    As an Ozzie, I see Harsha in the same bar drinking with McGilvray, Arlott, Benaud, Tony Greig, Chappelli, SKW, Bumbles, Isa Guha, Jim Maxwell, Lawrie, Kerry O'Keefe, Holding, Blofeld. All these commentators were and are knowledgeable experts, entertaining, fabulous communicators and don't need TV to paint a picture. Love to be at the bar with this lot. I used to drink on a Friday at a bar in Sydney and I'd end up with the sublime and the ridiculous, Tony Greig and Geoff Boycott.

      All the sweet souls here, please stop the tag titles of God king etc. This is the reason why we aren't able to make inclusive environment with all fans now. I know SACHIN is greatest of all-conditions batting including in ODI knockouts (3rd after VIV & KIRSTEN as per quora answer to "How often did Sachin Tendulkar deliver when it was really required?") and his incredible consistency in 1996 2003 2011 till SEMIS in ODIs & even in toughest conditions SENA WINDIES PAK Tests vs all these lethal bowling & batting firepowers since 1990 itself is the clear evidence of the same, but don't overglorify it to invite the hate of egoist playerfans or anyone. Please read this. ☺️
      All the people including 1950s to 2000s or even 2000s till date cricket fans, don't ever compare two different era players at all, because that comparison comes alongwith multitude of crucial factors like own team strength and opposition strength team count, fielding & old ball rules, pitch & umpiring realities, and different format knockouts introduced since 2007 of T20s and later WTCFINALS. So simply admire the skills of players always, and be graceful to accept their failures as well, be it KOHLI, SACHIN or even SIR VIV. ✌️☺️
      Dear friends, even cricketer in earlier years himself & cricket expert HARSHA BHOGLE appreciates the originality of each & every player including SACHIN KOHLI everyone, and doesn't make such typical comparative judgements. So let's love the unique skills of every player, rather than any comparison. Let's be sports lovers, not player fanatics, right ✌️☺️

    At least australia has given him the respect he richly deserves, unlike india. Specially powerful cricketers and bcci. Such a kind and humble man. Means a lot to me, and similarly to many more. Luckily now, through crickbuzz, he and others are reaching out to many more. India really needs to understand that they, along with others, need abstract minds from non cricketing backgrounds like him more and more. Not everyone loves the description of the battle cum competition between bat and ball always. People watch, specially test cricket, for other reasons too. Every cricketing nation with the icc needs to realise this. And it will make a financial impact. Make absolutely no mistake

    The question by the interviewer as to why Gavaskar remains one of the most under-rated players in the history of the game remained unanswered beyond just a cursory remark with Harsha Bhogle typically taking cue from there to highlight Tendulkar and company. This is unfortunate and is truly one of the major reasons why Gavaskar despite his seminal achievements remains in the shade even today and few talk about his great attainments with the willow when in Australia and England there is always the reminiscence of great players from the past in more frequent and glowing terms, if even more analytically accurately as well.

    Great interview. Regarding Bhogle's ban in Indian cricket for a couple of years (which is shameful and utterly despicable): There are 2-3 possible reasons. One was already mentioned - talking about foreign players (Bollywood star Amitabh Bhachan tweeted on it and Dhoni retweeted it). Another was Harsha criticized Kohli's team (I think it was RCB the way he said it, but it could be India's T20 team also) and worded it like that. There is reason to believe that Kohli took it personally and we know that Kohli doesn't appreciate any form of criticism. Another was that Harsha may have criticized some people at the Nagpur cricket stadium for some preparations/facilities at a T20 game and the BCCI officials are even worse in taking any criticism. It could be a combination of all these things because all these happened around the same time. I wouldn't be surprised if the related influential persons of Indian cricket had an underground meeting to banish him and teach a lesson. Very sad. Intolerance in Indian cricket establishment at its worst.
    Yes, I also agree that interview should be much more popular. Let me tweet it.

    I don't think Sachin, Kumble, Srinath, Ganguly, Dravid etc ever fixed matches, but it is tough to belive that they did not know what was going around. They lived a large part of their lives with Azhar, Jadeja, Mongia and they all knew the sport inside out. They would have known, atleast have a very strong suspicion.
    So either they knew and kept quiet about it for whatever reason. Or the whole fixing theory was largely over exaggerated. Maybe the guys did take money, but the fixing was more for smaller things (like spot fixing) and not losing matches.

    • @dheebansachin
      @dheebansachin 3 года назад +4

      Thing is even if you are suspicious you cannot publicly state it unless you have proof. These guys would've never had proof, so they could never publicly state anything. But Tendulkar did tell CBI about Azhar. He said something like, "I suspected Azhar had connections with bookies. I sometimes felt that he was not giving his best when I was the captain and I suspected something may be wrong there'. CBI has this on record. So Tendulkar did say that to CBI. And Tendulkar also corroborated the evidence Anshuman Gaekwad gave - In mid-90s in Sri Lanka, Gaekwad got calls twice that the match has been fixed and that some players would get run out to throw the match. Gaekwad immediately went to Tendulkar. Tendulkar told him he will make sure that India won't lose by staying not out during the chase and making sure India won. And Azhar and Jadeja got run out in that match. So Tendulkar told the CBI whatever he knew.

      Players like tendulkar cannot speak such a big thing in public without proof and when they exposed in media sachin was the person in the team who spoke against those fixers . So don't blame these guys .

    this is one of the best cricket chat show series but couldn't find it on RUclips except one or two episodes. They have many episodes before from Gary Sobers to Alan Davidson to Brian Lara to Glenn McGrath but all are removed from the RUclips. And show is Hosted by Robert Craddock on Fox Sports Australia with Series Name Cricket Legends. And If you aware about this show and if you know any other links where i can watch all episodes then reply me on this comment.
