCAR. Just spray a little bit to soak the tire a bit and then let it dry which won't take long. Once it's dried do your top speed pass. It will grip like crazy. I doubt you need to do it on the front tires. It's usually the rear end that washes out. Awesome F1 car, sick paint job, dude.
That works amazing. I just tried it on my B7 carpet racer on my street. It's almost too grippy now. I have under stear for the first time. I could never get it to grip on concrete. This is a game changer for me.. I will try the front tires to. Thanks for the tip. Super stoked!

Very cool car and build video...from what i watched...i think with that combo 3s is all you need for 60 plus mph...Yes it seems to need some adjustments...maybe a gyro or lower rates on your radio...but to be honest that is a nerve racking spot to do a speed run...beautiful car...are there any kits you know about that are similar to this car? GREAT job... P.S i have a buddy that finally decided to start a youtube channel...He posted his very first video covering his new Arrma truck yesterday...it would blow his mind if someone like you would leave comment ...i sent him a couple of your videos as an example of excellence..You go over the top in your work doing this...Anyway his youtube is "Awesome Rc" if you have a moment...Thanks for sharing 😊

I was in hyper alert mode. Very light and hella fragile. Pretty glad I didn't smash it to bits in the end 😅
a locked rear diff would help tremendously. A light 2wd car needs both rear tires to be spinning at the same exact speed, otherwise it'll spin out just like you saw. Also, if you could get the front suspension parts for it, that would also make a world of difference.

I really think you should take a look at the tamiya f103 front end, I think it contains your easy to get suspension.
I've been driving f103's and conversions of it for quite some time and the front end of your car looks really familiar to me.
Also, 3 racing has started as a kind of tamiya tuner/upgrader and I remember lots of 3 racing parts and kits for my f103.

Sweet car I am with you it looks too good and you can get parts you got to drive it let it retire now. I brought back my 1987 Clodbuster got it working again after lots of very old plastic kept breaking lol it sits on my shelf as the second real rc car I ever had as a kid and what brought me back into the hobby.
Very cool dude, I totally get it. I'm still looking for my first buggy...think it was a Lobo II, I'm worried that I finally get my hands on it and bust it up giving me PTSD I still haven't gotten over since I was a child 😅
@disciplinerc luckily I still have my original Frog and Clodbuster the whole time I was in the Army my parents kept them somewhere I honestly dont even remember when I got them back but they are my originals. Hope you find yours one day

Loved this! Just getting back to the hobby after a long hiatus, so I hope this question isn't too stupid.. I'm curious why you went from 2S to 4S. Why not try 3S where you might have had the control you needed for full throttle and maybe hit 60mph? Also, beautiful recovery of that paint job!
Not at all. 3s probably would have hit the sweet spot with control, but 4s in a 1/10 scale car is way more dramatic in RUclips land 😅🤘

Hey man, Now you got to build the Tamiya TC-01. If you like this F1 car, then you will love the TC-01. It is such a good car but will want to get the hex hardware kit.

You don't need a 4s pack. Get a 2s shorty and a 13.5 or 17.5 motor. Change the gearing. Raise the ride height. Add about 30 grams to the rear. Turn the punch all the way down on the speed control. 70 mph easily.
Agreed 💯! I had a very short weather window and didn't have time to even set up the electronics. A tiny bit of tuning and a 3s would have gone a long ways 👍

Set full throw of steering to about 18 degrees you adjust this in your steering epa.

Drive frequency 8k
Brakes turn down to the point where if you stab it it doesn't get loose while braking. So way down like 30 percent.
Exotek rubber tires actually have crazy grip. They sell them for f1. Soft medium and hard. Go soft rear and med front. Depending on the temps. You can even cook tire sauce into the rears with tire heaters. Foam tires on uneven pavement will never work. It rips apart the foam easily.

I have found the cheap Amazon servos are NOT a good idea for cars with speed. You need a mid to high range servo along with a stability program like AVC. Night and day difference.
I tend to agree with you, but when the entire build is under $150, it's hard to justify a servo that costs half if not more of the build itself. When the dollar value increases, speed increases and the loss component is real, a better servo is a must 😁👍
@@disciplinerc I agree with you. I find it fun and challenging to take cars with a low price point (like yours) and make them great. Upgrades, electronics or just tuning/tweaking. I have some TT01, TL01, Fazers, TT02, etc, that are well equipped and drive like high end touring cars. Straight, smooth, fast, and they put a smile on my face.

Run 4s again. Set the throttle epa to 75% and if you have the ability to add a throttle delay set that up. Youll get that 60

Yes they do, and we'll. Sensored to boot. They don't handle a heavy car though and over heat. I light-ish 1/10 max and you're golden! 👌👌
