only got roku tv in bedroom and got device connected to it...i never use apps on a tv,...rather have better sound/picture when choosing a tv...than the apps on it...and would not buy a roku box anyway...too restricting keep up the good work bro...and enjoy this weather with family

Stop using the service , theres nothing you can do to stop the ads on fire device thats why so many ppl are dropping there devices or there streaming service , for the price its not worth it there library is full of old trash
I own Two Roku devices, ( a tv and a streaming box) but I only use them when I get tired of the first stick or if I am trying to list to a sporting event that is NOT on television.

The simplicity is why got the roku tv. It's a business move. You can't get too irritated. I'll just wait for someone to figure out how to stop the ads.
ROKU😝 "WE" have not been friends since my first purchase. Before I could login to see what it had to offer, it wanted my Credit Card 💳. That was a NO 🤨, and we broke up 2017😂! That was the same day I received it. At that time I purchased the Ultra😬

I have a Roku TV, I dont really mind the ads at all… but then again, I don’t really watch Roku often or spend any time on the home screen

As long as Roku gives us the option to disable the video and audio like the Firestick, I can deal with it. Just more of the greed...🤨😄
I think its big mistake. My father uses Firestick pro remote after they started playing ads so he can watch what he wants. I am going to give my brother my Roku and just use aps on Samsung TV.
The only reason I like ROKU because of the FREE CHANNELS if it didn't have free channels I wouldn't use it !
The problem nowadays, unlike say the pre 2000 and 1990s, you had no choice but to watch adverts. Nowadays audiences have more choice and with ad's become more intrusive and annoying. Audiences are becoming fed up of them to the point. That any company or device that becomes too intrusive with ad's is going to lose more revenue from customers in the long run. Broadcast TV will be gone in less than 20 years I think for the reason as my dad would say, the next commercial will be interrupted by a programme.
I have a Roku tv but run my shields on it. I’ve never used the POS Roku on it. I don’t even know where my tv remote is. I have my streaming remotes programmed to turn the tv on and off. Never understood why anyone would use Roku with their closed platform.

Used Roku devices for many years on multiple tvs in the house because they are so easy to use. Simple home screen, never buffered, just works. Never had any issues or questions from the wife or kids. After setup no admin required. Switched to firetv cube on main tv so I could side load apps. The firetv cube regularly buffers & constantly needs rebooting. Every update on the amazon device either removes good features or adds ones I dont want. From an administration point of view the amazon is a time waster. If you could side load apps on Roku it would be the perfect streaming device and id ditch amazon devices in a heart beat.
This is true...the simplistic nature of Roku devices as also mentioned by the content creator was the reason the Roku 3 was placed in my daughter's room....as it was just so simple to use but like you say.... you would just click an app and it would work, it had strong WiFi connection and it just worked..

I own a Roku tv and they’ve started changing other stuff I don’t like. They’ve started putting 1-2 rows of what’s trending now before I can even get to my regular live tv app. I end up having to navigate a page that used to be simple to operate. I hope they don’t start playing ads! 😟
Have you seen the Louis Rossmann videos on Roku .....Change of terms, blocking TVs use... and a Patent request for adding their own adverts into the HDMI feed on Roku TVs.
I v got no problem with adds I am the generation that grew up with adds I v got Netflix and Disney for 4.99 it’s a add support ed lower tier and I am saving money if I pay the full price I would have to choose one of them only
If I spent all day looking at the home screen on my fire stick the ads would bother me. I spend a couple of seconds there while I select the app that I want to use, no big deal
You can get rid of it by going to setting and click on home screen and click on hide and you will stop seeing it on the home screen.

I've basically stopped using my fire cube everything about it gets on me tits,adverts in your face,can't use a launcher any more so bought myself a T95z plus android box and I love it,it's quick and zero adverts plus hit the home button and straight to wolf launcher.👌
Did briefly look as these as I was considering getting away from the fire sticks now they’re pushing harder with the ads which sucks being as I pay for prime. I’ll not bother with Roku either. I just need a way to watch all the first division games next season since we’ve just been relegated 🤦♂️😂
I stop using my Roku years ago. As far as I am concerned Roku could fold. they don't offer enough for me to give a dam. Roku was out long before the firestick, their downfall was not allowing 3rd parties on their platform.

Bought a Roku, plugged it in, realised what it is capable of, unplugged it, it went to the dump a few months later having never been used again.

I love my Roku, but I’m going to be furious if they put ads on the Home Screen and I can’t hide them. I HATE ads😡
This is old news, to be honest. All they do is when they want to promote something, like the weird al yankovic movie on the roku channel, they just put a banner across the bottom of the screen and it doesn't really do anything, you can't click on it or anything.
This is good news because I will be able to pick up a Roku stick for 5 bucks.

Doesn't do any of these stupid things with a Chrome HD. I can watch anything I want on any app from any Google play store, US and UK. Both accounts on same device, firestick doesn't do that. Don't have to p**s about with a s**t load of settings either. Hey, but that's just me. Thanks for info anyway.

We need to Boycott Fire devices and Roku devices I will never Again buy any Roku or Amazon fire device Besides ads are not even Relevant to the end user so they in fact are a waste of advertisement for the sponsor.

No, I think it’s right. They’re only going by their rules like Amazon and Google so I think it’s right that these companies do this they have to follow in the same way as them to companies.
